Chapter 21: The Best Tips
Chunniang's eyes lit up with joy, and she lowered her head and left.
"Why are you still involved with her?" Old man Chen asked pretending to be indifferent.
Liang Jinyu felt contempt in her heart, but she told him what happened yesterday in a good tone.
After hearing this, Old Man Chen sighed and said in a pretentious manner, "It's really not easy for her to be alone and without anyone to rely on."
The speaker may not mean it, but the listener may take it seriously.
Wang suddenly had an epiphany, and a brilliant idea popped into her mind.
That evening.
Wang did not go to bed after eating as usual, but sat at the head of the bed waiting for Old Man Chen to come back from his stroll.
About half an hour later, Old Man Chen walked into the room slowly with his hands behind his back.
Seeing that Wang was still awake, Old Man Chen's eyes flickered slightly and he asked unhappily, "What are you doing up late at night? Doesn't the oil lamp cost money?"
Wang was in a good mood at the moment, and she didn't say anything to him. Instead, she waved excitedly and said, "Come here quickly, old man. I want to tell you something."
Old man Chen walked over reluctantly: "What's going on? Why are you being so mysterious?"
Wang pointed out and said, "You can see that she is a rooster that doesn't lay eggs and has no money. Why do you keep a woman like her? I will lose several years of my life with her around. So I am thinking of finding a new wife for the boss!"
Old Man Chen frowned and thought, "Not having money is the most important thing. The main thing is that he can't have children. Dani is the only daughter of my eldest son. I can't let him die without an heir."
"That's right, that's why the eldest brother has to divorce her and marry someone new."
"It's easy for you to say that. The eldest brother is not young anymore and has been married twice. Which good girl would be willing to marry him?" After saying this, Old Man Chen took off his shoes and crawled away.
Wang hurried over, but before she could meet anyone, she was pushed away by Old Man Chen: "You smell so foul, stay away from me."
Wang glared at him and continued, "There are no good girls, but there is one. Chunniang is young and can give birth. She is helpless now. She must be secretly happy to marry into my family."
"Who?" Old man Chen was about to lie down, but when he heard this he sat up immediately and looked at Wang in surprise.
Wang slapped him in anger and said, "Chun Niang, it's not like you don't know me. You just startled me."
"No." Old man Chen refused without hesitation, looking a little flustered.
He stared at Wang suspiciously, wondering if she had seen through something and was deliberately saying this to test him.
Wang was so focused on convincing Old Man Chen that she didn't notice anything strange about him.
"Why not? Chunniang is a little weak, but she's pretty. She's already given birth to two children. Maybe she'll have two more in one year. The most important thing is that Chunniang has no husband, no family, and a soft personality. We can just take her home and forget about the betrothal gifts and banquets."
Hearing this, Old Man Chen heaved a sigh of relief, pulled the quilt over him and lay down, saying unhappily, "What a mess! Wang Tiande is gone, but the Wang family is still here. Do you think they are fools?"
Let’s not talk about others, just talk about the village chief. He is Wang Tiande’s uncle. How could he agree to Chunniang remarrying?
Wang snorted, "The sky wants rain, and mother wants family. As long as Chunniang agrees, this matter can be accomplished."
Old man Chen was too lazy to pay attention to her. Thinking back to the happy time he had with Chunniang just now, he felt a surge of heat in his body.
But when he thought about Chunniang's face asking for money afterwards, the heat instantly dissipated, leaving only irritability.
"Give me twenty cents tomorrow," said Old Man Chen.
Wang asked unhappily, "Why do you want money again? What do you want it for?"
"Just take it when I tell you to. Why are you talking so much nonsense? Go to sleep!"

Over the next two days, Liang Jinyu deliberately found fault and made Wang unhappy in everything.
In the morning, all the men in the house were out, so Liang Jinyu found a stone and started sharpening the knife by Wang's window.
Swish!
Swish!
The piercing sound made Wang's hair stand on end. She couldn't bear it any longer and picked up the shoe on the ground and threw it out.
"You're going to die, sharpening a kitchen knife so early in the morning, you bastard, why don't you die when there are people to be killed?"
Liang Jinyu picked up Wang's shoes and threw them outside the yard, saying in a gentle voice, "Mom, the kitchen knife is blunt. You can't cut the meat without sharpening it."
Wang gritted her teeth and could no longer lie there, so she stood up and went out to deal with Liang Jinyu.
Liang Jinyu heard the noise in the house, quickly put away the whetstone, and winked at Dani in the yard.
The two of them immediately carried their baskets and hurried out the door.
Wang couldn't catch anyone and had no place to vent her anger, so she stood in the yard with her hands on her hips and cursed everyone.
The man came back home in the evening.
Liang Jinyu prepared the meal obediently, with her head lowered and her face submissive, and she never talked back even when Wang made things difficult for her.
Wang was even more furious when she saw how she acted in public and behind other people's backs. After dinner, she dragged Chen Lai Fu into the house and tried to persuade him to divorce his wife by all means.
Chen Lai Fu had his own plans. Even if Liang Jinyu had no money and could not have children, he did not intend to let her go just like that.
The mother and son were arguing back and forth in the room, while outside, old man Chen walked out slowly with his hands behind his back as usual.
"It's so cold, Lao Deng is not afraid of freezing to death." Chen Dani clicked her tongue and shook her head. She was shivering even while sitting by the fire.
Liang Jinyu was cleaning the table. Hearing this, she curled her lips and chuckled, "Who knows?"
"Sister, sit down and rest for a while. I'll help you wash." Liang Dingfang trotted over to take the dishes and chopsticks, but he caught a glimpse of Liang Jinyu's hands full of frostbite and felt distressed. "Sister, I'll go to the pharmacy and buy you some medicine tomorrow."
Liang Jinyu pulled her hand back and said nonchalantly, "It's okay, just wait until the weather warms up. Besides, where do you get the money to buy medicine?"
Liang Dingfang instantly felt like a balloon that had been punctured and deflated.
Seeing his depressed expression, Liang Jinyu was afraid that he was upset, so she changed the subject and said, "Your hand is more serious than mine. Is it very hard working in the kiln?"
"Fortunately, they are just simple tasks." Liang Dingfang said casually.
But when he put his hands into the pot, he shuddered involuntarily. The palms of his hands were cracked and it hurt when they touched the water.
Liang Jinyu saw this and felt pain in her heart. She walked over and pushed him away: "Add some firewood to the stove. The water is cold."
Liang Dingfang put his hands behind his back and obediently went to add firewood.
"When you were at home, your father asked you to study hard, but you refused to listen. If I asked you to study now, would you be willing?" Liang Jinyu asked jokingly.
Liang Dingfang stared at the burning flames in a daze, and his mind couldn't help but emerge with the days when he was studying at home.
At that time he firmly believed that studying must be the most boring and painful thing in the world, but now he knows that there are many things more painful than studying.
So much so that he even began to miss the boring school, the old-fashioned teacher, and his father's scolding.
"Sister, am I really useless?" Liang Dingfang laughed bitterly at himself. "If Dad is still alive, he must be very disappointed in me."
Liang Jinyu paused, her nose sour, and she pretended to smile and said, "How could that be? Actually, Dad is just like you, he doesn't like studying. Mom said it's hereditary, it's not your fault."
Liang Dingfang remembered his father's habit of falling asleep whenever he picked up a book, and he couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh, Grandpa, what happened to you? Why did you get hit on the head?"
In the yard, Chen Dani was shouting loudly.
When Liang Jinyu walked out, she saw old man Chen, disheveled, with his right hand covering his forehead, looking irritated and in pain: "What are you yelling about? I just fell down accidentally, what a big deal."
