Chapter Seventy-Nine: Twisted

The head maid and the servant girl were clearly targeting Su Xiaoning, but Su Qingcai unusually did not speak up to stop them.

He, who was always proud in the mansion, was indeed embarrassed by Su Xiaoning. A strange feeling came over him, and he wanted to see how Su Xiaoning would submit to him.

Su Xiaoning never intended to ask Su Qingcai for help. She thought Su Qingcai would step forward and reprimand these troublemakers, but after waiting for a while, Su Qingcai acted as if he hadn't seen anything and didn't care about the matter at all.

This is truly unexpected and infuriating.

Su Xiaoning angrily withdrew her gaze from Su Qingcai and instead looked at the maid.

She didn't start cursing, but just stared intently at the maid, making the maid a little scared.

Why are you looking at me like that?!

"I think you're pretty, sister." Su Xiaoning raised an eyebrow and made a mischievous joke.

The maid's face suddenly turned red, and she was about to lash out when she saw Su Xiaoning suddenly put on a serious expression and say solemnly, "I see that your skin isn't very good, sister, and you have some acne scars. Do you have acne all the time that you can't get rid of?"

"How did you know?" The maid unconsciously touched her somewhat rough face and looked at Su Xiaoning with surprise.

Su Xiaoning simply smiled and said, "I'm the best at treating illnesses and saving lives. I can tell your skin problem at a glance. Look at you, sister, you're so beautiful and your features are so lovely, but these acne scars really detract from your appearance. It's such a pity. How about this, since we're destined to meet, I'll treat you, okay?"

During this time, Bai Hua had been tirelessly teaching her medicine. She was quick-witted and learned things very fast; she could even glean a lot from physiognomy alone. This maid happened to have skin problems, and what woman doesn't love beauty? Treating the root cause was the best solution.

Upon hearing that Su Xiaoning was willing to treat her, the maid hesitated as expected. She had been troubled by acne for many years, and now that she had finally met someone willing to cure her, how could she not be tempted?

Can you guarantee that you will definitely cure me?

"Of course, it will cure the disease instantly!"

Su Xiaoning patted her chest and assured the maid. The maid was moved by her firm tone and whispered a few words of advice to the head maid.

The head maid glanced at Su Xiaoning with some displeasure, but since her most capable maid had pleaded for Su Xiaoning, she said nothing more, gave a cold snort, and went to tidy up Su Qingcai's room.

The group followed the head maid, while Su Xiaoning greeted her maid and had her led to the kitchen.

"Didn't you say the medicine would cure everything? Why didn't you go get the medicine and instead ran to the kitchen?"

The maid looked at Su Xiaoning, who was rolling up her sleeves to prepare to cook, with suspicion, feeling a vague unease in her heart.

Su Xiaoning shook her finger and said confidently, "Doesn't medicinal cuisine count as medicine? I wouldn't be happy to make you drink such bitter medicine soup. Just you wait and see, trust me!"

After saying that, Su Xiaoning stopped talking to the maid. She deftly selected several ingredients, chopped and seasoned them, and put them into the pot. Her movements were so smooth and efficient that the maid was completely stunned.

Before long, the medicinal cuisine was ready. Su Xiaoning placed the dish in front of the maid and said, "This is a medicinal cuisine I prepared for you. It detoxifies and beautifies your skin. Eat this every day for the next few days, and your skin will definitely improve in less than three days."

The medicinal cuisine emitted an enticing aroma, whetting the maid's appetite. Despite some lingering concerns, the maid couldn't resist picking up her chopsticks and devouring the food.

The bowl of medicinal food was quickly finished, and the maid was very satisfied. She nodded and agreed to eat Su Xiaoning's cooking for the next few days.

For the next three days, the maid ate medicinal meals every day, along with the medicinal powder that Su Xiaoning had instructed her to apply to her face. Just as Su Xiaoning had said, her skin really did start to improve. Her previously pitted and uneven skin was now smooth and soft, and the dark acne scars gradually faded or even disappeared. The problem that had bothered her for many years was finally resolved.

The maid was overjoyed and thanked Su Xiaoning profusely. After that, she would praise Su Xiaoning to everyone she met in the mansion.

Su Xiaoning's reputation gradually spread, and women from the entire Prince's mansion and even outside flocked to her, wanting to see her for treatment. Su Xiaoning welcomed all who came, and these days she spent every day in the Prince's mansion treating people, so busy that she had long forgotten about Su Qingcai.

Su Qingcai had originally hoped that Su Xiaoning would take the initiative to come and show him goodwill, but she didn't come no matter how long he waited. After inquiring, he learned that Su Xiaoning had been busy seeing a doctor and had no time to take care of him.

He felt a pang of jealousy and a bit uncomfortable, so he pretended to be sick and asked Bai Hua to send a message to Su Xiaoning.

After hearing what Bai Hua said, Su Xiaoning just sneered.

"Oh, you mean he's sick? What does that have to do with me? He's a high and mighty prince, if he's sick he should go to the palace and see the imperial physician, I can't cure him!"

She still vividly remembered how the servants in the manor had targeted her, and how Su Qingcai had stood by and let them bully her without saying a word. She absolutely refused to pay any attention to him again!

Bai Hua was in a dilemma. He had wanted to persuade Su Xiaoning, but Su Xiaoning completely ignored him and was busy with her own things. Bai Hua sighed and had no choice but to return to Su Qingcai's room.

"She...she's too busy. She said she'd come to see you in a while. You should see a royal physician first."

After considering it carefully, Bai Hua relayed Su Xiaoning's words in a tactful and gentle manner.

But Su Qingcai seemed to have guessed something, and her face darkened.

"I'm afraid that's not what she said at all. Go tell her that the imperial physicians in the palace can't cure my illness, and only she can!"
