Chapter 464 Brothers Meet

Su Ping was woken up by the cold; despite the temperature being 30 degrees Celsius, her hands and feet were ice-cold.

The chill that spread from her limbs to her bones made her shiver involuntarily.

I checked the time and it was already past 2 p.m.

Did she really sleep for that long?

I don't know if I'm overthinking it, but I felt weak and listless when I went downstairs, and I almost lost my balance and fell down the stairs.

Aunt Mei and Uncle Feng happened to come back from outside and were taken aback when they saw her wearing a coat on such a hot day.

After a long while, Aunt Mei finally spoke and asked, "Miss, are you cold?"

Despite wearing a coat, she still felt a bit cold.

Suddenly, Su Ping had a guess in her mind. To confirm it, she walked to Aunt Mei's side and held her hand.

Aunt Mei was taken aback by her actions and asked, somewhat puzzled, "Aunt Mei, are my hands very cold right now?"

The next second, Aunt Mei shook her head and said, "No, your body temperature is about the same as mine. Are you feeling unwell, Miss?"

Su Ping's face turned pale, and she stumbled and almost fell to the ground.

If there is nothing wrong with her body, why would she feel a bone-chilling cold?

That might not be a physical reason, but something else...

Suddenly, the dream she had that night resurfaced in her mind. At first, she thought it was absurd, but after experiencing those strange things, her premonition grew increasingly uneasy.

"Miss, what's wrong?"

Seeing that she didn't look well, Aunt Mei asked with some concern.

Since the young lady woke up, she has indeed been different from before. You could say she is a completely different person. But sometimes she has a feeling that it is not real, as if she is dreaming.

Su Ping regained her composure and, in order not to worry Aunt Mei, forced a smile: "I'm fine, Aunt Mei. You've just been discharged from the hospital, so you should rest well today. I'm going to a friend's birthday party tonight, so I won't be back for dinner."

After getting into the car, Su Ping's hands trembled uncontrollably.

She had a vague premonition that if she didn't find the reason, she might really disappear.

But now it's like the plot of a novel has gotten stuck; even though she knows something's wrong, she doesn't know what to do.

Novel plot...

The next second, a sudden pain shot through her head, so intense that she almost fainted. Finally, a ringing phone pulled her back to reality.

Su Ping felt her vision gradually clearing up, and the moment she saw the caller ID, she felt the warmth of her fingers returning a little.

As soon as the call connected, Tu Ling's voice came through: "Pingping?"

Su Ping found her voice: "Sister Tu Ling, what's wrong?"

Hearing her voice, Tu Ling breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I noticed you hadn't replied to my messages, so I called to ask if you had time to come over today? If you have anything to do..."

Su Ping switched to the other page and saw that there were indeed several unread messages on WeChat.

Strangely, the phone didn't ring. Looking at the top, I realized that I had unknowingly turned on Do Not Disturb.

Not hearing her reply, Tu Ling asked again, "Pingping, can you hear me?"

Su Ping suppressed her thoughts, forced a smile, and said, "I'm listening. I promised you, I'll come."

After exchanging a few more words, the two hung up the phone.

With two or three hours left before the agreed time, Su Ping suddenly remembered that man.

He hasn't paid for the necklace yet.

She didn't like owing things to strangers, so with that in mind, she started her car and decided to go to the jewelry store first to pay them.

The Lu family's old residence.

Lu Zhiyan looked at the man sitting next to Madam Lu who looked exactly like her, and she couldn't stand the sight of him.

It's like suddenly having someone who looks exactly like you competing for something that originally belonged to you—that sense of crisis.

"Ayan, take Zhiyan to familiarize herself with the company."

When it was time to chant the sutras, Madam Lu waved her hand and looked at the man beside her with a smile.

Although she was smiling, the smile didn't reach her eyes.

Lu Zhiyan's eyes flickered slightly. They were both sons, but you could tell from the way they addressed each other which was closer to him.

But deep down, I still think positively. After all, my mother took me out of that place, which means she acknowledges me as her son, right?

Thinking of this, he felt a little better and looked at his older brother who looked exactly like him.

Upon hearing this, Lu Zhiyan smiled as well, straightened his sleeves, and stood up: "Alright, from now on, we brothers will manage the company together."

That's what he said, but only he himself knows how much of it was genuine.

Lu Zhiyan nodded, mimicking his expression by tugging at the corners of his mouth and forcing a smile.

But he has forgotten how to smile since he was a child, so his forced smile looks stiff and ridiculous, and it would be better if he didn't smile at all.

Lu Zhiyan concealed the look of disgust in her eyes and walked ahead.

Seeing this, Lu Zhiyan stopped smiling and obediently followed behind him.

Driver Lao Zhang was already waiting outside; this was the first time he had seen the young master who had just returned to the Lu family.

As I got out of the car, I saw the young master walking in front of me give me a look.

He immediately understood and opened the back door: "Young master, please have a seat."

Lu Zhiyan's smile widened as she sat down.

Seeing this, Lu Zhiyan, who was behind him, was about to get in with him when the driver suddenly closed the car door.
