After hearing Director Jia's words, Ren Su's face turned slightly red, unsure whether it was from embarrassment at having acted on her own initiative or from being angry at being pushed away by Tu Hengchuan.
After speaking about Ren Su, Director Jia looked at Tu Hengchuan with the same serious expression.
"Hengchuan, what were you thinking when we were rehearsing the scene? I don't care if you were out of character or what, how are you going to get the audience's opinion of you if you act like this? You're actors, and if you're going to do this job, you have to be worthy of the audience's trust!"
These words caused the people present to lower their heads in silence, and no one dared to breathe too loudly.
I had long heard that Director Jia was known for his ruthless approach to filmmaking, and now that I see it, it's true.
Tu Hengchuan didn't say a word, but stared intently at Ren Su, as if trying to see something.
Perhaps sensing the somewhat oppressive atmosphere, Director Jia sighed and waved his hand, telling everyone to take ten minutes to adjust their mindset.
Under his gaze, Ren Su felt increasingly guilty, but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel excited.
Before she could speak, Tu Hengchuan had already grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the bath, walking quickly toward the rest area on the other side.
He dismissed the makeup artist who wanted to come up and touch up their makeup, then grabbed Ren Su's shoulder and forced her into a chair.
Ren Su watched as Tu Hengchuan, who had surrounded her in the middle of the chair and was getting closer and closer, and her heart began to pound wildly.
Is he going to kiss himself here?
Thinking about this, she felt a faint sense of anticipation.
If she had known that this body fragrance was so effective, she would have soaked herself in the hotel and thrown herself into Song Qi's arms that day.
As she was lost in her daydreams, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her neck.
She soon found herself breathless and was forced to look at Tu Hengchuan in front of her.
His eyes looked a little intimidating as he stared intently at her.
"Chuan... Brother Chuan, what are you doing..."
Ren Su didn't expect him to suddenly go crazy, so she could only desperately slap the hand that was choking her neck.
Tu Hengchuan couldn't hear anything anymore; the closer he got, the stronger the scent of gardenias became.
It smelled somewhat like Pingping, but it gave him a completely different feeling, and he even subconsciously wanted to destroy it.
"Tell me, what did you put on your body?!"
Tu Hengchuan's eyes were bloodshot, and his expression was gloomy, as if he wanted to strangle her to death.
Ren Su felt her brain was becoming increasingly oxygen-deprived, and even her vision was becoming increasingly blurry.
The last time I felt like I was on the verge of death was that night at the Shen family home, when I was facing that lunatic Shen Jiayu!
That day, he was perfectly fine one second, but the next second he suddenly had a seizure and grabbed her by the neck.
So, are two of the three male protagonists in this novel's world mentally ill?
Feeling her struggles weakening, Tu Hengchuan suddenly came to his senses, loosened his grip slightly, but did not completely release her neck.
He could clearly feel the pulse in her neck artery throbbing in his palm, as if the life in his hand would fragilely perish with just a slight exertion.
Finally able to breathe normally, Ren Su greedily opened her mouth wide to breathe, but her body still trembled uncontrollably.
His teeth were chattering: "I don't know what you're talking about, I didn't put anything on..."
Before he could finish speaking, Tu Hengchuan tightened his grip little by little.
"You won't tell the truth, huh? Let's see if your mouth is tougher or your neck is tougher."
He really wanted to strangle himself!
Ren Su struggled desperately, finally managing to squeeze out two words: "I...I'll talk!"
Tu Hengchuan gave a soft snort and released her.
He didn't smell this scent on her at first; it was only at a certain moment that the fragrance of gardenias suddenly appeared.
It seemed as if it was prepared specifically for him with some kind of premeditation.
Ren Su lay back in the chair, touching her neck with lingering fear, realizing she was still alive.
Tu Hengchuan, however, stared at her with a cold expression, as if waiting for her answer.
Having no other choice, she had to make up an excuse on the spot.
"Brother Chuan, I did this because I like you."
After saying this, Tu Hengchuan's expression remained unchanged, but his gaze towards her held a strange emotion.
Seeing that he did not refute her, Ren Su immediately felt more confident and continued, "I bought this perfume a while ago. It is said that if you use it, the man you like will fall in love with you, so I secretly used it."
As if to prove her point, she pointed to the bag on her vanity and said, "If Brother Chuan doesn't believe me, you can open that bag over there and see. The perfume is still inside."
Her words sounded flawless, and Tu Hengchuan snorted softly, narrowing his eyes: "Is that so?"
After saying that, he actually walked over there.
Ignoring her still-painful neck, Ren Su hurriedly whispered to the system, "System, quickly put a bottle of perfume in that bag for me, or I'll really be in trouble!"
"..."
The system remained silent and did not answer her question.
Suddenly, Ren Su had a bad feeling.
Just then, Tu Hengchuan opened the bag and, sure enough, saw a bottle of unknown perfume inside.
It had some strange patterns printed on it. He unscrewed the cap and sprayed some into the air. Sure enough, it was the scent that Ren Su had just been wearing.
Ren Su finally breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the system had helped her a lot at the crucial moment, otherwise she wouldn't know how to face Tu Hengchuan.
Tu Hengchuan stuffed the perfume bottle back into his bag, waved away the unpleasant scent in front of him, and walked towards Ren Su.
