Chapter 69 You have to be there in person to know if it misses you.

"Uncle Wu isn't here today, so Ayu asked me to pick you up."

Shen Silan's eyes lit up upon hearing this: "Then does that mean I don't have to go back tonight?"

Su Ping nodded, and then saw the little guy clapping his little hands, looking very happy.

Xiao Mei was incredibly envious; she also wanted to sleep at the pretty older sister's house.

"Sweetie, Mommy's here to pick you up!"

Suddenly a female voice came from the doorway, giving off a very cute feeling.

Su Ping turned her head and saw a woman wearing a short skirt that went past her knees waving in their direction.

With her bangs and short hair, and wearing a light blue JK uniform, she looks every bit the Japanese pretty girl.

He looks younger than her.

"Mommy, you look beautiful again today!"

Xiao Mei's eyes lit up when she saw the woman, and her sweet words were incredibly charming.

The woman smiled and walked over, pinched Xiaomei's cheek, and then nodded to Su Ping in greeting.

Su Ping remembered that she hadn't given the cake to Xiao Mei yet, so she quickly opened the bag, took out the small cakes inside, and handed them to Xiao Mei.

"Wow!"

Xiao Mei held the cake in her hands, and if it weren't for her mother being right next to her, she would have jumped up and kissed her.

"Sweetie, hurry up and thank your sister."

"Thank you, beautiful lady!"

The woman smiled at Su Ping and said, "We'll be going now, bye-bye."

Su Ping waved to the two of them, feeling a little curious about what kind of marriage could allow a woman to retain that childlike innocence in her heart.

Shen Silan tugged at her skirt: "Don't look, my uncle doesn't like that kind of thing."

Seeing him awkwardly comforting himself, Su Ping patted his hair.

But he dodged away with a look of disgust: "Don't touch my head, or you'll stunt your growth!"

"Okay, okay, let's have a small cake later to calm down." Su Ping smiled, withdrew her hand, and led him out of the classroom.

Under the sun, the two people walking out of the school gate looked strangely harmonious.

Inside the car parked by the roadside behind me, the window quietly rolled down, and a few flashes of light appeared and disappeared in an instant.

After Su Ping's car left, the other car quickly started and drove off in another direction.

When Aunt Mei saw Su Ping leading in a cute little boy, she was overjoyed. After getting his permission, she picked him up and couldn't bear to let go.

Looking at Shen Silan's happy yet awkward expression in Aunt Mei's arms, she was quite adorable.

She just happened to not know how to deal with bratty kids, so now she doesn't have to worry about it anymore.

Her phone chimed; it was a message from Tu Hengchuan.

He said he'd come pick her up tomorrow afternoon, and he'd have to prepare to start filming after returning from the old house.

Su Ping replied with an "ok" emoji.

[Host, Song Yifei and Xu Yichen had a fight.]

Su Ping rolled her eyes while lying on the bed.

What caused this argument this time?

[Song Yifei got the job as Tu Hengchuan's assistant, but this morning she was tricked and made a mistake in the Weibo promotional text, which led to her being scolded by Tu Hengchuan's agent.]

[When Xu Yichen went to see her at noon, he noticed her eyes were red and swollen, so he asked her what happened. After learning what had happened, he advised her to quit her job and work at her family's company. Song Yifei felt that Xu Yichen was insulting her with money, while Xu Yichen felt that her feelings for Tu Hengchuan were not those of a fan for an idol. The two parted on bad terms.]

Su Ping was dumbfounded. How could this lead to an argument?

But her female lead was framed? She couldn't stand it, she had to find some time to visit the set of Tu Hengchuan.

When Su Ping woke up from her nap, it was already a bit dark outside. She noticed a missed call on her phone from an unknown number.

She tried calling, and the other party hung up immediately after it rang for three seconds.

"Maybe it was a wrong number," Su Ping thought, putting her phone in her pocket and ignoring it. She decided to go downstairs to check on that little brat, Shen Silan.

Before I even got downstairs, I could hear Aunt Mei praising me coming from the kitchen.

"Our young master is really amazing!"

What's so amazing?

Su Ping walked over there and found a basin next to the table, the vegetables inside of which had been picked horribly by Shen Silan.

Under Aunt Mei's constant praise, Shen Silan became visibly elated and picked even more enthusiastically.

"Miss, what brings you here?"

Aunt Mei was surprised when she heard footsteps and saw Su Ping. Previously, Miss Su always refused to go near the kitchen because she complained about the strong smell of cooking oil.

"If I hadn't come, there wouldn't be any vegetables to eat tonight."

Su Ping took the basin off the ground and saw Shen Silan's accusing expression, as if she was about to cry.

Cry, cry, she loves seeing children cry.

Su Ping gave a wicked smile, clearly not buying his act.

Seeing that she wasn't fooled, Shen Silan pouted and ran to Aunt Mei for comfort.

"You bad woman, all you do is bully me! I'm going to tell my uncle!"

As if on cue, Su Ping's phone rang the next second.

After the call connected, Shen Jiayu's voice came through the video.

"Have you received Silan?"

It must have been early morning over there. Shen Jiayu was still lying in bed, wearing a black nightgown with the collar slightly open, revealing the faint outline of his body underneath.

Why does this person always wear glasses while sleeping?

That's too pretentious.

Su Ping flipped the camera over, and Shen Silan, who was nestled in Aunt Mei's arms, appeared in the camera's view.

"I received the call. He acted like he was at home, so you don't need to worry about him."

Shen Jiayu chuckled lightly; he knew what kind of person that kid was.

"I'm sorry to have troubled you. I'll have Uncle Wu come and pick him up first thing tomorrow morning."

Looking at his expressionless face, Su Ping suddenly felt like teasing him.

Do you miss me?

Hearing her say that, Shen Jiayu straightened his posture, his expression becoming somewhat strange: "I think it's better to tell you this in person next time."

Why in person?

Su Ping subconsciously asked a question, and then heard Shen Jiayu lean closer to the screen and lower his voice: "Because for this kind of thing, you have to be there in person to know if it misses you."

Holy crap, this old man is so slutty!

Noticing Aunt Mei's gaze, Su Ping's face turned bright red, and she immediately hung up the phone.

After dinner, Aunt Mei took Shen Silan to the bathroom to take a shower.

Su Ping lay in bed, sent goodnight texts to the two of them as usual, and then turned off the lights and went to sleep.

On the other side, the clock on the wall had already struck twelve, but the light was still on through the crack in the door.

Looking at that familiar profile picture, Song Qi felt a mix of emotions.

He already knew her phone number by heart, and on impulse, he used another SIM card to call her to find out what she was doing.

But he regretted it before the call even connected and quickly hung up.

When he saw her call back in the afternoon, his heart skipped a beat, and in his haste, he hung up. His phone never rang again after that.

He was the one who pushed her away, so why did he feel such excruciating pain, like a hundred ants gnawing at his heart, after only one day?

He misses her so much.
