Chapter 69 Even a sudden disaster isn't that outrageous.

“Li Laoda is Fubao’s uncle. They haven’t separated their family yet. If you report this tomorrow and they find out something, will Fubao’s family be implicated?”

"What should I do? I don't want to hurt Fu Bao."

"After listening to what he had to say, the reason I told Fu Bao about this was to help her distance herself from Boss Li and clear her of suspicion."

"I don't expect the simple-minded Li Wuchi to understand what I'm saying right away," Zhou Wenzhu said firmly.

"Wu Chi, if you want revenge, you have to listen to me. Trust me, I don't want Fu Bao to get hurt even more than you do."

An uncomfortable feeling welled up inside Li Wuchi. He instinctively disliked Zhou Wenzhu's attitude towards Fu Bao. Looking around in confusion, Li Wuchi muttered to himself,

"Brother Wenzhu, I understand. I will do as you say."

He wanted to avenge his parents; he had no other way out but to listen to Zhou Wenzhu for a glimmer of hope.

Confusion transformed into determination. Li Wuchi stopped asking questions and ate his meat heartily, his eyes slowly welling up with tears.

Zhou Wenzhu frowned, not wanting to look at Li Wuchi, and looked away, closing her eyes slightly.

Eat up.

After tomorrow, there will be no more chances to eat it. As if she could see her grandfather's smile, Zhou Wenzhu's lips curved into a smile.

Sure enough, Grandpa was killed by Boss Li, otherwise why would he appear in his dream?

"Achoo!"

Li sneezed again, confused about what was wrong with him lately. He felt a chill involuntarily creeping up his spine, as if he were being watched by something.

Li Yiyi spared a glance from her small toy at Li Laoda, a hint of disdain in her eyes.

[Dad, you're way too weak!]

Frequent sneezing may indicate shortness of breath. If so, it's important to address it promptly for prompt treatment.

"Fine, since you're my dad, I'll give you this amulet for free."

This is a special price for friends; next time it will be charged.

The talisman material appeared in her hand from her spatial storage. Li Yiyi smiled at her eldest brother, Li Laoda, and stretched out her little hand.

"Daddy, hug me."

He was putting on quite a show; if he hadn't heard his daughter's inner monologue, he would have definitely fallen for her sweet, childlike voice.

Despite his constant complaining, his hands betrayed him as he hugged Li Yiyi, perfectly demonstrating his bluntness despite his resentment.

"Come here, let Daddy hold you."

As soon as the baby was in his arms, Li Laoda felt the scent of milk everywhere.

It's only because their family is wealthy and he's capable that their daughter gets milk. Other babies walk on their own by one year old, but their little darling is carried around all the time. I don't know who she takes after—so lazy!

"Dad, you're so good, you're the best dad in the world."

Her words, as sweet as honey, made Boss Li feel elated, unable to suppress the smile on his face.

Li Yi clapped her hands, and the talisman went into Li Laoda's body.

"Dad, put me down! I want to sleep."

Struggling to get down from Li Laoda's arms, Li Yiyi's short legs hadn't taken more than a few steps before Li Laoda picked her up again.

"Don't move, Daddy will carry you back, otherwise how long will it take you to walk with your short legs?"

Ignoring Li Yiyi's angry glare, the eldest brother personally placed Li Yiyi on the bed, took off her little shoes, and then went back to his room. He wondered who had just called Li Yiyi lazy.

Where is your daughter?

When Jiang Yuting returned, she didn't see Li Yiyi.

"Wife, our daughter has gone back to her room to cultivate."

The reason given by Boss Li was good, and Jiang Yuting didn't pursue the matter further, since it was true that Li Yiyi cultivated every night.

Starting last month, they vacated the room next door for Li Yiyi to live in, which was opposed by Grandma Li and Grandpa Li, who said it was inappropriate for Li Yiyi to have a room with them.

The old lady's excuses, such as saying that the girls in the family all live with their parents, are obvious to anyone with eyes to see.

They simply wanted to reserve the room for Li Laosi so he could use it when he got married.

When his objections were ignored, Boss Li bluntly said, "Who decides what's in charge of the house? Don't keep coveting other people's things. If you want it, go fix it yourself."

Li Yiyi successfully moved into her own room. To prevent her from accidentally falling, the eldest brother thoughtfully found some wood and made a wooden ladder for the bed.

Even though Li Yiyi doesn't need it, it still makes her feel good to see it.

She needed to cultivate; she hadn't forgotten she still had an enemy. If she didn't work hard, she wouldn't even know when someone would kill her.

When it was time for Li Yiyi to cultivate, Li Laoda flipped over and pinned Jiang Yuting beneath him.

"Wife, I miss you so much."

The long night concealed the mystery and ambiguity; the swaying body made the pure white moon blush.

The moonlight tonight has a bewitching quality.

The next day was a rare day off, and Li Laoda and Li Laosan didn't have to go to work. Li Laosan was dragged to work in the fields by Li Laotai, while Li Laoda did it entirely to save face for his brother.

Captain Li Fumin was his good brother; it wouldn't be right not to offer his support.

This wasn't Li Yiyi's first time participating in a group activity; she could already recite what Li Fumin was going to say.

It was nothing more than the sentiment that labor is the most glorious thing, that everyone should work hard for the production team and to have enough to eat; it sounded pretty much true, and it stirred the blood of those who listened.

As if she could already see the wonderful life Li Fumin described, Li Yiyi felt no emotion, and even felt a slight urge to laugh.

[So, empty promises have existed for a long time.]

[Work hard, eat well, get married, have children, get recognized as an advanced worker...]

Li Fumin is a good team leader; he made grand promises that seemed too good to be true. If I hadn't known the situation, I almost would have been tempted.

[Dad, you mustn't follow the example of the brigade leader; he was forced into it.]
