Chapter 30: Blocking the Road to Demand an Explanation, Boss Li is Resented

"Third brother, even a day as husband and wife is a hundred days of kindness. You and your wife are husband and wife, there is no hurdle you can't overcome. If you coax her a little, she will definitely stop being angry."

He picked up a piece of food and offered it to Li Laosan. Noticing the flicker of interest in Li Laosan's eyes, Li Laosi's eyes gleamed slightly. Only he knew what he was truly thinking.

"Third Brother, Fu Bao is still your daughter, and her surname is Li, not Wang."

"Fourth brother, you're right."

With his last reservations dispelled, Li Laosan realized he had misunderstood Li Laosi. There was nothing wrong with Laosi wanting to buy a job; who wouldn't want one?

"Mom, I'll go pick her up this afternoon."

"Yes, bring them back as soon as possible. We can't let outsiders benefit from the things belonging to the Li family."

I don't know what to say, but it's really shameless. For over a week, when she was eating at the Wang family's house, why didn't Old Lady Li say anything? Now that she's benefiting, she thinks it's because someone else is taking advantage of her.

Holding a small spoon, Li Yi took a bite of the steamed egg custard, completely baffled by Grandma Li's idea.

[I'll be facing off against Li Fuyi this afternoon, so I need to figure out what's going on with the dark aura surrounding her.]

The female lead's good fortune seems to have come rather strangely.

The moment Li Yiyi gained cultivation, she took out the previously sealed black energy to examine it.

If she hadn't been careful and hadn't been watching from inside the spatial dimension, she probably would have been attacked by the black energy. The moment she released the talisman, the black energy immediately attacked her.

It resembles neither a fish nor a snake; it's quite bizarre.

Her cultivation level was insufficient to contend with it, but she was the master of this space, the controller of this entire realm. With a thought, the black energy dissipated, leaving behind just as many unanswered questions.

Li Fuyi is coming back, so of course she wants to take a good look at her.

As winter approached, there was very little work to be done in the production team, and Li Laoda stopped going to work. Li Laotai wanted to say something but didn't know what to say.

Seeing Li Laoda and Jiang Yuting cooking for Li Yiyi every day made her feel very sad.

But she had said before that what she acquired was hers, and the smaller items didn't need to be handed over to Zhonggong. Li Lao Er and Li Lao San didn't have that ability; the family had always lived peacefully.

She was very uncomfortable with Li Laoda's ability and wanted to find evidence of Li Laoda and Jiang Yuting's secrets, but the two of them were like rats, very sharp, and she couldn't find any evidence at all.

Ignoring Old Lady Li's murderous glare, Li the eldest carried Li Yi out the door; it was time for their hunt.

Every now and then, you could see Old Li carrying Li Yiyi to the back hill, but each time his hands were empty. The rumors circulating in the production team grew more and more outrageous.

The story goes that Li Yiyi couldn't find a suitable burial plot for herself, which is why Li Laoda kept going up the mountain.

"Dad, why are they looking at me like that?"

It seems like they're sympathizing with me.

It was Aunt Hua's group who watched Li Laoda and Li Yiyi leave. Li Laoda didn't think much of it.

"Daughter, let's go to the cave we visited the other day."

Reaching the entrance to the mountain, Boss Li looked at Zhou Wenzhu in front of him, not understanding why he was stopping him.

He and his daughter came out on a mission.

"Uncle Li."

Concealing the hatred in her eyes, Zhou Wenzhu greeted them casually.

[Father, the male lead hates you. Did you do something heinous behind my and Mother's back?]

After practicing cultivation, Li Yi became more sensitive to other people's feelings of good or bad.

Li Laoda: He's innocent! He didn't do anything!

"Uncle Li, my grandfather has died."

With reddened eyes, Zhou Wenzhu choked out,

My condolences.

Li Laoda said something sincere, but to Zhou Wenzhu,

That's not enough, not at all. He killed his grandfather; how can you pretend nothing happened?

My condolences.

[Young protagonist, this is all for the sake of the plot. Your grandfather was destined to die, and his death adds a touch of color to your tragic past.]

In other words, he died for you, so don't be too sad.

Li Laoda tugged at Li Yiyi's little tuft of hair, and the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.

"ah"

[Dad, what are you doing? Your head can be severed, your blood can flow, but your hairstyle must not be messed up! Don't you know that?]

"Uncle Li, don't you have anything to say?"

Watching the father and daughter bickering in front of her, Zhou Wenzhu couldn't hold back any longer.

His enemy stood before him, yet he could not exact revenge; it was all because he was too weak.

"I've said what you wanted me to say."

His heart skipped a beat. Zhou Wenzhu's appearance was strange; her eyes were like a wolf cub's, and her hands were clenched into fists. It seemed she harbored a great deal of resentment towards him.

[Hiss, Dad, Zhou Wenzhu won't blame you for his grandfather's death, will she?]

Li Laoda: Girl, you're right.

[What kind of logic is this? What does your grandfather's death have to do with my dad? Helping you makes him feel superior, and not helping you is considered an offense.]

An ingrate is an ingrate, no matter how you look at it.

"Uncle Li, my grandfather starved to death."

Tears welled in Zhou Wenzhu's eyes, but she held them back tightly, refusing to let them fall.

"Zhou Wenzhu, you don't blame me for your grandfather starving to death, do you?!"

Li stopped laughing and stared coldly at Zhou Wenzhu. His height advantage made Zhou Wenzhu feel breathless, but she refused to back down.

"It's ridiculous. Your grandfather is so high and mighty that he thinks I'm helping you to be a good person, to give you charity, and to fulfill your wishes. Now that I'm not helping you anymore, you're blaming me instead."

"Aren't you just giving us charity?"

Zhou Wenzhu pursed her lips, unwilling to accept it. She said, "After our family fell on hard times, everyone distanced themselves from us. The occasional sliver of coarse grain that Old Li brings over is practically charity."

You know, coarse grains were what their dog used to eat. If they really wanted to help, why wouldn't they offer something better? Old Li is capable; he has plenty of resources to help them. Giving them coarse grains would be charity.
