Chapter Fifty: The Drunken Doctor

"How could you just pick up any random person out there!"

Su Qingcai found Su Xiaoning and berated her in front of the drunkard.

He made no attempt to hide his displeasure with the drunkard, but the drunkard merely chuckled and stood aside with his arms crossed, his leisurely attitude suggesting he was watching a good show.

Su Xiaoning looked bewildered and said strangely, "What's wrong with picking someone up? He was lying on the road and we didn't know what might happen to him. I was just doing a good deed by bringing him back. Besides, you're someone I picked up too!"

That's true; she did indeed "pick up" Su Qingcai from the sea.

"You, you..." Su Qingcai was speechless for a moment. He pointed at Su Xiaoning and said "you" several times, but he couldn't utter a complete sentence.

The drunkard gave Su Qingcai a mocking look, his smile utterly sarcastic.

Su Qingcai's face turned pale and then red. He didn't want to see the two of them anymore, so he immediately turned around and left.

Watching Su Qingcai leave, Su Xiaoning subconsciously wanted to chase after him, but the drunkard grabbed her, saying, "You don't need to worry about him. How can a grown man be so easily angered? How will he accomplish anything great in the future?"

Su Xiaoning thought about it and realized that Su Qingcai was always getting angry at things she couldn't understand. She might as well focus on doing her own work first and then talk to him properly later.

On the other side, Su Qingcai walked a long way, but still didn't see Su Xiaoning catch up. He simply stood by the roadside and waited, but still didn't see that familiar figure.

Su Qingcai was furious. Just then, the fishermen went fishing in the nearshore waters, so he went with them. The way he stabbed the fish in the nearshore waters with a harpoon seemed to be venting his anger.

As dusk fell, the fishermen gradually returned home, but Su Qingcai remained in the sea, aimlessly stabbing at the fish with his harpoon. His basket on his back was already laden with heavy fish, but he was still not satisfied and continued stabbing.

Su Qingcai was so enraged that she didn't even notice a strange black shadow swimming towards her from the sea behind her.

A jet-black sea serpent darted silently through the water. Startled by Su Qingcai's harpoon, it immediately bared its fangs and bit down.

Feeling the pain in his leg, Su Qingcai's expression changed. He lowered his head, yanked the sea snake off his leg, and threw it back into the sea.

However, it was too late. Two deep, bloody holes appeared on his legs, and the blood gushing out was an eerie black, looking extremely gruesome.

Su Qingcai was terrified, and his mind became increasingly unclear. With the last bit of his sanity, he ran back to Carp Village and collapsed at Su Xiaoning's doorstep.

...

Su Qingcai was poisoned by a sea snake, but no one in Carp Village knew the antidote.

Su Xiaoning was terrified. She stayed by Su Qingcai's bedside, looking as if she was about to burst into tears.

Ding Yi and Bing Er were frantic. Ding Yi even wanted to suck out Su Qingcai's snake venom, but Bing Er stopped him in time. The two looked at each other, their eyes filled with sadness.

Just when they were at a loss, the drunkard who had been silent all along suddenly spoke up.

"Let me try."

The drunkard stepped forward and was about to roll up Su Qingcai's trouser leg, but Ding Yi and Bing Er stopped him.

Ding Yi glanced at the drunkard suspiciously and pressed his hand down firmly. "No, you're of unknown origin. What if you hurt our young master!"

“Your young master is already in grave danger without me even lifting a finger, so you might as well let someone else try.” The drunkard glanced at Ding Yi and easily shook off her hand. “I’m partly to blame for this. If I hadn’t stopped Su Xiaoning from going to him, this disaster might not have happened. Otherwise, do you think I’d want to save a stranger? Get out of here and don’t bother me!”

The drunkard shoved Ding Yi and Bing Er aside. The two had no choice but to try anything, watching the drunkard attempt to save them.

The drunkard pulled out a small cloth bag from somewhere, and when he opened it, there was a set of gleaming silver needles inside.

He took out several silver needles and quickly inserted them into several acupoints on Su Qingcai's body, also inserting a few more needles into the leg wound where Su Qingcai had been bitten. Strangely enough, after these few needles, the bleeding from Su Qingcai's leg wound stopped, his complexion improved, and his breathing became much more stable.

"Alright, I've temporarily slowed down the snake venom in his body. It seems there's no problem for now. What happens next depends on his fate."

The drunkard observed Su Qingcai's condition and put away the silver needles amidst the astonished gazes of Su Xiaoning and the others.

Seeing the unusual way he used the needles, Ding Yi felt a sense of familiarity. Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind, and he excitedly asked, "You are... 'Drunken Doctor' Bai Hua?"

Bai Hua, known in the martial arts world as "Drunken Doctor Immortal," is extremely fond of alcohol and is unconventional in his behavior. Despite his great fame, his whereabouts are unpredictable.

The drunkard glanced at Ding Yi with some surprise, but did not deny it, which was tantamount to admitting it.

Ding was immediately thrilled, and looking at Su Qingcai, he felt much more at ease.

It seems the prince is saved now that he has met the Drunken Physician!

...

Meanwhile, in the capital city, Su Qinghe was furious.

"You said your koi mark appeared and disappeared intermittently, and I believed you, which is why I brought you back. But why haven't I seen the koi mark appear since?! Moreover, the people I sent to Koi Village to gather information told me that there is actually another person with the koi mark! Tell me the truth, has your koi mark disappeared long ago? If you dare to deceive me, I will make you and your father be buried with me!"

"Your Highness, please calm down! I beg you to spare my life!" Qin Yunyun trembled, not daring to look directly at the furious Su Qinghe. "I didn't lie to you. I was indeed chosen by the Fish God, but my mark was stolen by that bitch Su Xiaoning! Your Highness, that bitch is with Su Qingcai and won't help you at all. Your best option is to keep me alive..."

"You've lost your lucky charm mark, so how can you talk about the best choice?" Su Qinghe grabbed Qin Yunyun's chin, her eyes filled with malice.

Qin Yunyun's mind raced, and she stammered, "Your Highness, why don't you find some extraordinary person to perform a ritual and retrieve my koi fish mark? Once the koi fish mark is back, I will definitely obey Your Highness..."

Trying to reclaim the koi fish mark is certainly one possible solution.

After some thought, Su Qinghe finally accepted Qin Yunyun's suggestion. He mobilized a lot of manpower and resources and quickly found an old man who was said to know a lot about koi fish markings.

As soon as the old man saw Qin Yunyun, he said, "The koi fish mark on your body was stolen, but the person who stole it is not dead and has better luck than you."

Su Qinghe frowned and said in a deep voice, "Stop talking nonsense, how exactly do we get the koi fish mark back from that person?"

The old man did not answer. He closed his eyes and muttered something to himself. When he opened his eyes, a different kind of glint appeared in them.

"If we want the koi mark to come back, we must take advantage of the person's weakest period of luck. I have calculated that there will be a low tide soon, and when that person's luck has run out, it will be the best time to make a move!"
