Chapter 102 Ah Lian's Accident

It was midnight, and all was quiet.

Su Xiaoning was sleeping peacefully in the room when suddenly a faint creaking sound came from the door. A figure quickly slipped in through the crack in the door and furtively searched around the room.

Where is it...?

Ah Lian carefully recalled the scene she had secretly witnessed that day, and followed her memory all the way to Su Xiaoning's dressing table. She reached into the dressing case and quickly found a neatly folded letter. When she opened it, she saw that it contained tender words of affection.

If such a thing were given to Feng Jiu or the head maid, and Su Xiaoning were accused of receiving it in secret, she would definitely not be able to continue the selection of concubines.

Ah Lian smiled smugly and tucked the letter into her bosom. She tidied up the things in the room, turned to leave, and suddenly heard Su Xiaoning's soft voice.

"where are you going?"

Could Su Xiaoning have already woken up? A-Lian broke out in a cold sweat. She looked sharply at Su Xiaoning's bed and saw that Su Xiaoning was still lying quietly on the bed. There were no lights on in the room, and her face was hidden in the darkness. She didn't know whether she was asleep or awake.

"You...you're awake?" Ah Lian asked tentatively.

Su Xiaoning had her eyes tightly closed, immersed in her dream, when she suddenly heard a muffled voice and unconsciously replied, "Yes."

A-Lian panicked and froze in place, too afraid to move.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I just wanted to check if you were asleep. If you don't need anything else, I'll be going now..."

I'm hungry.

As A-Lian was frantically explaining, Su Xiaoning suddenly blurted out, "You...you're hungry? Then wait for me to go back, and I'll go to the kitchen and make you something, okay?"

"I don't want to." Su Xiaoning suddenly let out a cold laugh. "Since you're here, then stay and be my dinner."

Heaven knows she loves having strange dreams at night, sometimes it's Ultraman fighting monsters, sometimes it's an escape room adventure. Right now she's having a dream about zombies, and she naturally gets into the role.

But A-Lian was terrified. Before she was planted, she had been told about some of Su Xiaoning's abilities and knew that it would be very easy for Su Xiaoning to kill her, an ordinary person.

A series of horrific ways to die flashed through her mind. Just then, a gust of cold wind blew in through the half-open window, making her shiver. Thinking of Su Xiaoning's words just now, she felt even colder.

Without further hesitation, Ah Lian turned and ran towards the nearest window. She flipped over, but suddenly stumbled and fell straight down!

"ah!"

A sharp pain shot through her legs, and Ah Lian screamed in agony, clutching her legs and wailing in agony.

Almost half the people in the courtyard were awakened by her screams. The head maid quickly arrived, and the girls all came out with lanterns to see what was going on. Naturally, the commotion also disturbed Su Xiaoning.

Su Xiaoning woke up with a start and noticed that the scream was nearby. She immediately grabbed the windowsill and looked out, but her hand suddenly touched something.

She picked up the item in her hand and was immediately stunned.

Isn't this the letter Su Qingcai wrote to her? How did it end up here?

Su Xiaoning looked around and saw A-Lian crying and wailing under her window. It looked like she had fallen off the windowsill. Considering A-Lian's unusual behavior, it was easy to guess what had happened.

I never expected that they would still scheme against her.

Su Xiaoning snorted coldly, put the letter away herself, and went to her dressing case to take out another sheet of paper and placed it on the windowsill. It was a cartoon she had drawn as practice. If A-Lian was still thinking about the letter, she would lose face again.

After doing all this, Su Xiaoning lay back down on the bed as if she hadn't heard anything.

The head maid arrived at the scene quickly and was shocked to see what was happening. She helped Ah Lian up and prepared to take her to find a doctor.

Ah Lian was in so much pain that she was covered in cold sweat. She struggled to stand up, but when she touched her chest, there was nothing there. She immediately panicked.

She glanced behind her and saw a neatly folded letter on the windowsill. Without thinking, she quickly took the letter and left.

...

The next day, Ah Lian, leaning on her crutches, limped to class.

Su Xiaoning gave A-Lian a few half-smiles, making her feel both guilty and resentful, and she couldn't help but think of that letter again.

"Teacher!" During class, Ah Lian suddenly raised her hand and shouted, "I want to report this!"

"What are you going to report?" Feng Jiu glanced at A Lian indifferently, seemingly not very interested.

"I want to report Su Xiaoning. She had an affair and even wrote love letters to someone!"

As soon as she said this, all eyes in the classroom turned to Su Xiaoning. The girls whispered among themselves, some even revealing a hint of disdain in their eyes.

Feng Jiu frowned and said in a deep voice, "Everything requires evidence. You can't just report someone because you want to."

"Of course I have evidence!" Ah Lian snorted coldly, took out a folded piece of paper from her bosom, and slowly unfolded it in front of everyone. "Everyone, take a good look. This is the evidence of their secret exchanges and love letters!"

As the letter was slowly unfurled, a simple line drawing came into view. The drawing was of unknown content, quite chaotic, except for a large, prominent smiley face that seemed to be silently mocking the crowd who were waiting to see the spectacle.

"Pfft—"

Su Xiaoning burst out laughing. She pointed at the letter in A-Lian's hand and raised an eyebrow at her, "You're using something like this to say I write love letters to other people? Who writes love letters like this?"

A-Lian's breath hitched. She hurriedly took the letter down and looked at it, her face turning deathly pale.

how so? !

"No, that's not how it is..." Ah Lian explained incoherently, but she couldn't make it clear at all.

Feng Jiu seemed to be getting impatient. She glanced coldly at A Lian and said sternly, "Enough! Is the classroom a place for you to fool around? Trying to play tricks in my class? If this happens again, you can go home!"

Her words were blunt and ruthless, shattering Ah Lian's heart.

The pointing and whispering gazes around her made her feel utterly ashamed and indignant. She didn't want to stay there any longer and limped away. She didn't take her crutch and fell to the ground after only a few steps, screaming in pain. She looked extremely disheveled.

Ah Lian's condition was really not optimistic. Su Xiaoning couldn't bear to see her miserable appearance, so she decided to stop there and followed her out to try to treat Ah Lian.

Feng Jiu seemed to see through her thoughts and said coldly, "Since she harmed you, why would you go and save her?"

"A doctor should have a compassionate heart. I didn't mean to drive anyone to their death. That's enough." Su Xiaoning replied casually without turning her head before rushing to A-Lian's side.

Feng Jiu was slightly taken aback. She stared at Su Xiaoning's figure as she treated A Lian, a meaningful smile appearing on her face.

If it were Bai Hua, he would definitely kick someone when they're down and would never save them again. But his apprentice's personality seems to be completely different from his own. How interesting...
