"Damn it, why aren't you helping me up?"
After Cen Xi left, the fat woman, Aunt Li, complained that her arrogance only diminished after she had actually been beaten.
"Aren't you always so capable? Get up yourself!"
Li Dazhu had long disliked this fat woman, but he could neither beat her nor out-argue her, so he could only endure it.
"Li Dazhu, I'm the village chief's daughter! If you don't take care of me, you'll be sorry once I can move again!"
The fat woman tried to get up for a long time, but she still couldn't stand up. She was both angry with her husband and angry with Cen Xi.
Her family is full of useless idiots, just watching a widow bully her. That damned woman, all she did was steal half a sack of grain from her, why did she have to hit her so hard? Just wait! Once she recovers, she'll go find her father, give them a good beating, and then drive them out of the village.
"Eldest brother, second brother, help your mother to bed for a while."
Li Dazhu rubbed his forehead, finally giving in. If he could choose again, he would never have married this fat woman. He had originally thought that marrying the village chief's daughter would give his father-in-law some help, but all the help went into this fat woman's belly, and he didn't even get a drop of soup.
Why didn't that Mrs. Liu beat her to death just now?
If he kills her, he'll be free. He can even go to his father-in-law's house to complain and get some benefits or something.
"Dad, do we still need to cook?"
The second son ignored his mother. He looked at the empty bowls and plates on the kitchen table, feeling heartbroken. If his father didn't speak up, they wouldn't even have the chance to eat his mother's leftovers tonight.
But his stomach was still rumbling, and he was starving.
"Cook something! Second brother, you go cook. Eldest brother, third brother, bring your mother into the house, don't give her any food tonight. Let her learn her lesson. Humph!"
"Li Dazhu, I'm the village chief's daughter!"
"So what if she's the village chief's daughter? She still has to abide by traditional virtues. I didn't injure you, so why should I take responsibility? Didn't you say you wouldn't eat if there was no meat in the house? There's no meat tonight!"
After Li Dazhu finished speaking, he ignored the fat woman and went straight into the kitchen to help his second son start a fire.
"You sons of bitches, once I'm healed, I'll make you all pay! What are you all standing there for? Help this old woman up!"
Unable to rely on her husband, she could only vent her anger on her son.
“Mom, we’re hungry too. We haven’t eaten much lately, and we don’t have the strength to get you into bed. You’re too big. My brother and I can’t even lift one of your fingers.”
The third son, seeing that the second son and his father had left and that he himself was too weak, was even less inclined to move.
In truth, he thought the same as his father: his mother was a vampire in the family, and it would have been better if he had no mother at all.
"You all think you can just abandon me now that I'm down on my luck? Are you even my own children?"
The fat woman, Aunt Li, sounded very disappointed. She never imagined that her son, whom she had carried for ten months, would be like this. His mother suffered, and they not only looked on with disdain, but afterwards, they were too lazy to even help her to bed.
"Mother! I'm exhausted. You're like a mountain; even ten of me couldn't get you out of bed. Just sit here for a while; maybe you'll feel better on your own. Madam Liu was bedridden for three days; we all thought she was going to die, but she came back to life, didn't she? Mother! Hang in there! You can do it. I'm going to help Father cook!"
Seeing that everyone had run away, and realizing he couldn't move his mother, the eldest brother also ran away.
"You sons of bitches, all of you get back here! Oh my god! I've raised a bunch of ungrateful wretches!"
After the fat woman, Aunt Li, finished yelling and cursing, no one responded to her; apart from the chilly winter wind blowing past her ears, there was nothing else.
After Cen Xi got home, she hugged her two little ones and squeezed them into a very hard cotton quilt.
Cen Xi felt that the quilt was as hard as a stone, making it hard for her to breathe.
At this moment, she really missed her home in the modern world.
The bed in the room was incredibly soft, and all the blankets in the house were made of silk, making it extremely comfortable to cover oneself with.
With the air conditioning on in winter and fruit served by Ms. Li, her life couldn't be more perfect. What kind of madness is she that made her go to the temple to pray to Buddha?
If you're having trouble at work, just change jobs! Is it really that big of a deal? Cen Xi, is it really that big of a deal?
Cen Xi spent the entire night racking her brains for six hours, lost control of her emotions 11 times, her right eyelid twitched 108 times, and her heart ached all night as she still couldn't figure out how she got to this wretched place.
She struggled with her thoughts for so long that she tragically suffered from insomnia and finally fell asleep in the middle of the night.
So every morning, without exception, she overslept.
The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes was Liu Jiuyi staring at her with a serious expression.
"Jiuyi, what's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Cen Xi asked subconsciously.
"You are not my mother!"
The boy looked at her with great certainty.
"If I'm not your mother, then who am I?"
Cen Xi looked at him with a smile and asked.
"I thought about it all night and I think you might be a female ghost. You ate my mother. My mother wasn't as fierce as you."
The boy rested his chin on his hand and said very seriously.
"What if I'm a female ghost? What will you do then? How will you bring your mother back?"
Cen Xi raised an eyebrow and gestured for him to continue.
"Let's hire a Taoist priest to drive you away!"
The little boy said fiercely.
"Okay! Go ahead and invite them, I'll wait for you."
Cen Xi playfully pinched his nose and laughed, saying that she would be more than happy if the Taoist could take her back to her former world.
There are no cell phones or computers here, so she can't watch dramas or read novels. The worst part is that she can't even solve her basic needs for food and clothing. Why would she stay here? Is she looking for trouble?
"But there are no Taoist priests in the village, so I can't drive you away!"
The boy said dejectedly.
"So what are you planning to do? How about I help you invite them?"
Cen Xi asked with a smile.
"I...I don't know!"
The boy looked bewildered and at a loss.
"Mother, what are you talking about?"
Cen Xi was about to give the little guy a suggestion when her arm was grabbed by the little girl next to her.
"You're awake, little girl. I'm asking you, do you think I'm your mother?"
Cen Xi squeezed her soft little hand and asked with a smile.
"Yes, Mother, what's wrong?"
The little girl's adorable eyes are so cute. Unlike some precocious young man, who looks at her with such wariness.
"Your brother says I'm not your mother, he says I'm a female ghost, what do you suggest we do? Let's just get rid of him, okay?"
Cen Xi deliberately teased her to see what choice she would make.
“Brother! How can Mother not be Mother? Don’t talk nonsense. Our Mother is the cutest. Mother is a princess, and I am a little princess.”
The little girl's soft, adorable voice is incredibly soothing. It's just that the overall style of the scene is a bit off.
What was supposed to be a questioning turned into self-praise all of a sudden.
