Chapter 39 Slap in the Face tushumi.cc

As the weather grew hotter, Chu Huaixu became lethargic and lost his appetite.

He only had a couple of mouthfuls of salty porridge for breakfast, and he didn't eat much for lunch or dinner either. The servant had to beg him for a long time before he reluctantly ate a few mouthfuls.

When Song Ting returned in the evening, he was relaxing in the octagonal pavilion, lazily squinting his eyes, looking just like a cat taking a nap.

Song Ting was afraid of disturbing him, so she walked very quietly, but Chu Huaixu still heard her.

He lifted his eyelids, glanced in the direction of the voice, saw it was Song Ting, and then closed his eyes again.

With Xiao An absent, Song Ting ordered the servant who used to serve him in the mansion to stay by Huai Xu's side.

The child, named Abao, was much smarter than Xiao An. Seeing that Chu Huaixu was seeking coolness, he took a palm-leaf fan and stood aside to fan him.

The force and speed were just right, and the gentle breeze made people feel comfortable.

Chu Huaixu, however, still felt it wasn't enough, and refused to wear his clothes properly, leaving them hanging loosely on his body.

Most of his chest was exposed during his movements.

Song Ting's eyes burned with envy, and the thought of how many people had seen this man lying in the pavilion filled him with rage.

"Get dressed."

He walked over and pulled up Chu Huaixu's clothes to make sure that everything was completely covered and no extra parts were exposed, only then did he manage to suppress his anger a little.

"I'll do it." He took the palm-leaf fan from A Bao's hand and personally fanned Chu Huaixu.

The latter slowly opened his eyes, glanced at him briefly, and then looked away.

Song Ting grabbed his hand and squeezed his palm affectionately. "The housekeeper said you're not eating properly."

Chu Huaixu smiled, pulled his hand out, and instead grabbed Song Ting's chin, pulling her closer to him.

When their eyes met, he smiled affectionately at Song Ting, but the words he uttered were more venomous than poison:

"I really can't eat after looking at your face all day long."

Song Ting leaned in even closer and kissed him on the corner of his lips:

"I think it's because the cooks in the manor are incompetent. If they can't even cook a proper meal, then they're useless. Xiao Wu."

The elusive bodyguard appeared on command: "Your subordinate is here."

"Drag those cooks out and feed them to the dogs."

Song Ting's expression was indifferent; the lives of a few people were as insignificant to him as fallen leaves under a tree.

The smile in Chu Huaixu's eyes faded instantly, and the fingers gripping Song Ting's chin tightened, his resentment undisguised.

If he could, he might really want to kill Song Ting immediately.

"You did this on purpose." He narrowed his eyes, his tone icy.

Song Ting could treat human life as worthless, but he couldn't.

Song Ting put down the palm-leaf fan, grabbed his arm with one hand, and placed the other hand on the back of his head.

This action instantly eliminated the last bit of distance between them. He readily admitted, "Yes."

He said, "Starting today, if you don't eat properly for a day, I will kill a cook."

He picked up a dog randomly in the past, but now it has learned to threaten him. How wonderful!

Chu Huaixu's face turned red with anger, and he raised his hand to slap her: "You!"

Song Ting neither dodged nor avoided the slap, letting it land squarely on his wrist. Then, she grabbed Chu Huaixu's wrist and kissed the protruding bone in his wrist.

"Are you calm now? If not, you can call the other side."

Chu Huaixu was so angry that he couldn't speak at all, and Xiao Wu and A Bao beside him were equally dumbfounded.

No one expected their parents to be so shameless.

Is this still the same ruthless adult who kills without blinking an eye?

—Was there really no strange curse cast by the shamans of southern Xinjiang?

—Would I be silenced by the adults if I accidentally witnessed this scene?

Song Ting suddenly turned her head, her eyes icy cold: "Xiao Wu, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and go."

"Ah." Xiao Wu finally came to his senses and accepted the order, "Yes."

"Stop!" Chu Huaixu shouted, stopping him.

Xiao Wu: "..."

This was the ancestor of the master who slapped his master's head as a daily occurrence. Xiao Wu was caught in a dilemma, unsure whether to leave or stay, and stood there dumbfounded.

He could only look to his family in a panic, trying to get help.

The usually wise and powerful official seemed to be blinded by greed, completely unaware of his gaze.

Those eyes seemed glued to the person next to them.

Xiao Wu had no choice but to bite the bullet and bow to Chu Huaixu: "What are your orders, young master?"

Huaiyue slightly raised her eyes, her expression a mixture of joy and unease:

"I think you're quite pleasing to the eye. Your master has abandoned my servant, so you can stay by my side from now on."

"this……"

Xiao Wu was at a loss for words. Just as he was about to speak, he heard his parents say:

"Very good, Xiao Wu. From now on, you will follow Mingyu. If he loses even a single hair, I will hold you responsible."

"..." Xiao Wu was speechless with bitterness.

"Are you happy now?" Song Ting didn't care about his subordinate's life or death at all, and coaxed him, "I'm hungry too, have some more with me?"

"Hmph." Chu Huaixu turned his face away, refusing to look at him.

"You wanted to kill me? You can't kill me like this."

Chu Huaixu snorted again, but did not object further.

Song Ting then put his arm around his waist, intending to pick him up.

Chu Huaixu wouldn't let her go, and deftly escaped from under his arm:

"I have my own feet, so there's no need for you to worry about me."

The courtyard was cool, so Song Ting instructed people to set the food on the stone table in the courtyard. With the beautiful scenery of the courtyard, it was quite interesting.

Chu Huaixu held the spoon, listlessly drank two sips of soup, and refused to drink any more.

Song Ting placed a piece of spare rib on his plate: "Not to your liking?"

"It's bland and tasteless, like a bird in the mouth."

The young master Chu of the past would never have uttered such vulgar language. Song Ting found it amusing and chuckled quietly.

"What would you like to eat? Tell the cook to make it."

"Spicy chicken, spicy fish..." He rattled off many dishes in one breath, just like before, he couldn't live without spicy food.

Song Ting knew, of course, that he loved to eat these things, but the reason she didn't have the cook make them was because she was afraid they wouldn't be good for his health.

Seeing how much he wanted to eat it, I naturally couldn't bring myself to do it.

"Let them cook tomorrow, let's just make do with what we have for today."

Chu Huaixu was a little happier then and slowly ate the ribs in his bowl.

Song Ting was already hungry, and seeing that he finally started eating, she also started eating and quickly finished most of the dishes on the table.

Chu Huaixu found his ravenous eating amusing and mocked him:

"Sir, are you perhaps a reincarnated starving ghost who has never had a full meal?"

"No," Song replied.

"That must be those two mistreating officials in the palace."

“Sigh,” Chu Huaixu sighed slowly, “The adults have devoted themselves to the mother and son, yet they can’t even bear to give the adults a meal.”

He looked up with a smile: "Sir, you've truly wasted your sincere heart on a dog..."

Song Ting then said, "No."
