Chapter 4 Safe Birth, Li Fuyi's Malice

"How could that be? All my money goes to my daughter."

The voice grew softer and softer. Old Li, reflecting on his behavior over the past few years, realized he'd been nothing but a complete scoundrel. It wasn't just him bragging; if he hadn't occasionally brought back things from the back mountain, no matter how much Old Lady Li loved Li Fuyi, she wouldn't have grown into such a plump and healthy young woman.

Fortunately, she still had some sense; she kept most of the money—it was for her own family.

"My daughter also said she's been sickly since birth. Li Aiguo, if it weren't for her reminding me today, what do you think she would have done...?"

Facing her husband, Jiang Yuting, though composed, had tears welling in her eyes. This was the daughter she had longed for for five years of marriage. If it weren't for the accident that happened when Li Laoda was saving her parents, she might still be unable to have children.

Looking down at Li Laoda's lower jaw, Jiang Yuting realized her daughter was right.

Boss Li's place must be broken.

"Wife, it's me."

Covering his sensitive areas, Li Laoda was unusually shy. Realizing that the person in front of him was his beloved wife, Li Laoda calmly let go of her. He had already seen and used her, so why was he afraid to see her again?

“Wife, our daughter is right. Saving our parents back then must have left some aftereffects. We need some compensation tonight.”

Suddenly, Boss Li reverted to his old rogue self, and everyone was familiar with him.

“We have no evidence of what happened to our daughter-in-law, so we can’t say for sure that Li Fuyi did it. From now on, we should stay away from the third wife’s family, especially since Li Fuyi is very strange.”

Jiang Yuting nodded. Thankfully, her daughter had reminded them; otherwise, they would have continued acting like saints indefinitely.

And then there's Li Fuyi, a five-year-old child. For her to think of these things is just eerie. She doesn't seem like the female lead; she seems like a wicked spirit.

"Wife, wait for me. I'll go stew the pheasant right away. You can have the drumsticks and wings."

If he lets Li Fuyi gain any more advantage, he's a dog.

"Uncle."

Li Fuyi, who had been following Li Laoda like a leech outside the door, brightened up when she saw him enter the kitchen.

"Uncle."

Thinking that Boss Li hadn't heard her, Li Fuyi moved closer. Smelling the aroma of chicken, she couldn't help but lick her lips.

She hadn't eaten a chicken leg in three days. She thought Boss Li would give her one, but instead, Boss Li, carrying the whole pot, walked around her and went back to his room.

"Uncle... Uncle."

The chicken leg was gone, and Li Fuyi felt extremely wronged, always feeling that her eldest brother, Li, had changed.

Just as her mother had said, her uncle and aunt would stop liking her once they had their own child. She wished they didn't have a child; a strong sense of malice surged through Jiang Yuting's stomach.

Jiang Yuting was in excruciating pain in her stomach, and she kept feeling someone forcefully tearing at her baby.

"Patriotism, child, child."

Her rosy face turned deathly pale in an instant. Jiang Yuting clutched her stomach and squatted down against the bed. Boss Li had just entered the room when he saw the scene before him.

"Wife, wife."

Fortunately, he still retained some rationality. After carrying Jiang Yuting to the bed, Li Laoda quickly ran outside to search for her in the fields. The moment he stepped out of the courtyard, Li Laoda caught a glimpse of malice in Li Fuyi's eyes.

Before he could even feel alarmed, Old Li, with all his might, summoned the village's barefoot doctor and Li Fumin's mother. The doctor and midwife were both there, and Old Li stood anxiously at the door.

The entire Li family returned, and not only was the eldest son anxious, but the rest of them were too.

Old Mrs. Li and Old Mr. Li felt guilty. That year, their eldest son, Li, had just gotten married. He had saved them in a small incident and was injured in that area. After five years, she had finally conceived a child. How could they not be excited? Regardless of whether they wanted to raise the child or not, they wanted to leave a child for Li's eldest son.

Li Lao Er and his wife genuinely hoped Jiang Yuting would have a safe delivery, while Li Lao San and Wang Yiting stood aside gloating, and Li Fuyi's eyes gleamed.

Don't give birth, don't give birth.

She kept praying that Li Fuyi didn't like Li Yiyi, always feeling that Li Yiyi's appearance would steal away the love that Li Laoda and Jiang Yuting had for her.

Jiang Yuting was unaware of the thoughts of the people outside; she had only one belief.

Her daughter, the daughter she longed for, Jiang Yuting bit her lower lip tightly, straining with all her might to ensure Li Yiyi's safe delivery.

Li Yiyi was sleeping soundly when suddenly a black mist enveloped her. Strangely, this black mist was mixed with golden light, making it extremely bizarre.

With a wave of her hand and a thought, a sealing talisman appeared in her palm. She tried to seal the energy, but the talisman became wet upon contact with water.

This damn life.

Li Yi sighed inwardly, then put the wet talisman back into her spatial storage. She took out another exorcism talisman, and the black aura dissipated, and the pain in her abdomen disappeared.

Hearing her daughter's heartfelt words, Jiang Yuting felt hopeful; her daughter was still safe.

[As expected, the power of the plot is strong; fate deliberately made her a sickly character, serving as a contrast to the female lead.]

After making a brief complaint, Li Yiyi wriggled her little body along the passage and crawled out.

Mother, I'm here.

Jiang Yuting took to heart what Li Yiyi had said unintentionally. Through the door, she thought she saw Li Fuyi. Playing along with Li Yiyi, Jiang Yuting quickly focused her attention on Li Yiyi.

If anyone is to ask what birth feels like, Li Yiyi is the most qualified to answer: it's probably going from a place where you can't see the light to a place full of light.

Exhausted, Li Yiyi babbled twice and fell asleep. Jiang Yuting propped herself up and hugged her daughter, feeling a heavy sense of loss and reunion.

When Li Yiyi woke up again, only Jiang Yuting and Li Aiguo were left in the room.

"Wife, this must be our daughter. She's so beautiful. Her nose and eyes are just like yours, and her mouth is just like mine."

Leaning against the bedside, looking at Li Yiyi, Li Aiguo's heart softened. This was his daughter, the daughter his beloved wife had given birth to, the daughter who shared his blood.

Sure enough, my own daughter is the best; she's just different from other people's daughters.

Overwhelmed with paternal love, Li Aiguo, unable to find an outlet for his passion, could only stare at Li Yiyi with a lovesick gaze.

[Oh my god, it's so ugly! Where did this alien come from? It's so ugly, get away from me!]

Li Yiyi couldn't open her eyes, but her consciousness remained. What she saw was Li Laoda's magnified features and enormous nostrils. Li Yiyi's face immediately changed, and her tiny consciousness twisted into a flower shape.

Boss Li: ? ? ?

He's ugly. Does your daughter have any taste? I'm not bragging, but there's no one in the production team better looking than him. What kind of taste does your daughter have?

Li Aiguo was inwardly weeping, but outwardly remained calm. He and Jiang Yuting tacitly pretended not to hear Li Yiyi's inner thoughts.

"puff"

Jiang Yuting couldn't help but laugh; she had never seen Boss Li so aggrieved.

[Mother, Mother is so beautiful, a beauty...slurp slurp.]

"Baby."

Seeing her daughter swooning over her, Jiang Yuting felt both amused and loving. Postpartum, Jiang Yuting exuded a delicate fragility and a maternal glow as she gently patted Li Yiyi's small body.
