Chapter 105 A Crash Course in Cunning: Not Washing Hands After Using the Toilet

Pushing open the door, it's time to settle old scores, not partnerships.

Li Laoda (Li Yiyi's eldest son) is considering whether to give her a crash course in cunning and shrewdness. His daughter still has a lot to learn.

The idea flashed through his mind, but Boss Li felt it wouldn't work.

Learning theory without applying it is a waste of time. It's better to practice and teach in real-world situations, and develop your own wisdom through wit and experience.

Who is it?

Inside the house, Li Lao Er asked cautiously, fearing it was Li Lao Tai knocking on the door. If she opened it, all their savings of fifty cents would be gone again.

They were terrified. Not only Li Laosan and Li Laosi, but even Li Laoer was shaken by Li Laotai's surprise inspection.

Grandma Li reaped a bountiful harvest, while they themselves were destitute.

"Second brother, it's me."

The familiar voice made Li Lao Er lower his guard, but the next second his heart jumped again.

What are you doing here, Boss Li? You're not here to cover for Old Lady Li, are you?

"Big brother, is there anything I can help you with? If not, we'll go to sleep."

Signaling to Zhao Dahua not to panic, Li Lao Er waited quietly for an answer.

[Father, Li Lao Er is wary of you; it looks like he doesn't plan to let us in.]

I never imagined that I, Li Yiyi, would one day be turned away at the door.

A small, speechless look was given to Li Yiyi; the eldest brother didn't want to hear his drama queen daughter go crazy.

"Second brother, I have something to tell you, it's about the third brother."

The third brother's allure was immense; Zhao Dahua became restless, while Li Lao Er managed to remain somewhat composed.

"Big brother, are you all alone?"

"Second Uncle, I'm here too."

Those who dawdle and hesitate are not the kind of people who can accomplish great things. Zhao Dahua is the epitome of someone who can do great things in her eyes.

Through the door, Zhao Dahua urged,

"Master, open the door quickly."

There was no evidence that Li Jiafu was bitten by a dog, or that Li Jiaqiang fell into the river because of Li Fuyi, but Zhao Dahua's intuition told her that Li Fuyi was definitely involved.

The brigade leader could say this at the threshing ground: it's all her fault. She was so focused on finding fault with the third branch of the family that she forgot about the wicked Li Fuyi.

Even if Boss Li came to her door in person, she would beg on her knees to get him if she had any dirt on the third branch of the family.

"OK."

Li Lao Er was also heartbroken by the suffering his son had endured. He steeled himself, pulled the door open, and...

Indeed, it was only Boss Li and Li Yiyi.

Li Lao Er and Zhao Da Hua both breathed a sigh of relief; their gamble had paid off, as Li Lao Tai hadn't come along.

"Brother, come in!"

The lights in the other rooms were off, so Li Lao Er and Zhao Da Hua weren't worried about being seen.

"Big brother, what is this matter you mentioned about the third brother?"

The door bolt hadn't been put on yet, and Zhao Dahua asked anxiously. Li Lao Er rushed over.

The two men's four eyes were fixed on Li Laoda and Li Yiyi.

[Bigger than eyes! Mine is bigger than both of yours combined.]

Unconvinced, she glared back, her eyes wide with disbelief. Then, Boss Li used his hand to turn Li Yiyi's head in another direction.

Daughter, if you keep doing this, I think you've already mastered a crash course in cunning.

They're here to deliver messages, to act as a scout, not to stand there and stare blankly.

Li Lao Da pulled out a pre-written slip of paper and handed it to Li Lao Er. It contained only a few simple words, all of which Li Lao Er recognized.

No, Dad, when did you write that note behind my back?

After recalling for a moment, Li Yiyi had no recollection of it.

After Li Lao Er understood what was going on, Li Lao Da casually took the note and burned it over the kerosene lamp; he wouldn't leave himself any leverage.

When was it written? Older Li didn't answer. There's still so much for his daughter to learn.

"Li Lao Er, you son of a bitch, why aren't you sleeping at night? Do you think kerosene is free?!"

Old Mrs. Li's shrill voice came from the courtyard, so penetrating that Li Yi covered her ears.

As if trained, Li Lao Er blew out the fire, Zhao Da Hua covered the lamp with a lampshade, and Li Yi Yi took the opportunity to collect the burned paper notes.

It was done in one go, as if it had been rehearsed thousands of times.

The lights went out, and Old Lady Li grumbled and cursed for a long time before finally leaving.

In the darkness, Li Yiyi saw Zhao Dahua and Li Lao Er's legs trembling like leaves, gaining a new understanding of Li Laotai's fighting prowess.

Dad, you've had it so tough.

For no apparent reason, Li Laoda received sympathy from his daughter, but he couldn't ask why.

"Second brother, just now..."

Before he could finish speaking, a hand landed on his mouth.

"Dad, Uncle didn't wash his hands after using the outhouse."

The thought startled Li Laoda, who quickly retreated. Fortunately, the second room was empty, so he didn't have to worry about bumping into anything.

"Brother, please keep your voice down."

Li Lao Er's voice was so soft it was almost inaudible. Li Lao Da's lips twitched, and he felt a surge of admiration for Li Lao Tai.

What an amazing person!

He tormented Li Lao Er and Zhao Da Hua to the point that they were terrified of even the slightest sound; he's truly a rare talent.

"Second brother, did you wash your hands in the outhouse?"

Keeping the words in mind, Li Lao Er first asked the questions he was concerned about, and consciously lowered his voice to avoid being covered up again.

"It's been washed."

He didn't understand, but Li Lao Er still answered honestly.

Very well, I'll make a note of this for my daughter. She dared to lie to him; she'll get a spanking when we get home.

[Dad, I didn't expect you to be so particular about cleanliness too. You've come up with the same idea as me.]

[Dad, we truly are father and daughter; this is what it means to be of one heart and mind.]

[Dad, I love you so much.]

I love him to death!

"Forget it, my daughter didn't do it on purpose," a smile bloomed on her face. Old Master Li really liked what Li Yiyi meant by father and daughter being of one mind.

"Second brother, did you understand the note I just showed you?"
