Fortunately, there was a flower shop nearby that was still open. Su Ping picked out a bouquet of carnations, bought some fruit, and then followed Wen Shu into the hospital elevator.
There weren't many people getting injections in the ward that night. When Su Ping and Wen Shu pushed open the ward door, the people chatting inside all looked over.
"Xiaomei, is this your son?"
At first, only Wen Shu's mother, Ma Xiaomei, stayed in the ward. The older woman in the next bed was admitted in the afternoon.
Upon seeing Wen Shu enter, he greeted him warmly.
Ma Xiaomei nodded, her gaze falling on Su Ping, who was following behind her son.
This was the first time Su Ping had seen her. The woman was wearing a hat and was incredibly thin, but thankfully her complexion was still rosy.
"Mom, Pingping and I have come to see you."
Wen Shu took it upon himself to call Su Ping by the same name as Li Moyu, and breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed out of the corner of his eye that there was nothing unusual about her face.
At the same time, he didn't reveal Su Ping's identity to his mother; it was just an instinctive reaction, and he couldn't explain why he did it that way.
Su Ping placed the things in her hand on the bedside table and said with a smile.
"Hello, Auntie. My name is Su Ping. I'm Wen Shu's friend. I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I just bought some random things."
No sooner had she finished speaking than the older woman in the next bed chuckled and said, "Young lady, you're so shy. What friend? Girlfriend, perhaps?"
Ma Xiaomei was very happy because, due to her illness, her son and she had been living frugally, let alone having the time and energy to date.
This was the first time he had brought a girl to see him.
The girl was all smiles, and her appearance was quite pleasing.
"It's enough that you've come, why do you need to buy anything?"
Wen Shu was still basking in the joy of hearing the old lady next door say that Su Ping was his girlfriend.
The next second, she heard her mother holding Su Ping's hand and asking, "Pingping, how did you and Wenshu meet?"
The expressions on Su Ping and Wen Shu's faces suddenly became somewhat subtle.
The way they met was somewhat improper, which is something that certainly cannot be told to Ma Xiaomei.
Fortunately, she quickly came up with a reason: "We met when we were working part-time together."
Ma Xiaomei nodded in satisfaction, and after chatting with Su Ping for a while, she liked it more and more.
It's truly a blessing for their family that their quiet, reserved son has found such a wonderful girl.
Su Ping felt that she might have misunderstood, so she thought for a moment and explained, "Auntie, Wen Shu and I are not boyfriend and girlfriend. I have a boyfriend."
Suddenly, the ward fell silent. Even the old lady in the next bed, who had just been praising the two, turned over and pretended to be asleep.
Ma Xiaomei nodded awkwardly and quickly glanced at her son.
I noticed he looked hurt.
A mother's heart is connected to her son's; she could sense that her son was interested in this girl.
But the girl said she has a boyfriend, so how could my son be so inconsiderate?
Wen Shu didn't expect that she really disliked her, and was so eager to sever ties with her that she didn't even bother to pretend in front of her mother.
Is he really that bad?
After exchanging a few more words, Su Ping realized that Ma Xiaomei probably had something to say to Wen Shu, so he made an excuse to take his leave.
Upon hearing this, Wen Shu followed behind her, saying, "I'll see you off."
Before Su Ping could speak, she heard Ma Xiaomei's voice behind her.
"Son, Mom has something I want to tell you."
Wen Shu was caught in a dilemma and eventually returned to the ward.
After seeing Su Ping walk out of the ward, Ma Xiaomei placed her hand on Wen Shu's hand earnestly.
She sighed, "Son, it's all my fault for dragging you down with me."
Wen Shu didn't know why she suddenly said that, and her nose tingled as she quickly said, "Mom, what are you saying? Without you, there would be no me."
Ma Xiaomei, her eyes moist, patted his head: "That girl was nice, but she has a boyfriend, and you..."
These words caused Wen Shu a dull ache in his heart. He couldn't control his heart; wherever she was, his gaze would unconsciously follow her.
Suddenly he saw the car keys on the table, wiped away his tears and said to Ma Xiaomei, "Mom, Pingping forgot her keys, I'll go and bring her the car keys."
Ma Xiaomei sighed as she watched her son stride away.
This kid is probably really in love.
As soon as Su Ping stepped out of the elevator, she heard the voice of the Calabash Brothers.
[Host, the character you're targeting, Yun Qi, is asleep. The dream is ready. Would you like to enter the dream now?]
Su Ping was so angry she almost laughed. She was still outside; how could she possibly enter someone's dream?
Are you suggesting we let her sleep standing up?
Su Ping walked to the car, opened her backpack but didn't see the car keys.
Could it have been left somewhere?
Just as she was recalling the possible places she might fall, Wen Shu's voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Pingping, your keys!"
Su Ping turned around and saw Wen Shu calling her name at the hospital entrance before rushing towards her.
Undeterred and full of youthful energy, he resembles the entrance of a male lead in a Japanese drama.
Wen Shu didn't know why he wanted to see her so much, even though he hadn't felt this way before.
It's as if she's bewitched me ever since she returned from that ship trip.
He couldn't help but search for her in the crowd, and he would go crazy with jealousy if he saw her smiling at other men.
Su Ping reached for the keys, but Wen Shu, who rushed up, couldn't stop and tackled her against the car wall.
For a moment, she heard a strong, thumping heartbeat.
Wen Shu's face immediately turned red, and she quickly stood up.
"Sorry, I didn't control my speed well."
Where Su Ping couldn't see, he curled his lips into a smile.
Actually, he did it on purpose. He deliberately didn't stop, and he deliberately calculated his movements to get close to her without hurting her.
Su Ping waved his hand dismissively, thanked him, and took the car keys.
As Wen Shu watched her open the car door, intending to see her off, he suddenly saw her squint and lie down directly in the driver's seat.
They even forgot to close the car door.
He was startled and quickly got into the car to check.
Pingping, are you alright?
Wen Shu called her twice, but found that she only frowned and then returned to normal.
Her breathing was steady, and she even slapped him impatiently when he called her name.
"Don't make noise, let me sleep for a while."
It turned out she was asleep.
Wen Shu concealed his thoughts, sat in the passenger seat, and casually closed the car door.
The streetlights shone through the car window onto her, giving her a serene and peaceful appearance.
She looks so cute when she's asleep, like a little kitten.
She looks docile, but if you tease her, she'll reach out and scratch you.
Wen Shu suddenly smiled and couldn't help but reach out and poke her cheek.
When Su Ping opened her eyes and saw herself standing outside the abandoned warehouse, she knew she had been tricked by the Calabash Brothers.
