He took a deep breath and said with determination: "Grandma, don't worry, I will get your granddaughter-in-law back for you right now."
When the old lady heard this, she immediately smiled and a satisfied smile appeared on her face.
She patted Shen Yuandao’s shoulder and said proudly: “Oh, I knew my eldest grandson was reliable.”
Mr. Shen nodded from time to time, "Mian girl is quite good, treat her well."
Shen Yuandao choked, speaking as if he had caught up with someone.
The three of them reminisced about the past, and Shen Yuandao stood up to say goodbye. He did not forget Qin Huaichuan who was feeding mosquitoes outside.
When Shen Yuandao came out, Qin Huaichuan had several mosquito bites on his arms and face.
"If you don't come out, my blood won't be enough for mosquitoes to drink."
Shen Yuandao looked at his face, feeling a little guilty, “Thank you.”
Qin Huaichuan waved his hand, "Hey! Why are you being so polite to me?"
The two went home without saying anything.
………………*
"Huh, I'm so tired." Su Qingqing squatted on the ground, holding her chin with her hands, complaining with a tired face.
The sunlight shone on her through the sparse clouds, giving her somewhat messy hair a golden halo and making her beautiful face even brighter.
Seeing this, Su Mianmian sighed softly and handed the kettle over. "Here, have a drink."
Su Qingqing took the kettle, tilted her head back and drank it without hesitation. The cool water flowed down her throat, taking away her fatigue. After drinking the water, she handed the kettle back to Su Mianmian.
At this moment, a strong idea suddenly emerged in Su Mianmian's mind. She wanted to go to the mountains to find some wild animals.
This idea seemed to appear out of nowhere, making her feel a little strange, but she did not delve into it further. She thought it would be a good idea to try her luck.
So she looked at Su Qingqing and said, "Qingqing, I'm going to the mountain later. Please help me bring Ayan back."
"Okay." After saying that, Su Qingqing called out to the two little guys who were still picking wheat ears in the field: "An An, A Yan, it's time to go home!"
The two little guys heard the sound and ran over slowly hand in hand.
Their little faces were filled with innocent smiles and their eyes were sparkling like two shining stars.
Su Yanshu watched Su Mianmian walk in another direction and wanted to follow, but Su Qingqing squatted down, patted his head gently, and whispered, "Ah Yan, be good and go back with Sister Qingqing. Your sister will be back soon."
Although the little guy was a little reluctant, he nodded obediently and took Su Qingqing's hand to prepare to go home.
Su Mianmian walked alone on the path, always feeling that someone was following her.
She looked back, but found no one there. This made her a little confused. Was she really just being too suspicious? She frowned, but the uneasiness in her heart did not completely dissipate.
She quickened her pace and unknowingly walked behind a big willow tree.
The willow tree is lush and leafy, like a huge green umbrella, providing a moment of shade for pedestrians.
She leaned over to look at the road she had come from. There was no one there, only a gentle breeze rustling the leaves.
Without giving it any more thought, she turned and walked towards the periphery. Her steps were firm and powerful, as if she wanted to leave all the anxiety in her heart behind.
However, she did not notice that the moment she turned to leave, a figure quietly emerged from the darkness.
That was Jiang Jiaoer. She was hiding on the other side of the willow tree, looking gloomily in the direction where Su Mianmian left.
"Follow her. I'll lead her to the cliff. When she falls, you go get the jade pendant." A cold and eerie voice sounded in Jiang Jiao'er's ears.
Jiang Jiao'er looked puzzled, "You don't need me to do anything?"
[You don't need to worry about these, just help me get the jade pendant.]
The voice sounded again, seeming to carry a hint of disdain and arrogance.
Although Jiang Jiao'er still had doubts in her heart, she felt a little relieved. Since she didn't need to kill anyone, that was perfect.
She quietly followed Su Mianmian, feeling very nervous, but when she thought about how Su Mianmian would soon die, she felt relieved.
Su Mianmian, however, knew nothing about this. She continued on her own path, but she was unaware that a crisis was quietly approaching her...
Su Mianmian was a person with poor sense of direction, and what she didn't realize was that she had been to the place where she was standing just now.
She was unaware of it and found a new way to continue walking. Soon she was back to where she came from.
After going back and forth three times, Su Mianmian finally realized something was wrong. Now there was only one way left, and Su Mianmian walked towards the road she had never been to.
This time she didn't return to her original place. She always felt something was wrong, but she couldn't tell what was wrong.
She shook her head and began looking for her prey.
Su Mianmian searched the mountain for a long time, but there was silence all around and no sign of any wild animals.
She was a little disappointed. She thought she could try her luck and find some gains, but she didn't expect this result.
So she decided to turn around and go back.
She walked back along the way she came, but the more she walked, the more she felt something was wrong.
The road seemed to be extremely long, as if it had no end.
She walked for about ten minutes, but found herself still standing still.
She stopped and looked around, an inexplicable fear welling up in her heart.
She rubbed her eyes hard and confirmed her position again, but the result was still unbelievable to her.
Su Mianmian couldn't help but think deeply in her heart, what on earth is going on?
Could it be the legendary "ghost wall"?
