Chapter 128 Luring the Snake Out of Its Hole

Su Qingcai and Shen Jun went all out with their act, pretending to fight for quite a while, making it look extremely intense. They only stopped when the Prime Minister sent men to forcibly separate them, but they still glared at each other defiantly.

The Prime Minister sighed and quickly stepped forward to mediate: "Please stop fighting. The most important thing now is to find out the truth. If the Emperor finds out about the Ninth Prince's rash actions, it will really harm Miss Su!"

Shen Jun glanced at Su Qingcai and said coldly, "Ninth Prince, you have heard what the Prime Minister said. I really do not want to fight with you."

The steps have been laid out; to continue arguing would be tactless. Su Qingcai didn't insist, silently nodding as he left, his departing figure appearing exceptionally desolate. No one could tell that he and Shen Jun were both faking it.

News of Su Xiaoning's critical illness and Su Qingcai's violent fight for her at Baishige quickly spread. Upon hearing the news, Su Qinghe immediately came to visit Su Qingcai.

"How have you been lately, Xiao Jiu? I heard you fought with Chief Shen at the Hundred Things Pavilion today?"

Su Qinghe asked in a concerned tone, but her eyes were full of mockery.

Su Qingcai had no intention of playing along with him and said coldly, "Don't try to get close to me. Just tell me what your purpose is."

"We're brothers, after all. How can you be so ungrateful?" Su Qinghe tapped his head, feigning distress. "I just wanted to help you. You wouldn't be so ungrateful, would you?"

He said he wanted to help, but even a fool could tell he had ulterior motives.

Su Qingcai chuckled, her expression remaining indifferent: "Tell me, what price do you want me to pay?"

"The Ninth Prince is indeed a straightforward man." Su Qinghe laughed loudly, a barely perceptible glint of coldness flashing in his eyes.

"My request is simple. I will help rescue Su Xiaoning and ensure that she will never be in danger again. But you must guarantee that you will never participate in court struggles again and give up that position. How about it?"

He stated his purpose directly: to get Su Qingcai to withdraw on her own.

If Su Qingcai didn't know that Su Xiaoning was faking poisoning, he might have agreed out of concern. However, Shen Jun reassured him, making him think that Su Qinghe's request was utterly ridiculous.

"Seventh Prince, you're quite the joker." Su Qingcai smiled slightly, completely calm. "If you want me to withdraw, go ahead and talk to the Emperor. I will definitely not let go."

"Don't you want to save Su Xiaoning anymore?" Su Qinghe narrowed his eyes slightly, and the smile on his face slowly faded. "You pretended to be so affectionate and righteous before, but when it came to the crucial moment, you still abandoned her without hesitation. You really are a 'good man'!"

"You flatter me. I'm definitely no match for the Seventh Prince." Su Qingcai took a sip of tea, calm and composed, completely ignoring Su Qinghe's words.

Su Qinghe's expression immediately changed, and he slammed his hand on the table, saying, "Su Qingcai, I'm giving you face by coming here in person. Don't be so stubborn!"

"I can't accept such face from the Seventh Prince." Su Qingcai glanced at Su Qinghe with a half-smile, his expression unwavering.

The negotiations had reached a stalemate, and there was no point in staying any longer. Su Qinghe's expression shifted unpredictably, but finally settled into a gloomy look as she stormed off.

As he left, a breeze swept through the house, passing by him and bringing with it a strange fragrance.

A fragrant breeze wafted over him, and Su Qingcai was surrounded by the scent of Su Qinghe. He lowered his head and sniffed, and a strange tingling sensation swept over his entire body.

Su Qingcai trembled all over. Without further hesitation, he went straight to Bai Hua and asked her what the fragrance was.

Bai Hua took a light sniff and his expression immediately changed. He said seriously, "This is the scent of an aphrodisiac."

"Aphrodisiac? How could Su Qinghe have such a thing on her body?" Su Qingcai frowned and took off her entire outer garment.

Bai Hua thought for a moment and guessed, "The Seventh Prince doesn't seem like the type to use aphrodisiacs himself. Perhaps it's one of his concubines who uses them."

“Concubine…”

After pondering for a while, Su Qingcai recalled the image of a familiar woman.

...

While Su Qinghe was meeting with Su Qingcai, Qin Sang secretly came to see Qin Yunyun.

He grasped Qin Yunyun's hands and said excitedly, "Yunyun, this is great news! Su Qingcai has lost his mind after Su Xiaoning was poisoned. It seems she doesn't have long to live. Now is the perfect time for us to make our move!"

"Really?" Qin Yunyun also became excited, her heart pounding.

"Of course it's true!" Qin Sang said with a happy expression, recounting the scene he had secretly witnessed outside the Hundred Things Pavilion, as well as Meng Ruqiao's own words about Su Xiaoning's serious illness.

"This is wonderful! I've waited so long, this day has finally come..."

Qin Yunyun was so excited that her heart was trembling. She sent Qin Sang away and then went directly to Fu Ruo to ask her for a bottle of medicine.

The potion was contained in a transparent glass bottle, shimmering with an alluring light. According to Fu Ruo, as long as this potion was splashed on Su Xiaoning's koi fish mark, the mark could be peeled off her body.

This opportunity was hard-won, so Qin Yunyun was cautious and waited until midnight before changing her clothes and sneaking into the Inner Affairs Pavilion.

The room was quiet. Su Xiaoning lay quietly on the bed, her face pale and her eyes tightly closed. She looked like she was on the verge of death.

Qin Yunyun was overjoyed and, without saying a word, took out the medicine and splashed it on Su Xiaoning's arm!

The cold liquid splashed onto her arm, bringing a slight, ant-biting pain that instantly woke Su Xiaoning from her sleep.

Before she even opened her eyes, she had already keenly sensed the unusual atmosphere around her.

Qin Yunyun was caught up in her excitement and didn't realize that Su Xiaoning had woken up. She pulled out a dagger from her bosom, a ruthless glint in her eyes, and raised the knife to stab!

"Smack!"

Su Xiaoning, who was lying on the bed, suddenly sprang up, knocked the dagger out of Qin Yunyun's hand, and tightly gripped her wrist.

"Finally caught you—"

No sooner had she finished speaking than the door suddenly opened wide, and Su Qingcai and Meng Ruqiao walked in.

"I'm late, are you alright?" Su Qingcai hurriedly walked up to Su Xiaoning, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she only had water stains on her arm and was not injured.

He looked coldly at Qin Yunyun, grabbed her and dragged her outside forcefully: "Come on, come with me to the horse farm!"

"I'm not going!" Qin Yunyun's eyes widened as she struggled desperately. The mere mention of the horse farm told her what was about to happen.

"You dare to do some things, so why are you afraid to face them now?" Su Qingcai sneered, ignoring Qin Yunyun's struggles, and dragged her out the door, heading straight towards the horse farm.
