Chapter 176 Am I ugly?

[Host, the key is behind the Buddha statue.]

? ? ?

Su Ping's heart trembled with excitement, and her hands shook as she remarked that the Calabash Brothers had finally had a change of heart and did a good deed.

[Host, if you cricket at me again, I won't help you next time.]

Su Ping held the key in her hand and compared it to the lock on the door; it was indeed the same.

[Good girl, you're the best system!]

Calabash Brothers then gave a satisfied hum and fell silent.

She had to sneak out Tie Niu while Lu's mother was downstairs dealing with the guests.

But the cheongsam had no pockets, so she had nowhere to put her keys.

Finally, Su Ping inserted the key into her hair.

Luckily, she has a lot of hair, and it's currently coiled up, so you can't see it at all when the key is inserted.

She's such a clever little devil!

Lu Zhiyan was getting impatient and was about to knock on the door again when he saw Su Ping open the door from the inside.

It was a white cheongsam, probably bought by Lu's mother a few years ago, but she never wore it again because she didn't like it.

Am I ugly?

Su Ping noticed that he was staring straight at her, so she looked down at him.

Lu Zhiyan awkwardly looked away: "It's so-so."

Su Ping noticed his slightly red ear tips and her eyes darted around.

"You say it's just so-so, but why don't you dare look me in the eye? If you looked at me closely, I don't believe you would still think it's just so-so."

Lu Zhiyan looked at her as if she were an idiot.

She's quite good-looking, but sometimes she's not very bright.

He coughed and said, "Let's go, Mother is waiting for us downstairs."

Su Ping rubbed her temples and leaned against him.

Before she could get close, Lu Zhiyan dodged to the side like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

"I suddenly feel a bit unwell in my head, I don't know if it's because I just fell."

Looking at her, Lu Zhiyan felt a surge of irritation.

He felt increasingly uneasy lately. Was it because of the woman in front of him?

Just as Su Ping was about to continue, she heard Lu Zhiyan say, "If you're not feeling well, go back to your room and rest. It's alright."

Su Ping had been waiting for him to say those words, but she still wore a conflicted and troubled expression.

"Wouldn't that be inappropriate? I don't want to leave a bad impression on your aunt..."

Lu Zhiyan snorted inwardly, wanting to tell her that after what had just happened, everyone already had a bad impression of her.

But seeing her red eyes, he still didn't say those words.

Women are indeed the most troublesome!

He patted Su Ping's head, about to comfort her, when he suddenly felt something hard.

The two of them froze for a moment without realizing it.

Su Ping quickly realized what was happening. Just as Lu Zhiyan was curiously trying to brush her hair aside to look, she covered her head, cried out in pain, and took two steps back.

This startled Lu Zhiyan.

He didn't use much force, so how did he hurt her?

Only after Su Ping made sure the key wasn't showing did she look at him with teary eyes.

"I just bumped my head on the ground and got a bump. You just touched it."

Lu Zhiyan suddenly doubted her own sense of touch. Was that bag as hard as a rock?

Seeing that he didn't believe her, Su Ping had no choice but to use her trump card.

"It hurts, I need to groan."

Lu Zhiyan felt a chill run down his spine when he saw her pouting as she approached him, and quickly turned away.

"Go back to your room and rest. I'll get you some medicine tonight."

After saying that, he quickly walked towards the stairs, as if some ferocious beast was chasing him.

Su Ping smiled and looked for other passages to get down to the first floor.

That staircase connects to the first floor; if she goes down that way, she'll definitely be spotted.

A gust of wind suddenly blew up behind her, and Su Ping glanced at the window that was swaying back and forth in the wind.

She walked over there on a whim and sure enough, she saw a small door next to the window, which was where the servants usually rested.

In order to facilitate movement between the upstairs and downstairs without disturbing Lu Zhiyan and the others, there was indeed a small wooden ladder inside, connecting to the lawn outside.

Su Ping climbed down the shaky wooden ladder.

She always felt that the wooden ladder was not stable and seemed like it might collapse at any moment.

She finally made it to the first floor, and was already covered in sweat.

A gust of evening wind made her shiver.

The sounds from the living room could be heard faintly. Su Ping crouched down, trying to avoid being exposed to the light.

After finally reaching a dark place, she straightened her back and swaggered over there.

She was focused on the road beneath her feet and didn't see that someone was following her not far behind.

Suddenly, another loud clap of thunder sounded in the sky, and Su Ping shrank his neck.

It's likely that a heavy rain is coming soon. If it rains, the guests who came tonight will probably say goodbye and go home, and then Lu's mother will soon find that she is not in the room.

Su Ping quickened her pace and walked in that direction. She needed to secretly release Tie Niu before the banquet ended and then put the key back in.

She quickly went outside. The talisman on the paper made her feel complicated, so she simply tore it up.

Tie Niu is a living, breathing person. Why is he being secretly locked up in this place, and even have these superstitious talismans pasted on his body?

Su Ping reached out and knocked on the door, and the people inside quickly heard the noise.

She was met with a meow.

"Tie Niu, are you there?"

No one spoke for a long time inside, but Su Ping was certain that Tie Niu was behind the door.

"I'm not the Tie Niu you're talking about. You can leave now, and don't come here again."

A man's voice came from inside, telling him to leave.

Hearing Tie Niu's voice again, Su Ping was somewhat moved.

Tie Niu must have recognized her voice when he was in the tree, otherwise he wouldn't have thought of climbing the pillar to rescue her.

But why won't he acknowledge himself as his father?

Su Ping decided to open the door and talk to him face to face.

She pulled the key out of her hair and, in the dark, aimed it at the keyhole.

Thunder rumbled and wind howled, like a song from hell.

This was the first time Su Ping had done something like this, and she couldn't get the key in after several attempts.

The man inside was somewhat surprised to see that she had actually found the key, but then continued to persuade her.

"Don't waste your energy. I'm really not the person you're looking for. Even if you open the door, I won't go with you."

Su Ping was no longer listening to what he was saying; she had lost her temper and was arguing with the lock.

What a stupid lock! It's so hard to open!

Inside, Tie Niu was still trying to persuade her, which only made her more annoyed.

She couldn't help but kick the wooden door, threatening, "Don't say anything yet!"

After hearing this, Tie Niu indeed shut up.

Satisfied, Su Ping turned her gaze away and focused on studying the lock in her hand.

With a "click," the lock in my hand was successfully opened.

Su Ping quickly removed the lock and also took down the iron chain attached to the door.

With locks and chains on, how afraid are they of the people inside running away?
