Chapter 280
Leng Qiao and Leng Chuan followed behind her, unable to stop her from doing anything.
She arrived at Guangzheng Hall with practiced ease. Gao Liangui was standing at the entrance. When he saw her, he looked surprised. "Princess Huaimin, what brings you here?"
"Is Duan Gan inside?"
Gao Liangui chuckled a few times, then, noticing her strange expression, said with a forced laugh, "It's so late, why would Lord Duan be inside?"
“Princess, you’ve come to the palace so late, surely you’re looking for Lord Duan? If so, you should go to the Privy Council. This is His Majesty’s bedroom; it’s not appropriate for you to barge in like this.”
Tao Tao looked into his eyes and said coldly, "Eunuch Gao, you don't need to lie to me. I know he's inside."
After saying that, she brushed aside his outstretched hand and strode forward.
Gao Liangui only made a token attempt to stop it and did not interfere much.
When Leng Qiao and Leng Chuan saw her go in, they crossed their arms and waited by the door.
After Tao Tao went inside, she didn't walk forward immediately. She took a deep breath, composed herself, and felt hot, wet tears welling up in her eyes before lifting her feet to move forward.
She entered the side hall on the right, and what came into view was a man sitting on a high seat.
That spot... is the dragon throne where the emperor sits.
The man, dressed in a dark purple brocade robe with intricate patterns, leaned back in his chair, his legs crossed on a golden nanmu wood table, his long, slender, pale fingers toying with a bright yellow imperial edict.
He leaned back in his chair, head slightly lowered, his long eyelashes casting a dark shadow on his pale face. His thin, well-shaped lips were slightly pursed, and he seemed lost in thought.
The eerie yellow candlelight flickered without wind, giving it an inexplicably sinister air, like a beautiful woman hiding a hideous demon beneath.
He looked up when he heard the sound.
When he saw the person approaching, his dark pupils dilated for a moment, then disappeared without a trace.
They ignored her completely, as if they hadn't seen her at all.
She stood below, her voice soft and sweet, calling out, "Master..."
After a moment of silence, the surroundings fell completely still. After a long silence without his response, she let out a silent sigh, then called out again in a strained voice, "Master, I was wrong..."
Her voice was already clear and sweet, but this deliberate use of embellishment made it even sweeter, and one note after another made one's bones feel numb.
The sound gave her goosebumps.
Seeing that he still didn't react, Tao Tao walked directly in front of him, reached out and tugged at his sleeve, "Si Lang, why are you ignoring me?"
Her almond-shaped eyes were red, and her voice was aggrieved and slightly choked. She was admitting her mistake, but in his opinion, she didn't actually think she was wrong at all.
The man lowered his gaze to the snow-white fingers at the hem of his clothes, let out a soft scoff, and a faint mockery appeared on his indifferent face.
He looked up into her eyes, his cold gaze lingering on her small face.
He stretched out two long, slender, pale fingers, pinched her chin, leaned close to her, and said through gritted teeth, "Haven't you had enough of playing with me? What are you doing back here?"
His expression was slightly ferocious, his dark eyes were sinister and full of malice, as if he wanted to skin her alive and tear her apart, which startled her instantly.
A tear that had been resting on his eyelashes fell with a soft thud onto the back of his hand.
A warm, moist sensation instantly spread from his skin, burning all the way to the depths of his heart.
"Tao Tao! What do you take me for? A dog that comes when summoned and goes when dismissed? Or someone you can disregard, someone you can come and go as you please?!"
"Are you still treating me like a tool to be used? You fawn over me when you need me, but discard me like trash when you don't. You've gone too far!"
His questions, each word like a cry of blood, made his beautiful eyes slightly redden, a beauty that was breathtaking.
She stared at it, mesmerized.
This beautiful woman, so broken and wronged, is truly... she really likes her so much.
The girl stood on tiptoe and, under his gaze, gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
The man's pupils constricted instantly, and a strange expression appeared on his face. "You..."
Before he could speak, he was kissed heavily again, and a warm, sweet fragrance wafted towards him.
For a moment he was stunned, frozen in place, his lips slightly parted, when she leaned in again and kissed his thin red lips.
Duan Gan lowered his eyes, his gaze flickering, and a blush crept onto the tips of his fair ears.
Tao Tao reached out and hugged his neck, propped herself up on the chair with her knees, spread her legs apart, and knelt on his lap.
"I was wrong, I really, really know I was wrong, please don't ignore me."
She pouted, spoke in a soft voice, and coquettishly looked down into his watery eyes, her cold expression seeming to soften considerably.
Suddenly, as if realizing something, he frowned slightly, and a hint of annoyance flashed in his eyes.
He was angry with himself for being so easily bewitched by her. He had been determined to punish her properly, but in the end, she had him under her control again.
Seeing that he was still angry, Tao Tao pressed her lips to his forehead, slowly moving them down to his eyelids, the tip of his nose, and his cheeks, finally sucking on his rosy lips.
He didn't dare to move the whole time, holding his breath, but his heart was pounding harder and harder.
Later, he couldn't hold back any longer. He reached out and grabbed the back of her neck, passionately kissing her soft, red lips, his tongue plunging deep inside, lingering and intertwining.
The romantic and intense atmosphere between them continued to rise.
He only relaxed slightly when she was almost out of breath and reached out to pat his shoulder.
She quickly turned her head away, and his hot lips pressed against the corner of her mouth, his scalding breath spraying onto her cheek.
Even her face felt a burning sensation.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, she froze.
The two were pressed close together, with no distance between them, and could clearly sense the changes in each other's bodies.
Just then, a hoarse panting sound came from the inner chamber on the left, which startled her so much that she instinctively burrowed into his arms.
Duan Gan lowered his head and gazed at the delicate young woman nestled in his arms. Her frightened appearance was truly adorable.
A smile crept onto his lips as he reached out and patted her slender back, comforting her.
He whispered, "It's nothing, it's nothing, just a cripple."
Upon hearing this, she slowly turned her head from his embrace to look at him. She could only hear his voice but not see him, so he must be unable to move.
She suddenly remembered that this was the Guangzheng Hall, the emperor's residence, and that sound from just now...
Tao Tao turned to look at him, her eyes questioning him, and he quickly nodded.
"Si Lang, there's something I'd like to discuss with you."
She looked somewhat hesitant.
"I don't want to hear it." Knowing she wouldn't say anything nice, he simply said it directly.
She frowned, looking somewhat displeased.
