Soon the meal was ready. She served some to the two little ones and put the rest into the basket.
"After you two finish eating, wait for me to come back in the evening to wash the dishes. I'll go deliver the meal."
"Sister Mianmian, go ahead and we'll wash it ourselves."
Su Mianmian nodded when she heard that and hurried to the threshing ground again.
She saw Su Qingqing and Yun Shu resting under the shade of a tree, so she walked over, handed them the basket, and then sat down.
Su Qingqing and Yun Shu opened the basket and were surprised to see the food inside.

It was soon past nine o'clock in the evening. Yun Shu saw that the room where Su Mianmian and her husband lived was quiet, so he turned around and left the yard with the food.
The cowshed was located in a remote corner of the village, surrounded by dense trees that blocked most of the moonlight, making it look particularly eerie.
A chill ran down Yun Shu's heart. She took a deep breath, calmed her nervousness, and then walked into the cowshed.
Su Xinzhang, who was in the house, was startled when he heard the noise outside, thinking that it was his daughter who had returned.
He called out softly, "Mianmian?"
But after waiting for a while, there was no response.
Su Xinzhang began to feel uneasy. He raised his voice and asked, "Who is it?"
When Yun Shu heard the male voice coming from inside the house, her fear intensified.
She suppressed the fear in her heart and tried to make her voice sound calm, "I'm looking for Mr. Shen."
After hearing this, Su Xinzhang looked at Wen Yuexian and roughly guessed what was going on.
He nodded and said, "Wait a moment, I'll go find it." After that, he stood up and walked towards Mr. Shen's room.
After hearing what Su Xinzhang said, Mr. Shen frowned and felt a little confused.

Upon hearing this, Su Xinzhang turned and walked out of the house, bringing Yun Shu in.

Mr. Shen looked at Yun Shu, his brows still furrowed. "Shu girl, why are you here?"
Yun Shu sighed and briefly recounted his experience. "My husband and I have been living here. A few days ago, I ran into A Yuan who had gone to the countryside. He said he wanted to come and take care of you."
"What? What is that brat Ayuan doing here?" Mr. Shen said loudly when he heard it.
Yun Shu quickly tried to calm him down. "Ayuan said he was worried about you, so he came to take care of you. But he's still at the educated youth camp these days, so he can only come here after he moves out."
After hearing this, the old couple of the Shen family expressed disapproval. "What is this brat doing in the countryside? The conditions here are so harsh."
Old Madam Shen looked at Yun Shu, her eyes full of worry. "Shu girl, did anyone see you coming here?"
Yun Shu shook her head. "No, I chose this time on purpose. I heard from Ayuan that he was worried you wouldn't have enough to eat, so I came here to bring some over."

Yun Shu looked at Su Xinzhang and Wen Yuexian behind Su Mianmian, and understood what was going on.
She smiled and nodded as a greeting.
Wen Yuexian watched the interaction between her daughter and Yun Shu, and immediately realized that the two knew each other.
She asked curiously, "Mianmian, who is this?"
Su Mianmian came over, took Wen Yuexian's arm, and introduced her affectionately: "Mom, this is Aunt Shu. Ah Yan and I are living in Aunt Shu's house now. She treats us very well."
After hearing this, Wen Yuexian looked at Yun Shu with gratitude, "So that's how it is. Thank you so much!"
