Chapter 24 The Secluded Cowshed, Grandfather and Grandson Zhou



Li Yiyi showered Li Laoda with compliments as if they were free, and Li Laoda couldn't suppress the urge to smile.

There's no way around it; his character is just that noble.

"Old Zhou."

He called out softly and waited quietly for the person inside to open the door.

Li Yiyi felt the surname sounded familiar, but couldn't quite place it.

"Uncle Li."

A little boy opened the door, looked around cautiously, and only opened it again when he saw no one else, letting Li Laoda and Li Yiyi in.

Good heavens, is this even a place for humans to live?

Li Yiyi felt her worldview had been shaken. The cowshed wasn't large, about nine square meters. The old man was lying inside, leaving only enough space for a few people to stand.

The place was stuffy, and the smoke from the burning firewood almost made Li Yi cry. Combined with the lingering smell of cow dung, Li Yi just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, Li Laoda's matter was not yet finished, and Li Yiyi still had to risk her life to accompany her father.

A few rays of light shone through the uncovered parts of the thatch, allowing Li Yiyi to see the child and the old man more clearly.

The elderly and children have one thing in common: pride.

The old man was dressed in rags, his thin face bearing the marks of illness, and a hint of arrogance between his brows ruined his originally weathered and unyielding spirit.

The child was also poorly dressed, with two toes sticking out of his shoes. He seemed to have a good spirit and a chubby face, but a hint of disdain inadvertently emanated from him, making it hard not to like him.

Once inside, the two went about their own business, ignoring Li the Elder completely and not even glancing at him.

Clearly, Boss Li was familiar with the two men's character.
