Chapter 20 Wild Boar

Chapter 20 Wild Boar

Everyone was frightened by this sudden change. Gu Yan hurriedly turned back to protect his sister, but he didn't expect that although Niu Niu was short, she was very agile and hid behind a rock in an instant.

The black shadow that rushed out, as if it had no brains, crashed straight into the big rock where Niu Niu was sitting before.

Gu Yan looked at the blood-red stain on the stone and the half-dead rabbit lying on the ground, and four words emerged in his mind: Sit back and wait for the rabbit.

He once thought this story was a joke, but he didn't expect it to be true.

There really are wild rabbits that will foolishly rush towards crowded places.

"It's Tutu!" Niu Niu exclaimed.

Gu Zhao picked up the rabbit's ears, frowned, and asked seriously, "It's still breathing. Can we save it?"

Niuniu looked puzzled and asked, "Third brother, do you want to raise rabbits? I thought we had meat to eat at home..."

Gu Zhao said: "It looks very cute. If I keep this rabbit, I will have a playmate in the future."

Niu Niu said: "There is no shortage of playmates at home. Me, Big Sister Ya, Little Sister Ya, and my brothers, we are all playmates."

Gu Zhao shook his head: "This is different."

As for what exactly was different, with Gu Zhao's small head, he couldn't explain it clearly for the time being.

Niuniu nodded seriously and said, "It's really different. This playmate is edible. I saw others eat it and it was delicious."

Gu Yan looked at his younger brother and sister, and suddenly felt a sense of absurdity as if the roles were reversed. He thought Niu Niu would be the one clamoring to save the rabbit, but he didn't expect that it was his younger brother who was thinking about raising a rabbit, while the adorable little sister was almost drooling.

However, Old Man Gu looked at the wild rabbit again and again, and then he looked thoughtful.

"Grandpa, it's getting late, we should go down the mountain." Gu Yan urged.

Although it was the rabbit that made the noise, Gu Yan was still terrified, as if there was a danger approaching.

Father Gu did not move, but after a long and thoughtful moment, he said, "This rabbit was chased by something."

The way he said this didn't sound like an old farmer who knew how to make wine, but more like an experienced hunter.

As soon as he finished speaking, something jumped out from the bushes behind him.

A huge wild boar, pitch black in color and with two sharp fangs, rushed straight towards Gu Zhao.

Although wild boars and domestic pigs are both pigs, their fighting capabilities are very different. Gu Zhao had never seen such a situation before. He stood there stupidly, too scared to move.

Niu Niu suddenly moved, pulled Gu Zhao to her side, and narrowly avoided the wild boar's attack.

The wild boar failed to hit the target, so it turned around and rushed towards the crowd again.

With three children and an old man, the wild boar obviously felt that it had the upper hand. It was not afraid at all and its target was still focused on Gu Zhao and Niu Niu, who looked the weakest.

"Hurry up and climb the tree!" Niu Niu shouted.

Gu Zhao wanted to climb up the tree. Although he was usually agile, he seemed clumsy when facing this ferocious wild boar. It seemed like his feet were slipping and he was unable to use the force to climb up the big tree behind him.

Niuniu was anxious. Seeing the wild boar rushing over again, she could only hurriedly pull Gu Zhao around the tree, shouting, "Wild boar, hit the tree, hit the tree!"

The tree looked as thick as an adult's arms, and the two children struggled to get behind the tree.

The wild boar had been acting quite agile, but when it approached the tree, it seemed to be tripped by something and hit its head heavily against the trunk.

The thick tree trunk was shaken by the impact and it seemed that it would break in half if it was hit a few more times.

Even in a panic, Gu Yan couldn't help but look at Niu Niu. After all, no one expected that things would actually turn out as Niu Niu wished.

Niuniu didn't realize anything was wrong, but cheered and shouted, "It would be great if I could die like the rabbit!"

Just as he finished speaking, the wild boar, whose head was dizzy from hitting the tree trunk, staggered two steps and fell down.

Coincidentally, the wild boar's head hit a sharp stone on the ground nearby.

Once it fell, it never got up again.

Everyone stood there and listened for a moment, confirming that they did not hear the wild boar's heavy breathing, but they still could not believe that such a big wild boar weighing at least 200 kilograms could have died so casually.

While no one was paying attention, Old Man Gu quietly approached the wild boar. When Gu Yan found out, it was already completely unstoppable.

“Grandpa, what if the wild boar is not dead yet…” Gu Yan said softly.

Old Man Gu didn't even look back at the three children. Instead, he picked up a large rock nearby and smashed it hard on the wild boar's head.

Looking at this bloody scene, Gu Yan wanted to cover his brother and sister's eyes the first time.

But both children tilted their heads and stuck them out, looking at the wild boar's bloody head with curiosity.

"You can't watch it, or you will have nightmares at night!" Gu Yan reminded.

Gu Zhao just took a look and immediately shrank back in fear, not daring to look any further.

Niuniu, on the other hand, was not afraid at all when she saw this kind of thing. Instead, she asked, "Brother, haven't you ever seen a pig being slaughtered? When I was at the Zhang family, the black pigs turned white after taking a bath. The butcher stabbed them with a knife, and red blood kept flowing out..."

When Gu Yan heard this, he could already imagine the terrifying scene from the child's flimsy description.

"Children are not allowed to watch these, or they will be scared." Gu Yan warned.

But Niuniu didn't take it seriously and said, "No one ever told me not to watch it."

Although Gu Yan knew that the Zhang family was no good, he still felt a lump in his heart when he heard this.

"Brother, it's okay, I'm not scared at all..."

Niu Niu said this to Gu Yan with a smile, but before she could finish her words, without any sign, her eyes suddenly rolled up and she fell straight to the ground.

Thanks to Gu Yan who was close by and caught her, Niu Niu did not fall to the ground.

"Niuniu, what's wrong with you?"

Gu Zhao and Old Man Gu all gathered around and looked at Niu Niu with worry on their faces, not even bothering to care about the wild boar lying on the ground.

When Father Gu saw the fainted Niuniu, his expression suddenly became distorted and he said, "Nannuan...Nannuan, wake up quickly, you can't be in trouble...Dad will take you to see a doctor..."

He didn't even care about his two grandsons and the bloody wild boar behind him, and rushed down the mountain with Niu Niu in his arms.

Gu Yan and Gu Zhao stumbled along behind their grandfather, and Gu Zhao almost fell.

Fortunately, these four people had been away from home for too long and were seen by villagers entering the mountains. When Gu Mingda realized that no one was at home, he immediately called on the villagers to go into the mountains to look for them.

The two groups met halfway up the mountain.

When Gu Mingda first saw the wild boar blood on Old Man Gu's body and the unconscious Niuniu in his arms, he naturally misunderstood. He was so scared that his legs went weak and he asked, "Dad, Niuniu...what happened to her?"
