Chapter 119 Unable to Avoid It

Upon hearing that it was hypnosis, Bai Hua immediately shook his head, denying Su Xiaoning's guess.

"That's impossible. That person wasn't taking any medication at the time. I've never seen hypnosis without drugs."

“Just because you haven’t seen something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.” Su Xiaoning thought for a moment and tried to explain short-term hypnosis to Bai Hua using modern theories.

“In our country… in our region, there is a method of hypnosis where the person being hypnotized doesn’t need to take any drugs; the hypnotist only needs to use a medium. This medium can be anything, such as a pendulum clock, which we often use. It can induce short-term hypnosis, making the person unable to wake up and act entirely according to the hypnotist’s will.”

Su Xiaoning usually enjoys watching variety shows, many of which feature hypnosis games, and she speaks about them quite fluently.

Bai Hua was stunned. He hesitated and didn't speak, feeling skeptical about the claim.

Outside the study, Feng Jiuming happened to pass by and overheard Su Xiaoning's words. He pushed the door open and shouted, "I think I've heard of that method you mentioned before!"

Su Xiaoning turned her head and hurriedly asked, "You've heard of it? Then do you know how to break the hypnosis?"

“How would I know? I’m not a doctor.” Feng Jiuming shrugged. “I’ve only heard of it. It seems to be a secret technique from a remote country. If you want to know the specific method, I can use the Phoenix Cry Pavilion’s intelligence network to investigate.”

"That's great!" Su Xiaoning smiled. With the help of Fengming Pavilion, this matter should be much simpler.

Unexpectedly, Bai Hua suddenly stood up and said unhappily, "I don't need your help. There is no such thing as hypnosis without drugs. This must be some other illness. I will find a treatment."

"Tch, you think you can just pretend it doesn't exist just because you haven't heard of it?" Feng Jiuming scoffed, his phoenix eyes full of mockery towards Bai Hua. "It's one thing for you to be ignorant, but why won't you let others investigate? I think you're just too proud to admit it, utterly boring!"

Bai Hua was suddenly struck by a revelation and instantly became furious. Pointing at Feng Jiuming, she yelled, "So what if you've heard all this nonsense? You're not a doctor, how could you possibly know more than me? I suggest you go somewhere cool and stay away from us!"

Feng Jiuming snorted coldly and leaned against the door frame. "You think I wanted to get involved with you guys? If I wasn't thinking about those things Su Xiaoning gave me, would I care about you? I'm just helping her. If you want to read books, go ahead. Nobody cares about you!"

"Feng Jiuming, don't go too far!"

"What have I done wrong? You ignorant country bumpkin!"

"Get out of here!"

Bai Hua's eyes reddened with anger, and she went forward to shove Feng Jiu Ming. Feng Jiu Ming also got angry and refused to leave, and the two of them started arguing in the house.

The entire study was turned upside down, leaving Su Xiaoning dumbfounded. She rubbed her temples, her head aching, and, not wanting to get involved in their affairs, quietly left, closing the door behind her.

After leaving the study, Su Xiaoning had nowhere to go. She wandered to the kitchen, intending to cook herself a meal, but there wasn't even any food in the kitchen. Speechless for a moment, she simply went to the market to buy groceries herself.

Su Xiaoning went out onto the street with a vegetable basket, just like before. But for some reason, the people on the street avoided her like the plague.

Su Xiaoning felt strange, but didn't think much of it. She walked up to the vegetable stall and was about to ask the price when the stall owner nervously waved his hand.

"Get out of here! We're not doing business with you!"

"You..." Su Xiaoning was speechless. She wanted to ask, but seeing the stall owner's unfriendly eyes, she swallowed her questions.

She went to several vegetable stalls, but each stall owner said they weren't selling. Some stall owners even ignored Su Xiaoning, treating her like she wasn't there.

Su Xiaoning stood blankly on the street, not knowing what she had done wrong, why everyone treated her like a monster.

As she stood there lost in thought, Ah Lian, who was out shopping not far away, saw her and immediately ran over with a bright look in her eyes.

"Xiao Ning! Long time no see, what are you doing here?"

"I came out to buy groceries, but I don't know what's wrong with these people, they won't let me buy anything..." Su Xiaoning glanced somewhat awkwardly at the vegetable stalls that refused her.

"What are you doing..." Ah Lian seemed to realize something, but she quickly shook her head and put on a warm smile again, "Don't worry about them, my family's restaurant still has a lot of dishes, I'll give them to you!"

A-Lian pulled Su Xiaoning to her family's restaurant, and Su Xiaoning followed. As soon as the two entered the restaurant, all the guests' eyes were immediately drawn to them.

"Isn't that Su Xiaoning?!"

One of the guests shouted, slammed his hand on the table, and stared at her with hostility.

"Get out! You're not welcome here!"

The restaurant was filled with a cacophony of voices; not a single person was there to welcome Su Xiaoning.

Su Xiaoning's heart skipped a beat, and she asked blankly, "What...what happened to me? Why are you treating me like this?"

"How dare you ask!" the guest spat. "We all know you're a witch! If the General of the Cavalry doesn't like a woman, neither do we! You're a witch who brings disaster, who wants to be with you!"

These few words made Su Xiaoning understand instantly.

Su Xiaoning's face turned deathly pale. She finally understood why the people on the street and the vegetable stall owners had treated her that way. It turned out that everyone thought she was a "witch"!

"Xiao Ning, don't listen to their nonsense..." A Lian's face was very pale, and she looked at Su Xiao Ning with some concern.

Su Xiaoning forced a smile, turned around and walked out. "I'm fine. Since these customers don't like me, I'll leave. I feel bad for delaying your business."

"Don't..." A-Lian was startled and reached out to grab Su Xiaoning, but Su Xiaoning had already walked away and disappeared in a flash.

Su Xiaoning walked dejectedly down the road, wandering aimlessly, completely unaware that she had walked near the Seventh Prince's Mansion.

Qin Yunyun happened to come out of the Prince's mansion. As soon as she saw the disheveled Su Xiaoning, she immediately mocked loudly, "Oh my, isn't this Su Xiaoning! How dare you go out, you vixen? Your reputation has been ruined. If I were you, I would hang myself with a white silk ribbon right now. How could I possibly still be begging and getting in other people's way!"

Her words completely ignited Su Xiaoning's anger.

Su Xiaoning was furious and walked quickly to Qin Yunyun. Just as she was about to reprimand her, someone from the next room suddenly ran out with a bucket of water, shouting "Witch!" and splashing water at her!

"careful!"

In the blink of an eye, Su Qinghe suddenly appeared out of nowhere and pulled Su Xiaoning aside.

The foul-smelling sewage was splashed onto Qin Yunyun. Qin Yunyun glared at Su Xiaoning, who was being protected by Su Qinghe, and trembled with anger.
