Chapter Twenty-Five: Is He Leaving?

"Let's go catch a ghost!"

...

As night fell, a chilling wind swept through the back mountain, and the faint sound of footsteps could be heard.

The villagers of Wanxia Village were on high alert, each wearing a ghost mask, ready to scare the person when she got close.

The footsteps grew closer, but suddenly stopped not far away. Some villagers, unable to contain their impatience, peeked out from the bushes, only to freeze in place.

A person whose gender was indistinguishable was standing on the road. She was hunched over with her back to the villagers, her body covered in a thick, blood-like red liquid, and she was emitting a sinister laugh.

"Hehehehe..."

A strange and shrill laugh echoed in the dark back mountain, sending a chill down one's spine.

Just then, the person suddenly turned her head, but her face was not a normal human face; it was covered in fangs and was quite terrifying!

"Oh my god! There's a ghost!"

The villagers let out a wail and scattered in all directions, not even caring about the belongings they had used to impersonate ghosts.

Su Xiaoning has excellent eyesight and immediately recognized that the fleeing people were villagers from Wanxia Village. She then understood who the "ghost" the travelers had encountered was.

She sneered, removed the ghost mask, wiped the fish blood off her face, and shouted, "If I find out you're ever pretending to be ghosts to scare people again, I'll never forgive you!"

The fleeing villagers wouldn't listen to Su Xiaoning's words. Some of them looked back in fear and thought Su Xiaoning had peeled their faces off. They were so frightened that they screamed and fainted.

"An evil god! The little girl from Carp Village is an evil god!"

The commotion ended abruptly, and everyone in Sunset Village knew what had happened last night. Everyone was furious, and rumors spread throughout the village that "Little Girl is an evil god."

As a result, Sunset Village severed ties with Carp Village, and the two became enemies, irreconcilable.

The bitter feud between the two villages caused great distress to the young couples in the villages. Xiao Lian from Carp Village and A Liang from Sunset Village had no choice but to elope.

Su Xiaoning was sighing over the incident when suddenly a loud "bang" came from the doorway! The door had been kicked open, and the person swaggered into the courtyard, shouting in a deep voice, "Where's Su Xiaoning? Come out here!"
