Chapter 5 Mission in Progress

Even with the naming issue resolved, the zoo remains unremarkable. In Beijing alone, there are plenty of tourist attractions, and as for zoos, which one isn't better? Why would anyone travel all the way to Wanling just to see a few animals?

On the other hand, you have to eat one bite at a time and walk one step at a time.

This is also the lesson that Dad taught Su Zhou.

Su Zhou will definitely be staying at the zoo more often in the future, since this is her first visit. The zoo is actually quite large, but only a small portion of it is open to the public.

She gritted her teeth and took her computer, tablet, charging cable, and her favorite cushion from the car. The office building, which originally looked a bit shabby, now looked quite decent.

[Ding—First task unlocked: Achieve sales target of [amount] yuan within one week. (Reward: One random exhibition hall upgrade opportunity, [amount] gold coins)]

Su Zhou was holding a slice of watermelon she had just cut, watching an animated film on TV. When she heard the system notification, the piece of watermelon stuck in her throat, making her eyes water. She coughed a few times and said, "No way, a weekly turnover of 10,000 yuan? Do I look like 10,000 yuan?"

Putting down the fox-shaped plastic fruit fork in her hand, Su Zhou analyzed with the system, counting on her fingers, "First of all, the location of our zoo is not good. It is far from people and can't even be considered the suburbs. Look at all these empty places outside. Even if migrant workers rent houses in villages, they are not willing to come here."

Although she herself was not very clear why, even though the area was beautiful with clear waters and mountains, and even had a view of the sea, this overly pristine forest was probably the biggest obstacle to development.

It is said that this whole hillside belongs to that distant relative. Standing outside the zoo gate, Su Zhou could even see the sandy beach, which was almost white under the sunlight.

"Furthermore, is a bald peacock more attractive? Or is a chimpanzee more attractive? Do you think it's easy for others to make money these days? Don't you think a target of 10,000 yuan is far too ambitious?"

Su Zhou was utterly exasperated. Other people's systems were always eager to make grand promises, while her system was trying to achieve instant success.

She admitted that the system's rewards were indeed tempting; being able to upgrade any exhibition hall again would save her a lot of money, which was definitely a good thing for her.

[The ticket price can be set by the host; our app can see it.]

Su Zhou remembered that she still had a few attribute points left in her backend system, but she couldn't think of any good animals to allocate them to for the time being. If she wanted to make the animals attract attention in a short period of time, the only way left was live streaming or the Internet.

If we're talking about the top internet trends, it's definitely cats, dogs, and pandas. Many zoos actually have their own official WeChat accounts, phonetic symbols, etc., and they even hire dedicated operations staff. This little zoo is still in its early stages, and she has to take care of everything herself.

Before we knew it, night had quietly fallen.

The villagers in the nearby village were a thorn in Su Zhou's side. She pretended to drive away, driving halfway up the mountain to avoid the village. After turning off the engine, she stared intently at her phone screen. The surveillance footage, including the network, was incredibly clear; she could even hear them talking.

The clear evening breeze in the mountains on a summer day carries the fragrance of grass and trees, a primal scent accompanied by the twinkling starlight of fireflies.

Thinking about it carefully, Su Zhou seems to have never had such a carefree and pleasant time in a long time, where her eyes do not need to be staring at the screen all the time, and her field of vision is full of green.

Having lived in a village in the countryside as a child, and having waded through a clear stream, the scene before her eyes unexpectedly reminded Su Zhou of her childhood.

To be honest, in this kind of environment, even opening a bed and breakfast under the banner of a sea view or mountain view would be better than opening a zoo. At the very least, opening a farmhouse would also be quite good. Su Zhou was filled with emotion when a heavy lion's roar interrupted her thoughts.

Su Zhou's gaze immediately fell on the phone screen, where she saw three suspicious-looking people climbing over the low wall.

They moved very lightly and stealthily, perhaps because the recent change of ownership at the zoo had made them wary. But even such light movements were enough to alert the animals.

"This lion looks much more energetic than before. I saw it yesterday. That girl looks like she comes from a very wealthy family. She feeds these animals the best meat. I've never seen so much meat before. And she feeds it to animals. I think people nowadays are really going against the natural order. Why feed animals such good food? Sometimes people don't even have enough to eat."

"Let's split up and search to see if we can find anything valuable."

The three of them split up, and Su Zhou simply turned on her computer, switched screens, and carefully observed the people on the screen.

To lure the fish, Su Zhou placed the last bucket of low-grade carnivore feed outside. Despite its conspicuous location, the villagers didn't suspect anything. They picked up the bucket, looked at the meat inside, and laughed, "This meat looks like it weighs about a hundred pounds. We'll divide it up when we get back."

Su Zhou secretly dialed the police officer's number: "Hello, I'm at Fushan Zoo, oh, it's been renamed Wanling Zoo now. My place has been robbed. Can you come and help me deal with it?"

Her voice was filled with panic, and the woman on the other end of the line tried to calm Su Zhou down.

Half an hour later, the sound of police sirens grew louder as they approached, and Su Zhou got out of the car and followed them.

"Young lady, did you call the police?" A middle-aged man in uniform with an upright face smiled at Su Zhou. He had a daughter who was about the same age as Su Zhou. His loving gaze fell on Su Zhou, while the other men went in and quickly subdued the three people.

"Fukuyama Zoo, I've never heard of a zoo being built on this mountain before, it looks really nice."

Su Zhou smiled gently: "I only found out recently too."

When the three villagers were arrested, they were still holding the meat bucket in their hands, struggling desperately: "We didn't take anything, why are you arresting me?"

The three villagers with their ferocious faces naturally favored Su Zhou more than the gentle and pretty little girl.

"Please come with us to make a statement."
