Chapter 7
The man stared at them with his dark pupils, looking so nervous that it was creepy.
Not knowing whether he couldn't speak or didn't know how to speak, Lin Fei shouted at him a few times, but the man still didn't respond.
Yitu couldn't help but frown. They couldn't tell whether the strange guy in front of them was an NPC or a monster set in the card field.
Everyone's breath was held in a daze until he tried to push open the wooden door that blocked the man's view, revealing his overly swollen body hidden behind the door.
Three or four layers of cotton clothes were tightly wrapped around the man, but this still couldn't cover up the disgusting smell of decay emanating from him.
But what made Yitu's scalp tingle the most was the dense and pervasive flies that were biting everywhere.
Large red-headed flies were lying on the man's hands, thighs, and even neck.
Wherever the men's skin was exposed, flies were crawling around, clinging on like bloodthirsty leeches.
"Oh my god, ugh!" Lin Fei couldn't help but shiver and got goose bumps all over his body.
"It's so weird, I want to vomit..." Zhang Queshan's stomach twitched before he could finish his words, and he turned his head to the side and started to dry heave.
Yitu also felt uncomfortable. The smell was too disgusting, and the man looked like a mutant made up of flies.
There were especially many flies gathered around his neck.
As the wooden door opened and sunlight shone in, the man subconsciously dodged inside the house, and the flies attached to it flew around because of his movement, making an irritating buzzing sound.
But the fly attached to its neck was reluctant to leave.
"Are we going in?" Fu Xue didn't realize that she instinctively looked at Yi Tu beside her.
"Wait a moment."
Yitu looked at the strange man who had retreated into the corner, then bent down and picked up a small piece of gravel from the ground.
"What are you doing?" Lin Fei was a little confused.
What answered him was the stone that Yitu threw out quickly.
The stone hit the man squatting in the corner quite accurately, and hit him right on the head, startling a large number of flies the moment it fell.
When countless flies were buzzing around, some even flew onto Lin Fei's face, scaring him so much that he started screaming and cursing.
"You're fucking sick, why did you provoke that thing?!"
Who knows if these flies are poisonous or carry any deadly viruses, comparable to those in the Resident Evil disaster.
Yi Tu gave him a cold look, and Lin Fei shut his mouth awkwardly.
Only after the fly flew away did they see the man's full appearance.
After being hit by the stone, he was still squatting in the corner in a daze, as if he had no consciousness.
All of his exposed skin had rotted away and swelled up like a steamed bun.
The left side of his neck seemed to have been gnawed by something, and a piece of flesh was missing. Flies were breeding and laying eggs in the warm body, and many white rice grains were moving around inside.
Fu Xue covered her nose and mouth with her hands, her voice muffled:
"He's covered in rotting flesh. No wonder the flies keep biting him."
Yitu stared at the man's injured neck again and again, "Who caused the injury on his neck?"
In fact, what he wanted to ask more was who this dead man was whose body was highly decomposed.
But before he could think about it, Lin Fei had already noticed the hammer on the shelf.
"Hey! The hammer is inside, can someone go in and get it?"
"Not sure." Fu Xue shook her head. The information they could get right now was too little. "Let's get the hammer first."
It’s not difficult to find a hammer, but the difficult part is who is willing to go into the shop and take it out.
What's more, in the corner of the shop, there was an inhuman monster covered with flies.
Yitu had not been in the card room for long, but through the various events that took place that day, the card room had been sending a message to the players.
That is undisguised malice, blatantly placing danger in front of the players and watching them have no choice but to perform the tragedy of death.
This is what happened to Duan Zixi when he was bitten by the white-faced old woman, and now they are soon facing a similar scene again.
Yitu originally thought that no one would be willing to enter this strange shop filled with a foul smell, but Aniu and Zhang Queshan walked in at the same time, which surprised him a little.
"Hey! You are really not afraid of death." Lin Fei shouted, looking frightened.
Yitu didn't know what he was thinking about, and followed the two of them.
As soon as I entered the store, the rotten smell became more and more unbearable. Even if I covered my mouth and nose with clothes, it still made me want to vomit.
Ah Niu's sturdy body made the already small shop even narrower. Two rows of colorfully dressed paper figures greeted the players in the aisle with half-smiles on their faces, which was extremely creepy.
Fortunately, paper figures used in funerals are not very particular. There is a saying that having eyes will attract ghosts. These paper figures do not have eyes, so the feeling of being strongly stared at is much less.
In the very center of the store lay a solid wooden coffin, with the coffin lid pressed tightly on top.
Although no one knew what the coffin was used for, no one dared to act rashly, and Yitu carefully avoided it.
The hammer was placed on the shelf behind the coffin, mixed with the candles and shrouds.
Zhang Queshan and Aniu walked to the shelf at the same time, and Zhang Queshan said hurriedly: "Let me get it."
But Aniu had no intention of letting him go. Relying on his tall stature and strong physique, he got the hammer faster than the other one.
"You're not tall enough." Aniu glanced at him and said calmly.
This sentence undoubtedly means that Zhang Queshan is not qualified and is a naked provocation.
Zhang Queshan's face darkened slightly. "If you show off without real ability, you will only die faster."
Ah Niu sneered after hearing this, "Are you talking about yourself?"
Zhang Queshan's expression suddenly turned ugly.
Although the players are competitors in the card game, they have always maintained a superficial peace and have never been as confrontational as this time.
The reason why competitors can maintain superficial peace is simply that their interests have not yet conflicted.
Yitu glanced at the two men, and it was obvious that they were fighting over the hammer.
He originally just wanted to watch quietly and not stir up trouble, but it was obvious that the place at this moment was not suitable for staying for too long.
Yitu kept paying attention, staring at the man in the corner, fearing that the monster would make any subsequent moves.
He interrupted the two: "We have to go."
Only then did Aniu and Zhang Queshan realize that the place they were in was not safe, and it was too late to leave.
The moment the three of them turned around, they froze in place.
The coffin placed behind them had its lid cracked silently at some point, as if something had quietly crawled out from inside.
They had no time to think about what came out of the coffin. The paper figures that were supposed to stand on both sides of the shop wall were already standing in front of the three of them, trapping them.
Yitu was shocked and broke out in a cold sweat. You know, the quarrel between Aniu and Zhang Queshan didn't last long, less than a minute at most.
But in this short minute, when the paper man moved, no sound was made.
Looking at the paper figures in front of him with exaggerated facial features, narrow eyes and cracked bright red mouth corners, they looked very cold, but at this moment their eyes were shining scarlet.
Yitu's heart sank, and something lit up the sky.
Zhang Queshan barely dodged the first red-clothed paper man that pounced on him. He covered his face in extreme embarrassment, and his hands were unsurprisingly stained with greasy blood.
"What the hell is going on!" Zhang Queshan cursed in a low voice.
And the next second, more paper figures came towards him with a cold aura.
Yitu is not very agile because he has been sitting in the office for many years, but he has extremely fast reflexes.
When the paper figure that looked like a funeral flower girl rushed to the door, he subconsciously raised his hand and waved it, feeling quite shocked.
The moment the paper figure was swung out, a pain like being hit by a stone instantly came over me.
Although these paper figures are made of paper, the game has given them attack power and weight that paper figures do not possess.
Kill people and destroy their hearts, leaving no way alive.
These eight words suddenly popped up in Yitu's mind, and the paper man made a dull sound when it fell to the ground, and the physical feeling was quite bad.
He clearly thought that the three of them were enough to tear all the paper figures into pieces the previous second, but the next second he felt that it was not the paper figures that were torn into pieces, but them.
Yitu soothed his numb arm, and Aniu followed behind him, grabbed the hammer and fought off two or three of them, his palm also numb from the shock.
He squeezed the hammer, but the handle was a bit slippery and difficult to use force. In front of them, there were at least five or six paper people eager to try.
Not being able to contact Fu Xue and Lin Fei outside the shop was not the worst thing. What was worse was that the monster that had been squatting in the corner began to slowly stand up and move towards them.
Yitu was keenly aware of this and knew they had to repel the paper figures blocking the exit, otherwise they would not be able to defeat the monsters that were already inhuman.
Looking at these increasingly ferocious paper figures, Yitu suddenly thought of a crucial point and asked:
"Is there any fire? Does anyone have a lighter?"
Aniu and Zhang Queshan were stunned, and they reacted immediately.
Although these paper figures are heavy and powerful, they are essentially made of paper.
Anything that is paper is afraid of fire.
Ah Niu quickly took out a prop from his body. It was a palm-sized □□. After pressing the trigger, the flames licked the paper man who tried to approach, and instantly ignited its body.
The red paper figure screamed silently, rolled on the ground and turned into ashes.
Its companions all huddled in the corner with fear on their faces, not daring to move forward, and the door of the shop finally appeared.
“Go, go, go!”
Yitu shouted and quickly pulled down the shelf behind him to block the fly monster that was about to pounce on him.
Just as they were about to leave the shop, Yitu subconsciously turned his head to look behind him. The paper people stood quietly in the darkness, giving him a final look.
The monster covered with flies roared and struggled to get up, and a yellowish-brown, withered hand stretched out from the gap in the mahogany coffin that had been motionless.
Yitu's heart skipped a beat, and the door of the shop closed tightly the next second after they stepped out.
Fu Xue, who had been waiting outside with nothing to do, stared intently at the comments of the card room owner that flashed by on the virtual panel in front of her.
[Anonymous Player 67: They are quite smart. They know how to grab the props.
Anonymous player 88: That new guy is so stupid. He probably doesn't know that some items in the card room can be taken out.
Anonymous player 299 asked: Why are there only three people in there? Are the others so timid? Are they too scared to go and grab the items?
Anonymous player 398: Why is this item a broken hammer? It's so low. People are still grabbing rubbish items. It really is a low-level card game.
Anonymous player 235: "Big brother, why are you talking so much nonsense about free props? If you're strong, why are you only a level 3 poker owner? If you have the ability, go to level 10."
Anonymous player 221: Haha, a level 10 card room owner, he might never meet one in his life, so funny.
Anonymous player 457: Damn, there really is something wrong with this item. It was bought so quickly?
Anonymous player 667: There is no free lunch in the world. I guess that newcomer is going to get nothing.
Anonymous player 344: Hahahaha look at that newcomer's shocked expression. He was just bumped into by an NPC ghost. Scared to death!]
Fu Xue looked at these comments and quickly realized that Aniu and the others must have been surrounded by NPC ghosts after they went in, but she had no intention of going in to rescue them.
Fu Xue just calmly looked at the comments passing by one by one. Aniu was her gaming spouse, and she knew Aniu's strength.
Because of this, she is too aware of each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Aniu has amazing physical strength but does not have a calculating mind, while Fu Xue is just the opposite.
Reading people's expressions was her strong point, and she was a thoughtful person, so she was always the one making the decisions in the card room, and Aniu just agreed.
But her ability to protect herself is extremely weak, and Fu Xue never participates in any dangerous part.
Because someone will move forward for her, and that person is Aniu.
Fu Xue saw that the discussion trend in the interactive area was gradually changing. The person they were discussing suddenly changed from Aniu to Yitu.
[Anonymous Player 277: Damn, this newcomer’s reaction is so fast.
Anonymous player 439: 111111, I thought they were going to use up their items, but this new guy...
Anonymous player 478: Good guy, newcomers without props can only rely on their IQ, 6666
Anonymous Player 365: Tsk, that's it? Boring. I still want to see their items and skill cards.
What did Yitu do? Fu Xue frowned slightly.
However, before she could continue reading, the three people in the shop rushed out.
The author has something to say:
Tonight is a game of spot the difference. Did you find anything? I changed the title of the article, even though it only has two words hahahahahaha (actually, the editor knocked on the door, feeling guilty.jpg)
The more comments you make, the more I'll write! So much motivation!
Baoer, see you tomorrow morning!
