The surroundings were completely silent, so quiet that Su Xiaoning felt a little uneasy.
She suddenly remembered the words she had overheard earlier, and her face turned ashen.
Su Qingcai couldn't have left already, could she?!
Su Xiaoning turned pale and immediately jumped out of bed. Without even washing up, she hurriedly threw on a coat and rushed out the door.
She searched everywhere for Su Qingcai, turning the house inside out, but couldn't find him anywhere.
A huge panic gripped Su Xiaoning's heart. She felt dizzy and lightheaded, but then she suddenly spotted a vaguely familiar figure on the beach not far away.
Su Xiaoning's heart pounded wildly, and she rushed out the door. When she got closer to the beach, she realized that the person standing there was Su Qingcai.
Thank goodness... thank goodness he didn't leave...
Su Xiaoning breathed a sigh of relief and was about to go forward to call Su Qingcai when she heard voices coming from afar.
Standing behind the reef, Su Xiaoning turned her perspective and discovered that there was a strange man in front of Su Qingcai. This was the man who had advised Su Qingcai to leave last time.
The two of them were acting mysteriously, and no one knew what they were discussing.
Su Xiaoning quickly changed her mind and remained silent, hiding behind the rocks to eavesdrop on the two conversation, just like last time.
On the beach, Ding Yi stood in front of Su Qingcai, looking extremely anxious.
"Young master, please come back with me! Last time you said you didn't want to leave, so I gave you some time. Now that's enough time. If you don't leave now, things will become more complicated and difficult to resolve!"
Su Qingcai remained silent, standing still, a storm brewing in his gloomy eyes.
Ding Yi waited for a moment, and seeing that Su Qingcai still had no intention of leaving with him, he gritted his teeth, took a step forward, and raised his hand to chop down!
"Young master, I am already guilty of being late. If I cannot bring you back, I am afraid I will have to atone with my life. I am sorry!"
Unexpectedly, Su Qingcai reacted quickly, dodging Ding Yi's attack with a swift movement. He frowned and gave Ding Yi a cold look.
"You've gotten quite bold now, daring to lay a hand on me. So what if you're late? I'm safe and sound here, why are you so worried about me? You... no, why are you late?"
Su Qingcai suddenly remembered something. In his previous life, Ding Yi had quickly arrived at Carp Village and rescued him from that wicked woman. Although the course of events he encountered in this life was different, Ding Yi was not affected in any way. His actions should be the same as in his previous life!
Ding Yi, failing to understand the doubt in Su Qingcai's eyes and mistaking it for suspicion, quickly lowered his head and explained, "Young Master, this was not my intention. I was ambushed on the road and severely injured, unable to move. I have already found out that the assassins who ambushed me were the Seventh Prince's men..."
"It's him..."
Su Qingcai's expression hardened, and the memories in his mind gradually came to life.
He clashed with the Seventh Prince, Su Qinghe, in the capital. In his previous life, he was stranded in a fishing village, blinded and imprisoned by a wicked woman. Ding Yi rescued him, and the Seventh Prince, somehow receiving news, came to the village to take the wicked woman away, and even discovered a skilled shipbuilder. This man was extremely adept at shipbuilding and contributed greatly to the Seventh Prince's cause. The Seventh Prince, as if blessed with good fortune, used his luck to successfully ascend to the throne…
After Su Qingcai was reborn, he still had some memory loss. With the arrival of Ding Yi, he remembered more important things.
Koi carp, fishing villages, shipbuilders...
A thin mist obscured Su Qingcai's vision; he wanted to dispel the fog and reveal the truth.
"Ding Yi, don't worry about me for now. I have more important things to do here." Su Qingcai's sharp eyes narrowed, and his words left no room for refusal.
He wanted to stay in Carp Village, secretly find out who the shipbuilder was, and then strike first!
Ding Yi was unaware of Su Qingcai's thoughts. He was eager for his master to return and was about to continue persuading him when his eyes inadvertently caught sight of a corner of clothing peeking out from behind a rock not far away.
"Who's eavesdropping?!"
Ding Yi's expression changed, and he rushed over quickly, pulling the person out from behind the reef.
Su Xiaoning was caught off guard and her wrist was pulled painfully by Ding Yi. However, when she saw Su Qingcai's astonished face, she lowered her head guiltily and didn't say a word.
"Young master, this woman has ulterior motives. Let me deal with her!"
Ding's expression darkened, his eyes filled with murderous intent, and he looked at Su Xiaoning as if he wanted to kill her.
"Stop!" Su Qingcai's tone was tinged with anger. He grabbed Su Xiaoning's hand and pulled her to his side, then looked at Ding Yi with an extremely cold expression. "You go first, I'll talk to her."
"Young Master..." Ding opened his mouth as if to say something, but when he saw Su Qingcai's imposing gaze, he finally shut his mouth and left with a belly full of resentment.
After Ding Yi left, Su Qingcai finally released Su Xiaoning and looked straight at her, as if wanting an explanation from her.
Su Xiaoning took a few steps back, looking somewhat timid. She bit her lip, feeling incredibly wronged under Su Qingcai's compelling gaze.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation! I couldn't find you, so I thought you had already left and rushed out to look for you, which is how I overheard your conversation..."
"Su Qingcai, your identity is unusual, isn't it? You've never told me the truth, and now you're even having your men yell at me. If you don't want to leave, then tell me why you don't want to leave..."
