Shen Silan felt Shen Jiayu's gaze fall on her and immediately had a bad feeling.
So he quickly ran over and tried to take Su Ping's hand: "Let's go finish our homework."
Su Ping hadn't forgotten that his hand had just been pinching an earthworm, so she immediately grabbed his wrist with a hint of disgust and patted his hand on Lele's head.
This action stunned both the person and the dog, who looked at her in bewilderment.
Su Ping said without batting an eye, "Si Lan, say goodbye to Lele."
Shen Silan could feel her uncle's gaze on her becoming more and more obvious. Hearing this, she patted Lele's head somewhat perfunctorily.
Only after seeing that he had wiped everything off his hands did Su Ping allow him to touch her.
Holding Su Ping's hand with one hand, Shen Silan was about to reach for Xiao Mei's hand with the other when she was evaded.
Xiao Mei was clearly still a little angry. After snorting, she walked around to Su Ping's left and gently took her hand.
Upon seeing this, a look of sadness flashed across Shen Silan's face.
But the next second, her small hand was grasped by another large hand.
He turned his head in disbelief and almost flung his hand away in fright.
His usually stern uncle actually came over and took his hand!
Su Ping didn't think much of it; after all, they had that kind of relationship, so it was normal for them to be a little close.
Uncle Wu watched the two of them walk away, holding Shen Silan's hands, and felt a pang of sadness.
In that one glance, he actually sensed a kind of fated bond between the two of them.
Since Miss Gu Lan passed away, no other girl has appeared by Mr. Gu's side. He once thought that Mr. Gu would never let another girl walk by his side again.
It wasn't until he saw Miss Su now that he realized that sometimes time can make you forget things. What God takes away from you means that new people and new things will appear to replace her.
As for the gentleman, perhaps Miss Su is that person.
That light that saved Mr. Ji after he lost Gu Lan.
Su Ping followed them over there and saw several notebooks on the table.
It seems she really did come to help complete the task assigned by the teacher?
Shen Jiayu, who had just released Su Ping's hand, ran over, picked up his sketchbook, and looked at Su Ping, saying, "The teacher's assignment was very simple; we just needed to draw a family portrait. But my uncle always thinks I didn't draw it well and makes me redraw it."
Su Ping paused for a moment upon hearing this, and glanced at Shen Jiayu beside her with some disapproval.
How well can a child draw? Good enough is fine. Do you expect them to draw something incredibly realistic?
Before she could even see what was in the painting, Shen Silan pointed to a long stone bench not far behind the two of them and said, "Uncle, why don't you and Aunt sit there?"
When Su Ping heard him call her "aunt," she instinctively wanted to retort, but Shen Silan clearly guessed what she wanted to say and interrupted her.
"There's no other way, the teacher has to draw a family photo. Sister, you'll have to put up with it and be my aunt for a bit."
At this point, he glanced at Shen Jiayu, whose lips were slightly upturned, and said, "You don't know, my uncle is only concerned with making money, he doesn't even have a girlfriend..."
At this point, Shen Jiayu's smile vanished, and his gaze turned into daggers as he shot towards him.
"If you don't speak, no one will think you're mute."
Seeing that she had the upper hand, Shen Silan obediently shut her mouth.
Shen Silan's words were not without reason. At least she had visited the Shen family several times and had not seen any maids or similar staff members, apart from Uncle Wu, the old housekeeper.
But sitting there with Shen Jiayu, I always felt something was off.
Just like when grandparents' generation took black and white photos, they would be arranged to sit together and smile at the camera.
Xiao Mei had finished her painting and was sitting on the other side, feeling a little bored. She looked at Su Ping and then at Shen Jiayu, finding them both displeasing.
"Come sit over here, or you'll start making a fuss again."
Shen Jiayu walked over to the stool and sat down first, then spoke to Su Ping.
Since he didn't say anything, Su Ping nodded, thinking that she should finish as soon as possible and go back, and went over to sit down.
A gust of wind blew by, lifting her skirt, which fluttered slightly and overlapped with the cuffs of his black suit trousers.
Shen Jiayu's eyes darkened as he silently watched the white skirt.
Shen Silan picked up the pen, frowned as she looked at the two people sitting there, and something just didn't seem right.
"No, you're not sitting like that!"
Shen Silan shook her head, put the paper and pen on the table, and walked towards the two of them.
"You're a family, why are you sitting so far away?"
As Shen Silan spoke, she pushed Su Ping toward Shen Jiayu.
Su Ping almost lost her balance and fell into Shen Jiayu's arms, but he reached out and caught her.
What do kids these days eat to grow up with such incredible strength?
Looking at the two people sitting side by side, Shen Silan nodded, told them to stay in that position, and then turned back to continue drawing.
Su Ping sat there, wondering if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Shen Jiayu's gaze kept falling on her from time to time.
Feeling the person next to him slowly begin to tremble, Shen Jiayu paused for a moment and turned his head to look over.
Over there, Su Ping looked rather unwell, so much so that she didn't even realize her body was trembling.
Are you feeling unwell?
Upon hearing his voice, Su Ping instinctively wanted to shake her head, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw that her hands, which were resting on her knees, were trembling violently.
What's wrong? Why is she shaking?
Su Ping quickly pressed her hand down and shook her head, saying, "It's nothing."
After taking a few deep breaths, Su Ping realized that she couldn't control her body from trembling, as if she was shaking in some kind of situation.
Why? Is it because of fear?
Are you afraid of Shen Jiayu?
Fortunately, Shen Silan finished the painting quickly and was happily inviting the two of them over to see it.
They seemed quite satisfied with his painting.
Su Ping tried to stand up, but found that her legs were weak and lacked strength.
Shen Jiayu, who was beside her, quickly caught her.
The amazing thing is that the moment he caught himself, his body seemed to function normally again and returned to normal.
Su Ping suppressed the strange feeling in her heart, said thank you, and walked over there with him.
Shen Jiayu's gaze remained fixed on her. He had sensed something was off about her from the very beginning, but she wouldn't say anything.
Over there, Shen Silan proudly unfolded the painting in her hand for the two of them to see, pointing to the three people on it and saying, "How about it? This is my painting of my uncle and us."
How good can a painting that's finished in less than three minutes be?
