Since the last drinking party, Yu Nian has increasingly wanted to travel abroad to clear her mind. But traveling abroad is not about escaping; it's about letting go of those distracting thoughts that only add to her worries and welcoming a better version of herself.
She was utterly disgusted with her own feigned composure. What doesn't belong to her simply doesn't belong to her. In the past, she wanted to be good to someone; from now on, she only wanted to be good to herself. Men and unrequited love, all of them, could go away.
Over the years, she gave up many things she loved in order to follow Luo Sheng: her favorite school, her favorite major, and her favorite city. She never imagined that after all these years of wandering, she would ultimately lose herself because of love. Ironically, the person she had been with for over a decade chose someone else in the end.
If she hadn't fallen for Luo Sheng, and there hadn't been this so-called arranged marriage, she probably would have chosen her favorite major and done what she loved.

"Dad, I want to go abroad and see the world." After making her decision, Yu Nian went home and told her father, her eyes filled with an unwavering determination.
Yu's father, who was reading the newspaper, looked up at Yu Nian and said without hesitation, "Going abroad? Why do you suddenly want to go abroad? Sure, go with your brother Luo Sheng. It's safer to have a boy with you."
Yu Nian shook her head. "I want to go out for a walk. And Dad too. This time I'll go by myself."
Mr. Yu put down the newspaper, his words tinged with doubt.
"What's wrong, my Niannian? Did you have a fight with your brother Luosheng?"
Brother Luo Sheng, Brother Luo Sheng, this was the name she called out every day when she was little.
But ever since she found out that Baijiu also called him brother, she has refused to call him that anymore.
"No, Dad, I just want to go out for a walk to clear my head."
Just as Mr. Yu was about to continue the conversation, he was silenced by a murderous look from Mrs. Yu, who had just come downstairs.
"Oh my dear daughter, why are you suddenly going abroad? Your Aunt Luo just told me when you and Luo Sheng are going to have your engagement banquet. Now that you're going abroad, I don't know when you'll be back. Why don't we get engaged first?" Mother Yu patted her daughter's shoulder and asked very gently.

After hearing their daughter's words, Mr. and Mrs. Yu exchanged glances, knowing that their daughter had something on her mind. However, they were also afraid that their daughter would regret it. After all, their daughter had followed Luo Sheng around since she was a child, and no one could not see that Nian Nian liked Luo Sheng.
"Okay, my darling daughter, I understand what you mean. But Mommy will just ask you one more question: do you really not like Luo Sheng anymore? Do you really not want to get engaged to him?"
At this moment, Yu's mother looked serious. In fact, ever since the last time the two families ate together, she had noticed that the relationship between the two children was a little off. It seemed that Luo Sheng's thoughts were not on Niannian at all.
“Yes, Mom. I don’t like Luo Sheng anymore. Please, Dad, cancel the engagement between our two families. It would be better for both of us.” Yu Nian spoke calmly, while her parents exchanged bewildered glances.
"Okay, then you can get ready to go abroad for a trip. Your father and I will take care of things at home. I'll talk to your Aunt Luo about the engagement."

Seeing their daughter smile again, Mr. and Mrs. Yu were relieved, but they felt that the reason why Niannian suddenly wanted to go abroad was not so simple.
After getting her parents' permission, Yu Nian felt much better and immediately bought a plane ticket to France when she returned to her room.
France, a place that is said to be very romantic, is the country she wants to visit.
Over the years, she followed Luo Sheng to the United States and Russia. In addition, she was busy with her studies and often regretted not having been to France.
Now, she seemed to see her bright future ahead, and a smile spread across her beautiful face.

Mr. and Mrs. Yu knew that the engagement was off.
