Seeing that she was no longer staring at her with a silly grin, Su Ping suppressed the strange feeling in her heart and asked again, "I said I don't know my sister's name yet."
Tu Ling waved his hand, accepted the friend request, and sent his name.
Hearing the "ding-dong" sound, Su Ping looked down at her phone screen.
Slaughtering spirits?
Also surnamed Tu?
She blinked in disbelief, glanced at Tu Ling, and then at her phone screen.
She remembered that the surname Tu wasn't common, so what a coincidence...
Because she sent her name when adding him as a friend, Tu Ling immediately saved her as Pingping. Seeing her lost in thought, he couldn't help but ask, "Pingping, what's wrong?"
Su Ping shook her head and muttered to herself, "It's nothing, I just suddenly feel it's such a coincidence."
There are so many people in the world; maybe I'm just overthinking it.
However, Tu Ling clearly misunderstood her meaning. After hearing what she said, he smiled, patted her head, and said, "I also think it's quite a coincidence. It feels like we hit it off immediately."
Hearing her say that, Su Ping didn't explain. She unbuckled her seatbelt, waved to her, opened the car door, and got out.
"Then I'll head back now. Sister Tu Ling, please be careful on your way back."
Tu Ling felt he should still try, so he quickly poked his head out and called out to her.
"Pingping, my birthday is in a few days. Do you have time?"
Su Ping stopped and said somewhat embarrassedly, "But I don't know if I'll have time for the next two days..."
Don't have time for the next two days?
Tu Ling rolled her eyes and said with a smile, "It's okay, there are still four or five days left. It's settled then. I'll send you a message later."
After saying that, as if afraid she would refuse, Tu Ling got back into the car, fastened her seatbelt, started the car, and drove away quickly.
After driving several kilometers away, she finally tapped her phone screen and dialed a number.
The call was answered after a long pause, and an impatient male voice came through: "What is it?"
Tu Ling choked for a moment, then replied irritably, "You brat, how can you talk to your own sister like that?"
"I'm hanging up now, that's all."
Tu Hengchuan was extremely annoyed and couldn't concentrate on reading a single word of the script in his hand. Su Ping's face kept popping into his mind.
It must be because her earring is still in his hands.
So impatient?
Tu Ling sensed something was wrong and asked with a hint of schadenfreude, "What's going on? Who offended you?"
This was the first time in all these years that she had heard her younger brother so openly express his true emotions.
Tu Hengchuan pinched the bridge of his nose, not intending to say more, but simply composed himself and said, "It's nothing, I just got too absorbed in the script just now."
Is that really the case?
Tu Ling was somewhat suspicious, but his tone had indeed returned to normal. Thinking of her true purpose, she cleared her throat and spoke.
"Ogawa River~"
That commotion...
Tu Hengchuan held the phone away a little with disdain: "Speak properly. Aren't you and your boyfriend having a sweet time together? Why are you calling me?"
"It's nothing, it's just that my birthday is coming up soon, and I wanted to ask if you have some time."
Birthday?
Tu Hengchuan raised an eyebrow, then suddenly sneered, "If I remember correctly, didn't you just have your birthday last month?"
"What, do you think that because there are twelve months in a year, you plan to celebrate twelve birthdays in total?"
What kind of talk is this...?
Tu Ling felt her face getting hot. Was it her birthday last month? She couldn't quite remember.
But how could that brat remember his own birthday?
"You're nagging. I'll celebrate as many birthdays as I want."
As Tu Ling finished speaking, she suddenly remembered that she still had something on him, and chuckled, threateningly saying, "Even a big star wouldn't want photos of himself wearing dresses as a child to be posted online by reporters, right?"
Upon hearing her mention the photos, a look of disbelief flashed across Tu Hengchuan's face.
"Impossible. I personally deleted them from your phone last year. Where did you get the photos?"
Innocent.
Just then, the traffic light turned red, so Tu Ling stopped the car, opened her private photo album, and sent the saved photos.
Is it possible that I backed up the photos beforehand?
Upon hearing the notification tone, Tu Hengchuan had a bad feeling. Sure enough, when he opened it, what he saw was a picture of himself as a child, forced to wear a dress and smiling and making a peace sign in front of the camera.
She actually made a backup!
Hearing that he had stopped speaking, Tu Ling laughed with satisfaction.
"Then it's settled for now. Anyway, you'll be joining the crew for another week, right? It's a good opportunity for us siblings to get together, otherwise we don't know if we'll have another chance to see each other before the Lunar New Year."
In a sense, in Tu Hengchuan's heart, his sister was indeed the only family member left.
As for that home, the man brought in a new mistress and illegitimate child less than a year after his mother died, so it no longer felt like a home to him.
The warm home he remembered no longer existed after his mother's car accident.
He simply hummed in agreement and hung up the phone.
Some unpleasant memories resurfaced, and he instinctively reached for his earlobe, but it was empty; there was nothing there.
He had forgotten that the woman had taken the earring.
Tu Hengchuan's face instantly turned cold. He casually placed his phone on the table, got up, and went into the bedroom.
A short while later, they found a box with a combination lock in the drawer.
After entering the anniversary of the mother's death, the contents were a necklace with a blue diamond on it.
