Chapter 85: Dog Barking

Chapter 85: Dog Barking

"Stop." Liang Jinyu shouted.

The carriage stopped steadily by the roadside, and unsurprisingly, caused a commotion.

Liang Jinyu looked at Xie Qingyu curiously, only to see that he looked normal, as if he hadn't heard anything.

Liang Jinyu was immediately filled with admiration. When she thought about being surrounded by people and stared at like a monkey when she went out in the carriage, she wished she could take Mi Li with her first.

Liang Jinyu stood up and was about to say goodbye to Xie Qingyu when she heard the driver outside reminding her.

"Young Master, the Fourth and Fifth Misses are here."

Liang Jinyu thought of the two girls he met that day, and an awkward feeling rose in his heart. He hurriedly said, "Thank you very much for coming today, Young Master. I'm leaving first."

Xie Qingyu nodded without saying anything else.

The coachman opened the door, raised the curtain, and helped Liang Jinyu out of the carriage.

"It's you? How come you are in my eldest brother's carriage?" Xie Yingying, who was walking towards them, recognized Liang Jinyu at a glance and asked unhappily.

Liang Jinyu was afraid of this situation, so she nodded to Xie Yingying and turned away.

"Are you impolite? I'm asking you a question!" Xie Xunxun ran over angrily and blocked Liang Jinyu's way.

Liang Jinyu looked at Xie Wanwan who was following closely, and signaled her to take her sister away quickly. She really didn't want to cause trouble in public.

Xie Wanwan nodded to Liang Jinyu and smiled slightly, "I have a rude temper, I hope you can forgive me."

"There's nothing to forgive. I have something else to do, so I'll leave first." Liang Jinyu didn't want to say anything more, so she turned around and left.

Xie Xiaoxiao was angry and wanted to chase after her, but was stopped by Xie Wanwan.

"Fourth sister, why did you let her go? Don't you want to know what happened between her and..."

Liang Jinyu didn't hear the rest of the conversation clearly. The crowd was so large that she soon couldn't even see the shadow of the carriage.

Liang Jinyu heaved a long sigh, shook her head and smiled bitterly. She had now been reduced to the point where she had to give way to even a merchant girl. No wonder Ding Fang was unwilling to accept this.

If nothing had happened to her father, if the Liang family was still around, not to mention Xie Yaoyao, even Xie Qingyu would have stood up and saluted when he saw her today.

But after thinking about it, Liang Jinyu quickly faced the reality.

Since you want revenge and want to make a living as a merchant, you can't offend the Xie family. Avoid them if possible.

Liang Jinyu was lost in thought all the way and returned home before dark.

When I walked to the door, I saw Wang You coming back from Luanxiang Garden with a wooden sword in his arms.

"Why, you don't look happy. Did you get scolded again?" Liang Jinyu asked jokingly.

Although Wang You was very young, he always kept a straight face and said, “No.”

"Then why are you unhappy?" Liang Jinyu asked, and the two of them entered the yard together.

"Master Yan has left Shaozhou." Wang You said suddenly.

Liang Jinyu stopped and looked back at him: "What did you say?"

Wang You repeated, "Master Yan has already left Shaozhou. He left this afternoon."

Liang Jinyu suddenly felt a sense of emptiness in her chest. She actually left like that.

"He said when he would be back - forget it." Liang Jinyu shook her head. Even if she knew, what was the point? It didn't matter anymore.

"Mr. Yan said that he was going to look for someone, and he didn't know when he would be back." Wang You added and left.

Looking for someone?

Liang Jinyu chuckled. Who could be so important that he didn't even say hello?

After dinner, Grandma San learned that Yan Xing had left and she complained a lot.

"After all, we've known each other for so long, even if you have to leave urgently, you should at least say hello."

"Brother, will you go next door in the future?" Juan'er asked vaguely while chewing on the ribs.

Wang You shook his head: "Master Yan gave me a book before he left, and told me to practice according to the book first."

"That's great. Then brother doesn't have to get up so early every day." Juan'er was happy for him.

Wang You moved his mouth, as if to say something, but swallowed it back.

"By the way, when I came back today, I saw the government was catching fugitives. Have you heard about this?" Liang Jinyu asked.

Liang Dingfang paused and looked at Liang Jinyu inquiringly.

Liang Jinyu shook her head at him: "I don't know what's going on either."

The third wife served Liang Jinyu a bowl of soup and continued, "I know this. I heard about it from the neighbors this afternoon. It seems that one of them is the murderer, and the other is said to be an accomplice. Anyway, they are quite dangerous. Everyone should be careful these days."

When they heard that it was a murderer, Liang Jinyu and Liang Dingfang were relieved, as this meant that the government was not looking for them.

But this incident also gave Liang Jinyu a reminder.

"Third Aunt, please find some time to make me two sets of men's clothes so I can wear them when I go out to work."

Just as the Third Granny agreed, she heard a dog barking outside.

Grandma San has always disliked cats and dogs. When she heard the barking, she said angrily, "They bark endlessly at the slightest disturbance. It's a pity that we live in a remote place, otherwise we wouldn't have a peaceful life all day long."

"I guess we saw the wild cat in the warehouse again." Liang Jinyu said, and asked Dingfang to go out and take a look.

"I'll go." Wang You put the leftover bones of Juan'er into the empty bowl and trotted out of the hall.

Because the two dogs had to look after the barn, they were kept in the front yard. A doghouse was built with wooden boards in the corner. When they had nothing to do, they would lie at the door of the barn.

"Da Huang? Xiao Huang?" Wang You came out with a bowl and shouted outside.

Although the two dogs are naughty, they will come when their names are called.

I don’t know what happened today. Wang Youlian called out several times but the two cats didn’t come over and were still barking wildly in the barn.

Wang You walked over suspiciously. There was no light outside and it was pitch black all around.

"Dahuang?" Wang You called out again and walked to the warehouse. He finally saw two dogs wagging their tails and barking towards the warehouse.

"Come here, stop shouting!" Wang You shouted, knocking on the dishes.

One of the dogs immediately ran back shaking its head, but the other one continued to stare at the barn and bark without giving up.

Wang You dumped all the bones on the ground and shouted, "Stop yelling. If you keep yelling, be careful or Auntie San will lock you all up."

Hearing Sanpo's name, the other dog came back hesitantly, but after taking two steps, it barked at the back, obviously very alert.

Puppies grow fast, especially if they eat well during the Chinese New Year, and in the blink of an eye they have become big dogs.

Wang You touched the dog's head and gave it a few more scoldings. Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly heard a "bang" from the warehouse, as if something had fallen to the ground.

Because Liang Jinyu repeatedly told me that these foods were very important, Wang You thought about it and decided to go and take a look.

The sky is covered with dark clouds tonight, without a trace of moonlight.

Wang You could only see a dark patch through the crack in the door. Perhaps a wild cat had knocked something over.

Thinking of this, Wang You tried to push the door open a little to get a clearer view.

Squeak——

Who would have thought that the wooden door would suddenly open with his movement.

The brass lock on the door is missing?

A chilling feeling instantly rushed to Wang You's head. He knew that someone must have broken into the warehouse!
