Chapter 36 The First Date?

How can one successfully dine with the idol of countless young girls?

Ms. Yu Nian, who is currently having fun with Song Ci (in Fuzhou dialect, it means to play or go shopping), has the right to speak.

The person who said they would pick up Yu Nian for dinner today arrived early. They went to Yu Nian's house to pick her up at 3 pm. This person must be starving.

As a result, Yu Nian only managed to apply a quick layer of lipstick before heading out.

"Let's go, where are you taking me? It's three o'clock, you can't be taking me out to eat right now, can you?" Yu Nian said to the man as she got into the familiar passenger seat.

The man, who had been caught out of his little scheme, was not embarrassed at all. He stared at Yu Nian, who had gone out without makeup, and felt an extraordinary sense of closeness to her.

"Take you to my world."

As soon as Song Ci finished speaking, he stepped on the gas, and the car shot off with a whoosh.

Yu Nian's inner monologue: Hmm! Great! No wonder he's a race car driver! I almost threw up the milk tea I just drank.

Fortunately, the destination wasn't far, which prevented Yu Nian from throwing up all the food she had eaten at noon.

She gets carsick, especially cars driven by race car drivers.

How do you successfully have dinner with your idol? The answer is to get carsick and throw up, and then that person will feel guilty and treat you to a big meal.

Song Ci brought Yu Nian to the racetrack in the city center, to his own territory, and he was filled with excitement.

Yu Nian followed behind him, looking around. She looked unwell because of motion sickness, but she was too embarrassed to tell Song Ci that she was motion sickness.

Finally, Song Ci, who was good at reading people's expressions, noticed that Yu Nian looked a little unwell. He recalled that he had been driving too fast and that Yu Nian might be a little carsick. The man's face was full of guilt.

Yu Nian watched as he suddenly strode into the lounge, and about half a minute later, he came out with a cup of hot water.

"I'm sorry, Niannian, I was driving too fast just now. Are you feeling unwell? Would you like some hot water?"

Yu Nian took the cup from Song Ci and drank a few sips, feeling much better.

After resting for five minutes, Yu Nian was now radiant. Only then did she take a good look at the racetrack. It seemed to have been cleared out; apart from her, Song Ci, and a bunch of luxury cars, there was hardly anyone else around.

"Is this where you usually train?" Yu Nian saw that there were also fitness equipment and rest rooms next to it, so she guessed that Song Ci was a regular here.

"Yes, I come here to train when I'm in Nanyang."

Looking at the various fitness equipment and the few race cars in the corners whose bodies were worn down beyond recognition, Yu Nian sighed inwardly, "Every profession has its difficulties."

"These cars aren't yours, are they? The doors are all crushed." Each car is marked with the number 20, and the driver for car number 20 is Song Ci.

"Yes, this white one was hit by an opponent when I was 18 years old and participating in the Tokyo Supercar Championship. It was my first race car."

Yu Nian walked to the other side of the car and discovered that the car window was also broken. She could imagine how strong the impact of the collision between the two cars was.

"What about this blue one?" Yu Nian didn't want to think about Song Ci being surrounded by glass shards anymore, so she turned her head and pointed to another car and asked.

When asked the question, Song Ci seemed lost in memories and took a long time to answer Yu Nian.

“This is one of my teammates’ cars. It’s been sitting here for almost four years.” Song Ci spoke coldly, but the clenched fist beneath his fist betrayed his unease and suppressed emotions.

"Four years? Teammate? Has he retired?"

"He didn't retire, he just will never come back to pick up his car again. Four years ago, during a race in Bangkok, his car crashed, and he and his G630 remained in Bangkok forever."

Yu Nian was still deeply shocked when she heard Song Ci say those words calmly.

She knew that he was a famous race car driver named Qiao Shen, who had won many awards at home and abroad. However, fate was cruel to him, and because his car spontaneously combusted during the race, Qiao Shen's life was forever frozen at the age of 24.

Yu Nian knew about this international news, but she didn't expect that Qiao Shen was actually Song Ci's good friend, the one who introduced him to racing.

“He said he would come back to pick up the Alfa Romeo 156 after the Bangkok race. He said it was the car he wanted most, so he asked my dad to buy it for him as a 24th birthday present. Unfortunately, he never even got the chance to ride in it.”

Yu Nian had never seen Song Ci like this before; his eyes were filled with sorrow as he looked at the car.

Yu Nian walked over and patted him on the shoulder, an idea popping into her mind: "Song Ci, let's drive this car today."

Song Ci thought Yu Nian wanted him to drive the car, so he nodded and was about to open the car door.

"Hey, don't move." Yu Nian grabbed Song Ci's hand as he was about to open the car door and hurriedly said to him, "It's not you who should open it, it's me!"

Before Song Ci could react, Yu Nian had already climbed into the driver's seat.

Song Ci was stunned as he watched Yu Nian's smooth and fluid movements.
