Chapter 30 Two Crazy Couples

The sound of the Calabash Brothers made Su Ping's hands and feet go cold, and at the same time, a sense of powerlessness welled up in her heart, the kind of fate that novel characters can only be controlled by the plot.

"Thank you, Yichen. You're so kind. Find a vase and pick out a few nice ones to grow."

After a tense standoff of about ten seconds, Zhen Xiang turned her gaze away from Song Yifei, smiling, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.

Song Yifei stood there somewhat helplessly, her hands hanging limply at her sides.

Was it just her imagination? Yichen's mother didn't seem to like her very much.

Seeing that things were not going well, Su Ping took Song Yifei's arm and walked upstairs.

"I'll do it. Yichen, you keep Aunt Zhen company. I remember there's a pretty vase that's been sitting unused on the corner of the second floor."

"Haha, you little rascal, you've got your eye on all the good stuff."

Behind him came Zhen Xiang's heartfelt laughter, full of affection, completely different from the forced smile she had given earlier.

Song Yifei pursed her lips; this differential treatment made it hard for her not to overthink things.

But then she remembered that Su Ping was someone she had watched grow up, and naturally, she couldn't compare to someone she had only just met.

"Sister Yifei?"

Su Ping's voice brought her back to her senses, and she shook her head.

Pingping is doing well now, so why would she think that way?

"You sit here and wait for me. I'll go get a pair of scissors and fill the vase with some water while I'm at it."

After going up to the second floor, Su Ping led Song Yifei to the balcony, where there was a large table, which was just right for them to arrange the flowers.

Watching her retreating figure, Song Yifei fell into deep thought again.

Pingping felt right at home at Yichen's house.

Is it really just a childhood sweetheart relationship? Does Yi Chen really only see Ping Ping as a younger sister, as he claims?

Startled by this absurd thought, Song Yifei quickly shook her head.

When Su Ping returned, she noticed that Song Yifei's expression was even worse than before, realizing that she was bothered by Zhen Xiang's words.

"Sister Yifei, Aunt Zhen is just like that. She doesn't mean any harm. When I was little, she often complained that I made her house very dirty every time I came to visit."

Knowing that Su Ping was trying to comfort her, Song Yifei smiled and shook her head, indicating that she didn't care.

But do you really not care?

She herself didn't know.

When the two returned to the first floor, they found that Zhen Xiang and Xu Yichen seemed to have had a quarrel, and neither of them was willing to give in, so they looked very unhappy.

"I think you've lost your mind. Ping'er has grown up with you since she was little, and both of our parents have been thinking about you getting married. You've done this terrible thing."

"Mom, I've already told you I only see Xiaoping as a little sister, why are you and Dad forcing me?"

"How is this forcing you? Think about it carefully. After you graduate and take over the company, what can she bring you?"

Oops!

Su Ping wanted to rush over and cover their mouths, but wouldn't that just draw the fire to her?

Song Yifei remained silent, her mood, which had just improved, darkened again.

The two men's argument escalated, and Su Ping cleared his throat and shouted, a sound that could be heard across the street.

"Aunt Zhen! Where do you think we should put this vase?"

Zhen Xiang was startled by her, and the words she was about to say stuck in her throat. She couldn't remember what she was going to say.

"Just put it on this table."

The meal ended in an eerily quiet atmosphere.

Zhenxiang ate a few bites of food and then said she felt unwell and went back to her room to rest. I don't know if it was because of the shouting she had just received, but she didn't even eat any cake.

Xu Yichen secretly glanced at Song Yifei several times, but she just kept her head down and ate the plate of shredded potatoes in front of her.

"Yifei, have a taste..."

He was about to pick up a chicken leg for her when he saw Song Yifei put down her chopsticks: "I'm full."

As Su Ping was eating, she felt a pair of chopsticks being held out in front of her, and then a chicken leg was thrown heavily into her bowl.

No, what do you mean by giving this to me?

Am I also part of your play?

Song Yifei looked at Xu Yichen in disbelief, her eyes growing redder and redder. She had already suffered injustice, and now she couldn't hold back anymore.

"Sister Yifei, I think you two can sit down and have a proper talk..."

Before Su Ping could finish speaking, Song Yifei suddenly stood up.

"Pingping, I'm going home now."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Watching Xu Yichen chase after her, Su Ping shook her head, and the food in her bowl lost its appeal.

What a terrible thing to do.

The next day, Su Ping was woken up by her alarm clock.

As expected, the most powerful number 1 is still Monday.

A few people were scattered around the bus stop, waiting for the bus.

As the weather gets hotter, people are reluctant to gather together and prefer to stand as far apart as possible.

The driver opened the bus door, and a wave of intense heat rushed out.

Su Ping almost vomited up her leftovers, but forced herself to walk to the car despite feeling unwell.

In the car, Song Yifei sat by the window, Xu Yichen sat next to her, and Song Qi sat behind them.

Song Qi made no attempt to hide his dislike for Xu Yichen. Last night, his sister locked herself in her room after returning from his place, refusing to eat dinner or open the door. This morning, her eyes were swollen; she must have been secretly crying all night.

And this man actually dared to come looking for me this morning.

The atmosphere was a bit strange; I should have known better than to come.

Song Qi saw Su Ping getting into the car from outside and reluctantly turned his leg to the side.

Has this little pervert suddenly had a change of heart?

Su Ping was a little flattered. As she passed by Xu Yichen, she greeted him, "Good morning, Yichen-ge and Yifei-jie."

Song Yifei was clearly lost in thought. Hearing the sound, she turned her gaze from the window, nodded, and gave a somewhat forced smile.

"Senior, why didn't you say good morning to me?"

After Su Ping sat down, Song Qi turned his head and rested his elbow on Su Ping's chair, as if asking a question casually.

That little pervert is so unpredictable; who knows if he's joking or not.

Su Ping smiled at him and, as if it were a routine matter, took out a cooked corn from her bag and gave it to him.

"Good morning, Xiao Song. Today's breakfast is sweet corn."

Song Qi's gaze shifted downwards, landing on her fingers holding the corn. Under the sunlight, her slender and delicate fingers looked like white scallions, making them look very appetizing.

He just watched for a while without making a move.

As the car started, their shoulders bumped against each other from time to time, yet they didn't feel hot at all.

Su Ping opened the transparent bag, and the aroma of corn wafted out, along with bursts of steam.

"Try a bite, I'm not kidding, it's really sweet."

Su Ping held the corn up to Song Qi's face, mentally counting down three, two, one. Haha, the clown is herself again.

Song Qi's eyelashes trembled, and as if possessed, he opened his mouth and took a bite.

? ? ?

Su Ping was startled and almost lost her grip on the corn. Fortunately, Song Qi grabbed her hand in time to prevent it from falling.
