Chapter 359

Chapter 359

After that, He came eight more times, and each time He received Ling Wu's attention, so much so that He would come once a month later.

As for the reason, Lingwu thought it was probably because she found it strange or novel.

Under the loving care of Duke Leon and Tao Ruhua, Lingwu spent a carefree year.

Over the course of a year, everyone on the estate, from the butlers and guards to the fierce Caucasian Shepherd in the garden, who always showed a ferocious side to everyone, was extremely fond of this well-behaved and beautiful little girl.

As the sun slowly sank, a vast expanse of golden-red sunset painted the Duke of Leon, who was rushing back from the palace, with a mesmerizing champagne hue.

He spotted the little girl sitting in the garden, braiding the hair of a huge dog.

Before he could react, a gentle, spring-like smile appeared on his face.

He retrieved this Caucasian gorilla from the battlefield.

Perhaps it's the cruelty of the battlefield, or perhaps it's the ferocity flowing in the blood of the Caucasus, but it will bare its white teeth if anyone gets within three meters of it.

If that person takes another step forward, it will pounce on them and devour them, leaving not even a bone fragment.

He spent a lot of effort bringing the Caucasian Shepherd back, intending to train it as a war dog, but it was proud by nature and would rather go without food or water than wag its tail at him even once.

He eventually released it, but it harbored a grudge against him. At dusk, it crossed layers of guards and surveyed the entire manor with great majesty, trying to find him and bite off his throat to avenge itself.

As a result, Cynthia grabbed his ear.

The Duke of Leon still clutches his chest when he thinks about it, fearing that the terror he felt back then might cause him to fall ill.

Cynthia was favored by the gods, so she was more outstanding than others from a young age, and could walk steadily at the age of six months.

At that time, Cynthia was wearing a pink butterfly nightgown, barefoot, carrying a small stool, and huffing and puffing as she put the stool on the ground.

He awkwardly stepped onto the small stool and barely managed to grab the Caucasian's ear.

He remembered that he didn't care about anything at the time, he almost dropped his sword, he just rushed forward to take Cynthia away.

Instead of attacking him fiercely, the Caucasian who should have pounced on him immediately just bared its teeth at him and carefully circled around to Cynthia, who was standing on a stool, and protected her.

Cynthia switched to Caucasus's other ear and continued to pull it, giving him a smile sweeter than a sugar cube.

Thinking of all this, Duke Leon smiled and shook his head.

Her short, golden hair, like ears of wheat, was bathed in the glow of the setting sun, and her cold and ruthless aura vanished completely.

Ling Wu was tying the last little bun on the Caucasian's long fur, and after she finished, she patted the Caucasian's head.

The Caucasian dog had brownish-gray fur and, when it landed on its four paws, it was half a meter taller than Ling Wu. Even its enormous head was about the same size as Ling Wu's.

This is a fierce dog whose tail wags so hard it could almost blow over the little flowers around it.

“The flowers are all laughing at you.” Ling Wu pointed at the little flowers leaning back with one hand and touched the chin of the Caucasian with the other.

A very faint light shone from her palm.

The Caucasian immediately sat up obediently and rubbed against the tiny hand that was no bigger than half its paw.

"Woof~" it barked very softly.

Lingwu then let go of her hand.

After the Pope left that day, she began to learn in advance the healing spells that a saintess must learn after entering the temple.

One night six months ago, she used her healing spell to save a crow that had fallen from a tree and was nearly frozen to death.

The healed crow was released by her, but it never returned; it probably went to hibernate.

Caucasus was the second injured person she healed.

It was dusk that day, and she could feel the pain emanating from it from a great distance.

She appeared to be pulling its ear, but she was actually using her healing abilities to help it.

As they spent more time together, she learned that Caucasus had witnessed the deaths of his master and parents on the battlefield, which caused him great pain.

But the Caucasus now...

Lingwu glanced at it; its brown fur was tied into small braids, and it was showing her a dog's head that looked like a human smile.

I glanced at the Caucasian again, still unable to control itself, its tail was still wagging slightly.

"Caucasus looks as handsome as ever today!"

The babyish little voice fell silent.

Then came the man's gentle chuckle, "So, how does Daddy feel about today, baby?"

The obedient little girl with curly hair turned her head, winked at him, and didn't say anything.

Amidst the low growl of the Caucasus, Duke Leon bent down and scooped the little girl up in his arms.

After hugging him, he even provocatively raised his chin at the Caucasian.

Lingwu had a clear understanding of Duke Leon, who was cold and aloof in public.

This person is not only a doting father to his daughter, but also a hopeless romantic.

Sure enough, after Duke Leon finished showing off to the big dog with the little pigtails, he took Lingwu and went to find Tao Ruhua.

"Baby, where is your beautiful and gentle mother?"

Lingwu accepted the word "baby" well; she simply shook her head, which still melted Duke Leon's heart.

Before she had taken two steps, the radiant lady, who had just finished making some snacks and was bringing them over for Lingwu to try, bumped right into Duke Leon.

The bitterness on Tao Ruhua's face a year ago has vanished; now she is even more radiant and dazzling than the hostess of the ball.

Tao Ruhua was the third injured person that Ling Wu healed.

Apart from the crow, which she never saw again, the other two healed patients unconditionally cared for her.

"Cynthia is going to the temple the day after tomorrow, and I'm a little..."

Before Tao Ruhua could finish speaking, Duke Leon became nervous.

“Among the knights guarding the temple are members of the royal family, and I have prepared everything over the past year. You can trust me, my lady.”

As the Duke of Leon spoke, he looked away from the stained-glass round window.

There's an Eastern idiom called "being moved by the scenery," and he feared that his sadness would make his wife even more upset.

Tao Ruhua was puzzled. She ignored Duke Leon and asked Lingwu, "No matter where you go, the most precious place in your heart will always be your mother, right?"

"Yes." The little girl nodded decisively.

The sadness that had just risen in Duke Leon's heart as he looked out the window vanished, and he turned his head to ask, "Then the second most precious position belongs to Daddy, right?"

The little girl didn't say a word.

Duke Leon felt the greatest sorrow in the world!

"The most valuable positions are held by two people," the lovely voice said.

"So, the other person in the baby's heart is Daddy, right?" Duke Leon still asked.

Tao Ruhua covered her lips and scoffed, "So, the other person in the baby's heart is the Caucasus?"

After she finished speaking, Duke Leon coughed awkwardly, his handsome face showing a wronged expression to Tao Ruhua.

Tao Ruhua ignored him and instead picked up Lingwu, whispering, "Baby is going to the temple tomorrow. How about sleeping with Mommy tonight?"

"good."

The Duke of Leon, who received a plate of snacks after his little girl was taken away, curled the corners of his lips into a smile.

But soon, the handsome duke's smile faltered. "My beautiful lady, have you forgotten me?"

As the night deepened, the Caucasian Shepherd's black nose twitched. It uneasily broke free of its chain and ran out of its luxurious kennel.

A pure white ball of light stood beneath the windowsill of Ling Wu's room in the manor.

The ball of light was so bright it was blinding, yet it did not illuminate the surrounding area in the slightest.

The Caucasian Shepherd had its tail between its legs, and its braided fur stood on end!

Even so, it still growled threateningly at the ball of light:

"Woof!"
