After finishing the routine meeting and checking on the patients, Gu Yi'an went to Nangong Jin's ward.
"Grandpa!"
The babyish, innocent voice could melt anyone's heart.
Looking at her grandson, Gu Yi'an smiled, "Rui Rui!"
"Grandpa, are you here to see Dad too? Thank you!"
Gu Yi'an nodded.
Nangong Jin looked at Gu Yi'an and smiled; he was also quite moved.
"Thank you for coming to see me, Uncle An."
"I heard about what happened last night. Thank goodness you were there last night." As he spoke, Gu Yi'an glanced at his daughter.
He also watched the videos online.
I also heard it from my colleagues.
Since Nangong Jin saved Changge, he would be grateful to him.
He can distinguish between one thing and another.
Nangong Jin looked at Gu Yi'an and said seriously, "It's what I should do. I won't let anything happen to Changge."
"You should take good care of yourself."
Nangong Jin nodded.
Su Rui: "I'll be fine here. You guys go to work. Chang Ge should rest too."
Gu Changge nodded and said, "I'll come over later."
...
Before leaving the hospital, Gu Changge received psychological counseling.
After getting home, she took a shower and prepared to take a nap.
As soon as she closed her eyes, she thought of Nangong Jin protecting her without regard for his own safety.
When she saw him fighting with the suspect wielding a knife, she was worried about him for a moment.
Seeing that he had been slashed several times, she felt sorry for him, and her heart ached inexplicably.
She was very worried about his safety and afraid that something might happen to him.
Originally, she was very scared.
Hiding behind the nurses' triage desk, she was trembling all over, thinking she couldn't escape.
She thought of her son, and inexplicably, she also thought of Nangong Jin.
She even wondered if last night might have been their last.
When she saw Nangong Jin, she felt inexplicably at ease and no longer afraid.
With him there, she saw a glimmer of hope.
He held her, protected her, and shielded her from the knife. She was truly moved at that moment.
Undeniably, she was preoccupied with thoughts of him at the time, fearing that he would leave her because of it.
She wouldn't be happy if something happened to him.
...
After thinking about many things, Gu Changge still couldn't fall asleep.
Nangong Jin's handsome face still lingered in her mind.
He was the man she had loved for many years, the man she loved with all her dignity. Unexpectedly, even after several years, she still remembered him.
Those memories seem to have seeped into my very bones.
She hated him, but she used to love him even more.
She had been in despair, but last night, he gave her hope.
...
Unconsciously, tears welled up in Gu Changge's eyes and slowly slid down her cheeks.
But she dared not love anymore; she was afraid.
Some wounds, even after they have healed, still hurt when touched.
So, she's still quite conflicted from last night until now.
She also felt something she couldn't quite put into words.
******
In the afternoon, Gu Changge made soup and stir-fried a few dishes.
She then packed the food in an insulated box and took it to the hospital.
Seeing Gu Changge arrive, Su Rui felt sorry for her.
“You should rest at home. We can just order takeout. I was worried you would get tired if you cooked and delivered the food yourself.”
"Auntie, I've rested well and I'm fine now. I talked to a psychologist, and my mood is much better."
As she spoke, Gu Changge took out the soup and vegetables, and also served rice.
Looking at the soup and dishes Gu Changge had prepared, Su Rui smiled and said, "They must be delicious."
"Auntie, you flatter me. I just cooked whatever was convenient."
Rui Rui: "Mom's cooking is delicious. Thank you for your hard work, Mom. I'm sending you my heart."
After making a heart shape with her hands, Rui Rui also blew a few kisses to her mother.
Gu Changge smiled gently and kissed her son.
...
The son sat next to Nangong Jin, and they were sitting at the dining table by the hospital bed.
Rui Rui ate by herself first, she was very well-behaved.
Nangong Jin wanted to eat by himself, but when he used too much force, his hand hurt and he frowned.
Seeing this, Gu Changge took the spoon and fed him.
Nangong Jin looked at Gu Changge, then her gaze shifted to the rice and dishes she was about to eat.
A few seconds later, he ate it.
Changge's stir-fries are all delicious.
He felt warm inside and very happy.
Su Rui sat on the sofa, deliberately avoiding looking at her son and Gu Changge.
She smiled, feeling quite gratified.
Actually, the son and Changge are a good match.
Putting everything else aside, if they both have feelings for each other, are willing to build their future together, cherish each other, and be happy every day, she fully supports them being together.
Perhaps, it is only through experience that we learn to cherish and realize the value of those around us.
...
After Nangong Jin finished eating, Gu Changge even took a tissue and wiped the grease from his mouth.
Nangong Jin looked at Gu Changge with deep affection and smiled.
This was a joy that came from the bottom of his heart, and it was the happiness he truly felt.
He was too stupid and blind before, but now he knows who treats him the best.
He must win Changge back, otherwise he will regret it for the rest of his life.
He will not let any of this become a regret in his life.
...
After receiving Su Rui's message, Nangong Hao decided not to order takeout.
He called Gu Yi'an and asked him to have a meal at a small shop near the hospital.
Nangong Hao parked his car at the hospital and then waited for Gu Yi'an at the hospital entrance.
After a while, he actually saw Zhou Hui.
Immediately, Nangong Hao stopped Zhou Hui.
"You are not welcome. Please leave."
Although a little annoyed, Zhou Hui still behaved politely and replied, "Uncle, hello! I'm here to visit Ajin. I know he's injured, and I'm quite worried about him."
