Chapter 173
Duan Gan responded, but remained standing there without moving, his arms around her waist, his head lowered and his eyes fixed on her.
Tao Tao was getting impatient with the stares, and with dawn approaching, she felt a growing anxiety.
He leaned down and pressed his thin lips against her soft, warm lips, not deeply, just close, occasionally giving them a tender peck, and affectionately rubbing his nose against her pert, rounded nose.
Their breaths mingled, and she looked up at him with hazy eyes, a few sticky syllables escaping her lips.
"...Okay, okay, it's time to go back..."
A slight noise came from outside, but the two people inside didn't notice it. They slowly approached until a shout came, which brought Tao Tao back to her senses.
"Tao'er... are you awake?"
She was startled, her heart clenched, she steadied herself, and turned her head to look at the doorway with trembling pupils.
It was Tao Mu's voice.
It's not far from the entrance.
She didn't respond, nor dared to move. She wondered how her mother knew she wasn't asleep when there were no candles lit in the room. Or perhaps she had heard something? She tentatively asked.
The man standing behind her noticed her tense spirit and stiff body, and suddenly had some wicked thoughts.
He leaned down, buried his head in the back of her neck, and pressed his lips to her cool skin, seemingly indifferent and not paying any attention to what was happening.
Tao Tao felt the damp touch on the back of her neck and was speechless for a moment, her nervousness only increasing.
After calling out once from outside, Tao's mother fell silent, but there were no footsteps heard as she left; she seemed to still be standing not far from the doorway.
She could imagine that her mother was definitely watching her closely. Her mother was sensitive and, although she didn't say it out loud, she would always think things through.
Therefore, she dared not move at all, which only made the man behind her more amused and aroused his wicked intentions to tease her.
Warm lips and tongue licked and kissed the back of her neck, making her fair neck red and wet.
Tao Tao turned her head and glared at him angrily, warning him with her eyes not to move around anymore. She took a deep breath and tried to control her increasingly chaotic breathing.
The man ignored her, opened his mouth, revealing sharp teeth, and bit down on the back of her neck, grinding them back and forth.
The stinging pain made her bite her lower lip, but it wasn't too bad; it was a little uncomfortable, but still bearable.
Suddenly, her legs went weak. Although she knew that the large hand around her waist was holding her tightly in its embrace, she couldn't help but instinctively reach out and press against the wooden door to steady herself.
The slight clanging sound made Tao's mother, who had turned to leave, quickly turn back, frown, and call out again.
"Tao'er? Is that you? If you don't come back to your mother, she's going to come in."
Tao Tao was immediately terrified, realizing she could no longer pretend to be mute, and quickly called out, "Mother..."
She was startled by her own trembling voice as soon as she spoke, so she quickly covered her mouth, cleared her throat, and then said, "Mom, what's wrong? I just woke up and got up to have some water."
Tao's mother looked at the tightly closed carved wooden door with a hesitant expression and a furrowed brow.
"Tao'er, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, Mom, I need to rest."
She had barely finished speaking when the man behind her licked the teeth marks on her skin with the tip of his tongue, sending shivers down her spine.
"Okay, then you can rest."
Tao's mother looked up at the sky, which was gradually turning white. She was about to say that it was already dawn and she was still resting, but then she remembered that her daughter had a habit of sleeping in late. After confirming that she was alright, she turned around and went back into the house.
Tao Tao waited for a while, and only breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the door close. Her stiff body relaxed a lot.
Suddenly, a muffled laugh was heard, followed by a low, hoarse voice.
"Little Peach, you're so funny..."
Upon hearing this, she gave a silent, cold laugh, thinking to herself, "Interesting, huh? It can get even more interesting."
So she turned around and looked at him with a smile: "Si Lang, I have something even more interesting to tell you, would you like to see it?"
Upon hearing this, he raised an eyebrow, staring at her with interest, a playful smile on his lips.
She didn't say anything, but reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck with a soft and harmless smile. The next second, her eyes turned cold, and she used her right hand to draw three nail marks on the side of his neck.
His smile vanished instantly, his brows furrowed slightly, then relaxed. He reached out and took her hand, glancing down at the blood between her fingers. His gaze fell on her smug face, and he kissed her.
He murmured, nibbling at her full, red lips, "You really won't let me suffer even the slightest loss..."
She disagreed with that statement, believing she had already suffered enough losses.
The two lingered for a while longer until she caught a glimpse of light by the window out of the corner of her eye. She realized it was too late. Seeing that he was still clinging to her, she reached out and grabbed his flowing long hair.
Duan Gan frowned, a hint of displeasure flashing in his hot, hazy eyes. He even bit her lower lip as they parted.
She gasped in pain, but still didn't let go of his hair.
He was forced to tilt his head back, his eyelashes fluttering and casting a dark shadow on his face. He breathed heavily and looked down at her, revealing an air of superiority.
Tao Tao, with her sharp eyes, noticed this, snorted coldly, let go of his hand, and then shoved him away.
"go out."
She stood by the door with her arms crossed, her expressionless face clearly showing that she was angry.
He frowned in confusion and asked softly, "What's wrong? Are you angry? You scratched me like this and I'm not angry. People outside will laugh at me. Aren't you satisfied?"
He couldn't help but sigh at how unpredictable this woman's thoughts were, truly making them impossible for him to fathom.
Upon hearing this, she glanced sideways at his pale neck with three bloody marks, her eyes flickering.
"I'm not angry. You should go back now, or you really won't be able to leave later."
He hummed in agreement, stared intently at her, reached out and patted her head, then opened the door and went out.
Seeing that he had finally left, she breathed a sigh of relief. Sleepiness instantly washed over her. She rubbed her eyes, stretched, turned around, and collapsed onto the bed, pulling the covers over her head and falling asleep.
During this time, Rong'er came to knock on the door, but there was no response from inside. Just as she was about to knock a fourth time, Xixin hurriedly came forward to stop her.
She said confidently, "The boss likes to wake up naturally. If you disturb her at this time, she will be angry."
"But..." Rong'er had been by her side for a while, so she naturally knew, but she had never seen her sleep until the very end of the afternoon.
Xi Xin, however, chuckled and pushed her away, saying, "Come on, I know how to make paper offerings, I'll teach you..."
Rong'er exclaimed in surprise upon hearing this, and there was also a hint of fear in her voice.
She had seen those things before and always felt uneasy about them, so she never dared to touch them. She never expected that Xixin would be so familiar with these things.
