He just took pity on him and thought it was funny, so he picked him up and raised him like a kitten or puppy. After finishing his last job, he wanted to get rid of him. Dream on!

Li Wuchi almost told Zhou Wenzhu about the money hidden at the bottom of his clothes, but thinking of his mother's tearful face and her repeated instructions, Li Wuchi regained his composure and ultimately didn't say it.
Zhou Wenzhu took Li Wuchi back to the cowshed where he lived, and told him not to be discovered. When the time was right, he and Li Fuyi would clean the sheep pen and pig pen every day.
