Chapter 67: Afraid that Wang would see the disease
"I thought it was late, and when he saw the veterinary clinics were closed, he would leave with me. But after seeing one veterinary clinic close, he would continue to take me to the next one. Then I remembered that there were people online saying that Border Collies have the same IQ as human cubs. I thought he might be feeling unwell, but I didn't notice it. But I checked again and again, and I couldn't find any injuries on Fubao."
"Fubao's hasty attempt to find a veterinary hospital made me panic for no reason. I wondered if Fubao really had some kind of emergency."
"Later, Fubao brought me to Sister Lin's Pet Hospital. Luckily, your pet hospital was open and I was able to come over for a checkup. Otherwise, I would have been panicked if I had taken Fubao back. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight."
Wang
"Doesn't the dog know whether it's sick or not?"
"Has your Fubao behaved in any unusual way recently?"
The boy shook his head. "There's nothing unusual. He eats well, drinks well, and sleeps well. He's walked regularly every day. I've always fed him the same brand of freeze-dried dog food. I occasionally cook bones for him to chew on, and I also make other meat foods for nutritional supplements. I haven't suddenly added anything else to his diet recently."
"Sister Lin, these are what Fubao eats every day." The boy took out the dog food and freeze-dried food that he ordered on his mobile phone and showed them to Lin Ting.
She continued to explain, "Originally, I wanted to buy canned food and bone brisket, but I saw that those sold by merchants all added preservatives. It would be healthier for me to cook the same ingredients at home. It doesn't require any technical skills anyway."
Lin Ting looked up at the dog food the boy had ordered and said, "This dog food is fine. I also sell it at home."
Lin Ting squatted down to be level with the dog, "Fubao, tell me if you feel uncomfortable."
'My feet hurt.'
"Wang showed his paw to his father, but his father said that Wang was really good and knew to shake hands actively."
"Why shake hands? My paws are hurting so much, how can I have the mood to shake hands with him?"
"I didn't understand what he said, so Wang had to come to the hospital by himself. But he kept pulling me back because he was afraid that Wang would get sick."
"And that stupid dad's sleep schedule, Wang doesn't even want to talk about it. He doesn't get up during the day, doesn't sleep at night, and when he goes to the vet, the veterinary clinic is closed."
Fubao couldn't help but complain to Lin Ting.
The boy standing next to him asked weakly, "What did Sister Lin Fubao say? Is he really seriously ill?"
"Sister Lin, just tell me directly. I can handle it."
Fubao couldn't help but turn his head away.
"It's so embarrassing to be out with you."
Lin Ting covered his mouth and coughed lightly, "Fubao's feet hurt. He just complained that you didn't accompany him to the hospital. The pain made him come by himself."
"No wonder he kept dragging me to the veterinary hospital. Sister Lin, what's wrong with his foot?"
"Let me check him first." Lin Ting spread a sterile sheet on a low bed, patted the bed, and took out the sterile gloves beside him and put them on.
"Fubao, come up."
Fubao obediently jumped onto the sterile bed, lay down nicely, and kept sticking out his tongue.
"Fubao's foot hurts." After she stretched out her hand, Fubao naturally placed his paw on her palm.
Lin Ting turned Fubao's foot over and took a look. A wear and tear could be clearly seen on the black pad of flesh.
"Sister Lin, how is Fubao? Did something stick in his foot?" The boy leaned forward and looked in the direction of the dog's paw that Lin Ting was holding.
"There's nothing pricked. It's just that a piece of skin on the foot was worn off, and now the tender flesh is exposed. That's why the dog's foot hurts every time he takes a step. Have you taken him for a long walk recently?" Lin Ting stood up and took some anti-inflammatory medicine, cotton swabs, and other things from the shelf.
The boy shook his head. "No, it's the same as usual. Every day after work, I take him down to run for an hour, and then I go back home to wash up and go to bed."
"If it's normal exercise, it won't be worn out so badly." Lin Ting returned to Fubao with the things.
Wang
'You're so nice to say that.'
"Some time ago, I saw someone on the screen saying that pebbles can unclog the veins in the feet and that walking around regularly is good for clearing the blood vessels. My crazy dad actually believed it and went online to search for it."
'My dad actually found a cobblestone path in the park nearby, and then he took Wang to walk there every night. I don't know if his own blood circulation was good, but Wang's paws were really sore.'
"Wang didn't want to go, but his stupid dad insisted on dragging Wang along, telling him it was good for his feet."
"It's not good for Wang's feet anyway."
After hearing Fubao's complaint, Lin Ting was speechless towards the boy. The structure of dog's paws is different from that of human feet. Walking on such a bumpy road for a long time is not friendly to dog's paws.
"Fubao is so good-tempered that he didn't bite you." Lin Ting glanced at the boy.
The boy stared at Lin Ting in confusion and nodded, "My Fubao is really good-tempered. Before, my nephew came and rubbed Fubao all over him and even put stickers on him. Fubao didn't even turn around and touch my nephew. If it were me, I would have quit doing that long ago."
It is indeed a dog with a very stable spiritual core.
"In the future, try to take Fubao less often on cobblestone roads. The wear and tear on Fubao's feet is caused by the cobblestones. He had already protested that he didn't want to walk anymore, but you insisted on forcing him to walk. The cobblestones won't accurately target the acupoints on his feet, so even if you keep walking, it may not be effective. If you really want to unblock your blood vessels, you can go to a reliable Chinese medicine clinic." Lin Ting pulled the flashlight over and disinfected the dog's paws first.
"Ah, Sister Lin, how did you know?" the boy asked in shock.
"Your Fubao said so." Lin Ting said this and stopped talking to the boy. Instead, he focused on treating Fubao.
The boy really thought that Lin Ting was praising his son Fubao for his good temper, but he didn't expect that he was saying that even though he had tortured Fubao like this, Fubao still had such a good temper.
"Thank you, Sister Lin. I understand. I will never take Fubao to walk on the cobblestone road again."
Lin Ting didn't answer the boy, but looked at Fubao who was lying on the sterile bed sheet. "I'll disinfect your paws first, and then apply ointment. It might sting a little, so bear with it and don't bite me."
Dogs generally don't like to wear Elizabethan collars. As long as she communicates well with the dog, she doesn't have to put one on the dog.
'No bite.'
Bite the stupid dad, not your sister.
Given Fubao's good temper, he probably won't bite her, but she still has to tell him in advance.
Lin Ting first disinfected the dog's paw, then applied medicine, and then wrapped the paw with a bandage, all in one go.
"I'll prescribe some medicine for you. Just apply it on Fubao when you go back."
