The Empress thought highly of her, believing that only she could accomplish this task, and specially ordered her head maid, Zhi'er, to bring her to the main hall where the Emperor was.
Tao Tao stood in front of the palace gate, took a deep breath, turned to look at Zhi'er not far away, and then turned back.
Granny Wu sensed something was amiss, stepped forward, and whispered, "Princess? Did something happen in the Empress's palace just now?"
She shook her head without saying a word. Just as she took a step, someone saw her and quickly ran up to her.
Gao Liangui smiled warmly and said, "Oh, isn't this Princess Huaimin? Is there something important you need to see His Majesty?"
She recognized the person in front of her; it was the old eunuch who had delivered the imperial edict at the Eastern Palace last time.
Zhi'er, who was not far away, was extremely shocked to see Gao Liangui treating Tao Tao with such a gentle, even enthusiastic attitude.
