Chapter 225

Chapter 225

Why?

Is he different from that person?

He paused for a moment, not connecting the unusual fact that he hadn't received any memories of last night today with this.

“Brother Wang last night…” Ling Wu lowered her eyes, a faint blush rising on her pale face.

Seeing this, Landric seemed to have thought of something, and he gripped the clear water glass tightly. "What happened last night?"

He spoke slowly and deliberately, as if using all his strength, yet striving to remain calm.

The girl's cheeks grew increasingly rosy, like a perfectly ripe pomegranate cake.

"Brother, have you forgotten?" The girl lowered her head and clenched her hands tightly.

Landric could only see the girl's curled eyelashes trembling gently, and even the bright sunlight seemed to favor her, reflecting a beautiful and holy light on her face.

A feeling of betrayal rose within him, along with a faint hint of jealousy.

But he really had no other choice.

He couldn't possibly say that he and Landric at night were not the same person, so he had no idea what happened last night, could he?

Landric continued, "How could Your Majesty forget? I just want to know if Celestia prefers Your Majesty during the day or at night?"

He spoke the second half of his sentence casually, but he awkwardly brought the water he was holding to his lips.

As the warm liquid slid down his throat, he saw the girl's wide, watery eyes and her slightly parted pink lips.

She lifted her skirt and took two steps back, pressing herself against the window, the blooming roses swaying gently behind her.

"I drank that water..." The girl seemed a little scared, and her watery eyes were a little moist.

Landric's initial curiosity, fueled by a competitive spirit, vanished completely!

He wanted to explain something, but the words that came out were an interrogation: "Tell me, Celestia."

He held a water glass, his indifferent expression calm, but no one knew the immense panic he was in at that moment.

What on earth is he doing?!

He gritted his teeth inwardly, but his face remained cold and domineering.

He wanted to step forward to explain and make amends, but the pressure from the height difference made the girl retreat step by step until she could retreat no further.

Her slender waist pressed against the protruding windowsill, making the girl's waist appear even more delicate and fragile.

Landric's gaze, which had been fixed on her waist, darkened considerably, and his voice was lower, husky, and more seductive than before: "Celestia."

The atmosphere gradually became ambiguous.

A gentle breeze ruffled the girl's wisps of hair on her forehead. Landric's Adam's apple bobbed as he reached out to try and tuck the stray hair behind the girl's ear.

He leaned down with an air of oppression, and for a moment, the masculine aura clashed with the cool fragrance emanating from the girl.

"Brother Wang!" The girl's usually sweet and soft voice was now filled with disgust.

Landric snapped out of his daze and realized that his hand, which had been tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, had now moved around her long hair and touched her slender back...

His lowered gaze lingered on the girl's pink lips.

Realizing what he really wanted to do, Landric suddenly stepped back!

He even threw the warm water in his hands onto the ground!

In an instant, water stains soaked the room's luxurious carpet.

But all he saw was the watery look in the girl's eyes.

The faint blush on her cheeks had long since faded from shock, and her eyes revealed an instinctive loathing for him!

“Celestia, I was just trying to help you…” he tried to explain helplessly.

"Get out!" The girl's voice was already tinged with sobs.

Landric took a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down, before looking up at the girl's face.

But her eyes were red-rimmed, and her choked voice was full of stubbornness and disgust: "Please leave here!"

Landric felt as if a young girl was repeatedly stabbing his chest with a soft knife; it didn't hurt, but rather caused a subtle, itchy sensation.

"Alright, I'll go out, but you must take your medicine first. I'll leave after you finish taking it, okay?" The noble crown prince bowed his head before her, his voice carrying a barely perceptible hint of pleading.

After she takes her medicine, he might need to log off to calm himself down.

Most importantly, he wanted to ask his brother, who was obsessed with developing the most intelligent NPCs, what he had done last night!

Ling Wu lowered her eyes and stared at the carpet that was wet with liquid, without saying a word.

The time for the pill test has come, and it's fine to take the pill out of the box, but that doesn't mean we have to compromise with the man in front of us.

If an NPC can't obtain the necessary permissions, then let someone who can grant those permissions grant them to her personally.

"Celestia, don't take it to heart," Landric said earnestly, suppressing his own frustration.

But the girl kept her head down and didn't say a word.

Landric was extremely agitated. He took a few steps forward and called out again, "Celestia, look at me."

The girl still did not look up.

Landric felt a lump in his throat. He reached out to lift the girl's head, but just then, a crystal-clear drop of water fell onto his hand.

Then came a series of tears.

Landric froze, his hand hanging in mid-air, and as he slowly looked up at the girl, a sense of guilt crept in.

"Celestia, don't cry."

He lowered his head, intending to wipe away the girl's tears with his warm fingertips, but the girl turned her head away.

"I'm sorry, it was my fault, brother." Landric was flustered, his hand hovering in mid-air, unsure whether to wipe away his tears or retract it.

He asked helplessly, "Then Celestia, tell your brother, what can you do to stop crying?"

Just as Landric was having a headache, the girl slowly squatted down, her beautiful big eyes filled with emptiness.

"I want my mother," she murmured silently.

Landric pinched his brow, "The Queen has long since..."

"Already what?" She looked up, her disgust still lingering, but a glimmer of hope rising in her eyes.

In that instant, Landric suddenly wanted to tell her the truth behind the plot, but fortunately he held back at the last moment.

"Hasn't Celestia always wanted to go out and travel?" He squatted down as well, his tone very gentle, as if afraid of making her cry again.

Lingwu remained silent, the moisture clinging to her eyelashes making her already peony-like face even more beautiful.

Landric wasn't angry, after all, it was his fault, and he shouldn't have harbored any delusions about his sister.

Especially while he still held that identity!

He continued, "From today onwards, Celestia may move freely within the castle."

After he finished speaking, he took out a ring and wanted to put it on her finger himself. After Ling Wu avoided him, Landric sighed and placed it in front of her.

He explained, "Wearing this ring can unlock many locked rooms in the castle, where you might find... things left behind by the Queen."

As he spoke, he took the warm water that Yu Zhu had brought back and handed it to Ling Wu.

"Take the pills, then Brother Wang will leave, okay?"

Lingwu didn't speak, but her actions told Landric her answer.

Seeing her swallow the pill, Landric reached out to pat the top of her head.

After being rejected and evaded by the girl once again, Landric reluctantly and stiffly withdrew his fingertips.

He stood up, paused for a moment at the door, but couldn't help turning back.

The first thing you see is a tiny girl hugging herself tightly, as if she has been abandoned by the world.

He couldn't even imagine what would happen to her after she discovered the whole truth.

I can't even imagine how painful it must have been for her to be betrayed by the person she trusted most after being won over.

"Celestia, don't trust anyone, not me, nor anyone who comes into your life." He left these words behind before turning his back.
