Chapter 422 Teasing the Fat Woman

"It seems the Princess knows her family very well. When she returned, the house was indeed occupied by that wicked woman. If it weren't for Eunuch Qin, they wouldn't have been able to get the house. All things considered, Nianniang should remember this kindness."

After Su Nianniang lowered her guard against Cen Xi, she was more willing to talk to him. Besides, Eunuch Qin had indeed helped her, so she was naturally grateful.

"She was already quite fat before I left, and now she's even fatter than before. She can barely move her feet, and even bending over is difficult. How is she supposed to work in the fields?"

Cen Xi could hardly imagine what it would be like for such a fat woman to work in the fields.

"She's not good at any work, all she thinks about is eating. I mean all the men in that house have gone to work, while she's probably gone back to her parents' house to freeload. After all, the village chief doesn't need her to eat anything."

Su Nianniang's face was full of sarcasm whenever she mentioned that woman, clearly showing her disdain.

"Oh, I see. I'd like to meet her."

Cen Xi chuckled softly, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Given her usual habits, she should be back soon. Why don't we wait at the door? When she comes back and sees that we look exactly alike, I'm sure her expression will be quite something."

Su Nianniang was often bullied by that wicked old woman. If she could get revenge today, she would be happy to go with the princess to tease that fat woman.

"Okay! Let's go out and wait, stand at their door, and we can stay overnight there."

Cen Xi smiled slyly, took Su Nianniang's arm, and strode out.

“Your Highness, the house next door is dirty. You should come back and stay here later. I have already prepared a room for you. This house has been renovated and is no longer as dilapidated as it used to be.”

When Eunuch Qin heard that Cen Xi wanted to stay at someone else's house, he immediately objected. The family next door was always uncouth and they were not worthy of their princess.

"Alright! Don't worry, Father-in-law. I just want to scare that fat woman and have some fun."

Cen Xi nodded, smiled gently revealing eight teeth, and then took Su Nianniang's hand and continued walking forward.

Su Nianniang seemed to like Cen Xi's personality, so she let her pull her along, and the two of them walked to the door of Li Dazhu's house next door in a few quick steps.

Upon seeing the stone steps outside the large rented house, Cen Xi didn't care about formalities and simply sat down on the steps with his legs spread wide.

"Your Highness is so unrefined. I thought noble people like you would never do such a vulgar thing."

Su Nianniang chuckled and sat down next to Cen Xi.

"I have never liked to be fussy about details. Sitting on the ground is something I often do. You don't need to be surprised. A princess like me is completely different from the princesses in the imperial city. If you use their standards to judge me, I would be a disgrace to the royal family."

Cen Xi smiled and gave Su Nianniang a strange look before casually teasing herself.

"The Princess is so humorous!"

Su Nianniang couldn't help but smile knowingly.

As soon as she finished laughing, she felt the ground around her tremble. Clearly, the fat woman from the Li family had returned.

"You... Su Nianniang! Oh my god! There are two Su Nianniangs! Help! There's a ghost!"

When Fat Aunt Li saw two identical faces appear at her doorstep, she hesitated at first. Then, as if she had suddenly thought of something, her fat face turned into a look of panic, and she started shouting at the top of her lungs.

"A ghost? Where would a ghost come from in broad daylight?"

Her wailing startled several villagers who had just returned from work. They all appeared behind the fat woman, each carrying a hoe and sickle.

"Look there! Look at our front door, there are two Su Nianniangs sitting there. Isn't that a ghost?"

Aunt Li's eyes practically popped out of their sockets as she frequently pointed people out to the villagers with her fat hands.

"Where did this ghost come from in broad daylight, Aunt Li! Did you eat too much fatty meat and get high blood pressure, or even a stroke?"

Seeing her so comical, Cen Xi's laughter stretched to her ears; this fat woman was just too funny.

"You...you are not the same person?"

Aunt Li was very familiar with this speaking style. It had been almost two years, and she still vividly remembered the experience of being beaten back then. This person was definitely not Su Nianniang.

Rather, it was the woman who willingly married the philanthropist Wang.

"Yes, you're quite perceptive. I remember before I got married, you were practically frozen solid, and none of the men in your family wanted to take care of you. I never expected you to recover and be able to jump around like that again. I'm truly impressed!"

Seeing that the fat woman recognized her, Cen Xi's smile became even more mischievous.

"You... how did you get back? Didn't Master Wang say you ran away?"

The fat woman was so shocked that she stammered. She now fully understood what was going on; this person was definitely not Su Nianniang.

I used to think so, but when Su Nianniang came back to ask for the house, the previous misunderstanding was cleared up. The villagers also knew that the woman who had married Wang Dashan was a woman from out of town who had been saved by Liu Xiangong.

After she shouted like that, the villagers behind her understood what was going on, but seeing that the Liu family was about to start a fight with the fat woman again, everyone naturally wanted to see a good show, so they didn't leave.

"Just because you ran away doesn't mean you can't come back? I remember you, big sister. You were so good to us back then. You stole our food and then scolded us. That's why I miss you so much. I came back to see you on my way here. So, I guess I still have some feelings for you?"

Cen Xi raised an eyebrow, her smile incredibly irritating.

"I...! I..., I didn't mean it. Please, young lady, have mercy on me. I'm the kind of person whose eyes light up when I see grain, so... so I was blinded by greed and stole your family's grain."

"I...Is it too late for me to apologize now?"

Fat Aunt Li had personally experienced this woman's ruthless methods, and she didn't want to lose her hands and feet again and be bullied by her husband, Li Dazhu, so she awkwardly begged for mercy.

"It's understandable that you're taking the grain because you're too fat and love to eat. But Aunt Li, what about taking the house? That house is my husband's ancestral home. It has nothing to do with you. Why did you take it when Qin Gonggong and I came back?"

Su Nianniang finally understood why Cen Xi had deliberately sat at the Li family's door to pick a fight with this woman.

So there was a grain-grabbing incident back then.

Thinking of this woman's despicable behavior, Su Nianniang couldn't help but feel a little scared. After her husband died, if it weren't for this woman, her children probably wouldn't have lived long.

Putting everything else aside, we'd starve to death.

They also suffer from bullying from their neighbors.

"Me? I...!"

When it came to the matter of seizing the house, Fat Aunt Li really had no excuse. To put it bluntly, her demand for the house next door was an act of bullying, and she had no way to refute it.
