Chapter Thirty: The Summer Kitten's Escape Plan

After a day of welcoming visitors, the zoo finally closed in quiet solitude.

After the tourists left, the other newly hired employees helped with the cleaning work in the zoo. After cleaning, Su Zhou returned to the office building.

This is my first night staying at the zoo.

Everyone was very excited.

Su Zhou thought of the low-grade carnivore feed she had bought, and since there were many people, she took the initiative to suggest, "Everyone has worked so hard today and hasn't had dinner yet. How about we have a barbecue? I remember there are barbecue tools and seasonings in the kitchen."

There's a supermarket in the zoo now, so Su Zhou isn't worried at all.

This proposal was unanimously approved.

The zoo's staff are mostly young, with everyone around the same age. The oldest staff member, Aunt Sun, is an open-minded person who is willing to try things that young people like. Everyone was hungry after a long day.

Su Zhou took out the meat and put it on a plate, while the others were also busy.

Wash the lettuce, arrange it on a plate, and those who know how to make desserts can start making them right there in the kitchen.

It's true that the younger generation is incredibly capable. Although Su Zhou didn't think that much about it when hiring, the employees really came up with all sorts of unique skills. Some could make desserts, some could make handmade cold noodles, and some even had experience working in barbecue or spicy hot pot restaurants.

"I used to run a mala tang (spicy hot pot) restaurant."

"You went bankrupt after taking in the puppy?"

This is about a pet blogger who has recently become very popular online. The story started with feeding the puppy a spicy hot pot soup, and later the reputation of the hot pot restaurant spread among the animals. More and more dogs came to the zoo to eat hot pot, and the little white dog that was the leader at the beginning was also adopted.

"No, the landlord insisted on raising the rent, but I refused, so I just packed my things and went home. Then I came here to look for a job. It was all by accident, really by accident."

The group was having a great time, after all, everyone was really good at it.

Meanwhile, the daughter of the actual chain restaurant owner sat and waited to eat. As soon as the grilled meat was ready, she quickly wrapped it in lettuce and stuffed it into her mouth.

In an instant, the rich aroma of meat, infused with the fat, filled the mouth, and juices splashed everywhere.

Su Zhou didn't even care that it was hot; she chewed it eagerly.

No, and nobody told her that the CEO eats so well in private.

If she had known earlier that animal feed was so delicious, she would have grabbed it first. The feed wasn't expensive at all in the store, and everyone else made a very embarrassing comment.

As usual, the zookeepers at Asahi Zoo planned to go and check on the existence of the tiger Weiwei again.

But when I looked at it with the light on, I only saw that it was empty.

He shuddered, his hands trembling as he dialed the zoo director's number. His eyes darted around, but the doors were tightly shut. How could the tiger have vanished into thin air?

A Bengal tiger just vanished suddenly.

"Hey... Mr. Li, the tiger is missing."

"Yes, the door was locked when I came to check. Okay, I'm calling the police now."

Chaoxing District is known to be one of the wealthiest areas in Beijing, boasting mountains, sea, a humid environment, and extreme prosperity. The escape of an animal is truly unbelievable. It's somewhat understandable if the tiger went missing within the park, as it's currently closed and there are no visitors. However, if the tiger escaped, it would be headline news tomorrow, undoubtedly damaging the zoo's reputation.

With that thought in mind, he didn't hesitate and immediately called the police.

"Let's watch some TV." Su Zhou turned on the TV and plopped down on the sofa. Ever since cell phones gradually replaced televisions, the TV in her house had only served as background noise. They'd show the Spring Festival Gala on New Year's Eve, but these days the Gala programs always seemed to be preaching values, which Su Zhou, with her rebellious spirit, couldn't stand. But with so many people around, she felt that watching TV created a lively atmosphere. So, Su Zhou simply switched to the news channel.

She was still holding a piece of meat wrapped in lettuce in her hand, and said with a smile, "When I was little, my grandparents took care of me. We would eat dinner around the time the news was broadcast, so it's been a long time since I've heard that voice and I'm still not used to it."

A well-dressed female news anchor read the news in a perfect broadcasting voice: "Breaking news! At 8:36 PM on July 15th, Chaoxing police received a report from Chaoxing Zoo claiming that a tiger had escaped… The police are still investigating the specific reasons. We urge the public to stay home at night. If you encounter a tiger, please call the police…"

Song Xinran crunched on her meat and turned her head to look over. "If the tiger gets lost and ends up in our zoo, we'll have another species."

Tiger Weiwei is a four-year-old tiger.

Su Zhou remembers it so clearly because four years ago, right after she finished her college entrance exams, the tiger Weiwei was born, and the zoo officially launched a naming contest online. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that tens of thousands participated. Su Zhou joined in the fun, casually typing "Weiwei" in the comments section, and unexpectedly, it became the most liked comment.

The second most liked topic is college entrance exam mathematics.

That year's college entrance exam in mathematics was of epic difficulty, described by experts as the most difficult exam in twenty years. People were more resentful than ghosts, otherwise they wouldn't have ranked the college entrance exam in mathematics as the second most difficult subject.

Of course, the zoo officials wouldn't allow a tiger cub to be named after a math problem from the college entrance exam, so they named the little tiger Weiwei.

Su Zhou wholeheartedly agreed. To upgrade to a beginner-level zoo, the variety of animals needed to be up to par. Getting a tiger without any effort would be great. However, Chaoxing Zoo might not be willing to do so, so Su Zhou could only dream about it.

Moreover, the escape of a tiger is no small matter.

Asahi Ward has a high population density, so if someone gets hurt, it would be a huge loss.

This news was just something to laugh off.

After eating and drinking her fill, Su Zhou's stomach was so full she couldn't stand it anymore. She didn't eat much, mainly because no one knew that the meat produced by the system would be of such high quality.

The meat had a subtle milky aroma and wasn't greasy at all. Even Aunt Sun, who was supposed to eat a light diet, ate quite a bit. The rest of the people cleaned up the mess, and Su Zhou went back to her room to take a shower.

The main concern was the strong smell of cooking oil on her clothes, even though she didn't actually smell like anything. Due to psychological factors, Su Zhou subconsciously felt that she smelled like cooking oil.

Clean the floor and wash the dishes.

As the first meal for new employees, everyone felt that the atmosphere at the zoo was truly wonderful. There was no backstabbing, no fawning, no need to flatter or fawn over superiors, because the superiors were probably even more laid-back than they were; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it a utopia.
