"President Su, would you like to have something to eat?"
Aunt Mei knocked on the door, looked at Su Zhinan who was getting thinner and thinner, and said.
Su Zhinan looked up from the photo frame in his hand and quickly wiped his face after realizing it was wet.
"Put it on the table, I'll eat it later."
Aunt Mei sighed. These past few days, whenever President Su had free time, he would look at photos of Miss Su when she was a child, and he didn't even have time to eat.
He looked visibly much older.
Upon hearing Aunt Mei come downstairs, Su Zhinan lowered his head and stroked the chubby face of Su Ping as a child in the photo frame, his eyes welling up with tears again.
“Pingping, my lawyer told me today that the verdict for the person who framed you is out: life imprisonment.”
"Your father is useless; he couldn't avenge you, leaving you to perish alone at sea."
"Dad is ashamed to be reunited with you and your daughter..."
The moon outside the window disappeared into the clouds, and Su Zhinan felt someone pat his shoulder.
When I opened my eyes, I realized that I had fallen asleep on the sofa without even realizing it.
"dad."
The long-lost voice rang out, and Su Zhinan was stunned for a moment, then looked to the side as if struck by lightning.
Su Ping looked at Su Zhinan's haggard face, and her eyes stung with tears.
In less than a month, my father seemed to have a lot more gray hair, and his once rosy cheeks had become quite sunken.
Su Zhinan rubbed his eyes, and when he opened them again and saw Su Ping sitting there, he couldn't help but reach out and hold her hand tightly.
"Pingping, you finally remembered to visit your father in a dream."
Su Ping held his hand: "Dad, you've lost a lot of weight lately. Have you been eating on time?"
Upon hearing this, Su Zhinan rolled up his sleeves, revealing his extremely thin arms.
"Don't let Dad's current thinness fool you; when he was young, he could take on two people at once."
Su Ping chuckled, and tears silently streamed down her face.
Seeing his daughter smile, Su Zhinan lowered his sleeves: "That's right, my daughter should be smiling and carefree."
Even though he himself was not very energetic, he still tried to make himself laugh.
As Su Ping watched, tears welled up in her eyes again, but she forced a smile.
Su Zhinan reached out and touched her head, then looked at her cautiously as if he had thought of something.
Pingping, have you seen your mother?
Su Zhinan actually loves Su Ping's mother very much, otherwise he wouldn't have remained unmarried for so many years.
However, out of consideration for his daughter's feelings, he never mentioned anything about his wife in front of her.
His eyes held a deep longing and yearning for his deceased wife, and Su Ping nodded.
"Yes, I saw her. Mom is very beautiful. She said Dad is too old now and not good enough for her."
Su Zhinan laughed out loud, recalling his wife's appearance when she was young; she was indeed quite beautiful.
Pingping perfectly inherited her wife's looks.
"That's good, that's good. Remember to apologize to Mom for Dad, for leaving her all alone down there all these years..."
Su Zhinan didn't want her to see him cry, so he turned away and secretly wiped his tears with his sleeve.
When he turned back, a smile appeared on his face again.
The two hadn't seen each other for a long time and had so much to talk about.
Su Ping listened to Su Zhinan talk a lot about his time with his wife when he was young.
When he talked about his wife, a tender expression unconsciously appeared on his face.
Even though decades have passed, he can still remember every single detail from that time clearly.
Su Ping listened intently, recalling the scene of their meeting and falling in love when they were young.
She thought, this is probably what love looks like in its early stages.
Compared to today's fast-paced world, most of my parents' love stories started with a love letter.
She couldn't help but think of that lyric.
Su Zhinan was lost in his memories, only realizing belatedly that he had talked too much.
Fearing that Su Ping might get bored, he quickly looked up.
But I noticed she had a smile on her face and showed no impatience whatsoever.
He finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Pingping has really changed a lot. Before, if she talked to me for more than three sentences, she would impatiently yell and slam the door and leave.
Not to mention now that he's sitting here obediently listening to me recount my memories for hours.
[Host, it's almost time.]
As the voice of the Calabash Brothers rang out, Su Ping's smile froze.
Su Zhinan keenly sensed her emotional change and felt reluctant to part with her.
"Pingping, are you leaving?"
Su Ping nodded and gave Su Zhinan a final hug before leaving.
“Dad, you must take good care of yourself while I’m away. Mom certainly doesn’t want you to live in pain.”
Su Zhinan nodded repeatedly with red eyes, feeling Pingping's body in his arms becoming more and more transparent.
Finally, the wind parted the clouds, and the moon gradually sank.
Su Zhinan woke up from his sleep, his eyes slightly moist.
He just dreamt about Pingping.
Su Ping got up and drank a cup of tea, but her mood remained unsettled for a long time.
Su Zhinan is a good husband and an even better father.
Hopefully, many years later he will be able to reunite with his wife and the real Su Ping.
The next day, Su Ping wanted to ask Li Moyu out for a stroll, but the girl hung up on her without saying a word.
A message came a few seconds later.
"Watching a movie with a male college student, please do not disturb."
Good, good, good! This woman who forgets her friends for the sake of a pretty face!
For some reason, Lu Zhiyan called to question why she hadn't replied to his messages last night.
Su Ping opened WeChat in confusion and saw the goodnight message he sent at 1 a.m.
No, is he sick?
You can't sleep at 1 a.m., so you send a message to someone and expect an instant reply?
Su Ping was already quite annoyed, so she hung up the phone without saying a word.
Less than two minutes later, the phone rang.
"Lu Zhiyan, that's enough. You made a WeChat call and then called my phone number."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone. Su Ping thought she might have yelled at the wrong person and glanced at the incoming call.
It was indeed an unfamiliar number.
After she calmed down, the other person tentatively spoke.
"Miss Su? I'm the manager of Meise. Do you remember me?"
Enchanting allure?
Su Ping remembered that this was the place where Li Moyu had held a party for her with a young male model last time.
Could it be that the young male model couldn't find her and called the manager instead?
Before Su Ping could speak, the manager's voice rang out again.
Would you like to come and take a look?
"That part-time boy you took away last time seems to have gotten into trouble this time..."
Su Ping didn't realize who he was talking about for a moment.
It took me two seconds to realize that I was referring to Wen Shu.
Why is he going to do a part-time job again? Weren't we told not to let him do it?
Su Ping had a bit of a headache. Thinking about that bowl of pork rib soup from last time, she decided to grab her car keys and head over there.
When she arrived, the manager was already waiting for her on the first floor.
"What happened?"
The manager looked like he didn't know how to start the conversation.
"You'll see when you go and take a look."
