"Big sister, I've finished eating." Lin Chuan said, handing the piece of fatty meat in his hand to Lin Yan's mother-in-law. "Auntie, it's Mid-Autumn Festival today, so I'm adding some oil to your meal."
"Da Chuan, this is unacceptable, it's far too expensive." Lin Yan's mother-in-law didn't dare to accept it.
Lin Chuan placed the meat on the kitchen shelf. "Auntie, actually, besides the holiday, I'd like to ask you for a favor. I'd like to borrow your donkey for a while. I'll pay the donkey two yuan a day for its work, how about that?"
Lin Yan and the others were amused by Lin Chuan's words.
Lin Yan's mother-in-law said, "They're all family members, you can use them if you want, why pay them wages?"
"We still have to pay the donkey, after all, it did work." Lin Chuan said, putting ten yuan on the windowsill. "Auntie, I'll book five days' worth first, here's the money."
Lin Yan quickly called out, "Shaowen, go and feed the donkey."
"Da Chuan, I'll bring the donkey over to you once it's fed."
"Okay, Auntie, Eldest Sister, I'll head back now."
After Lin Chuan got home, he took a nap. When he woke up, he started packing his things.
"Mother, Chunmai, this meat is for the family to eat, and there are mooncakes too. Remember to eat them all. It's a festival today, so don't wait for me to come back. You can eat first tonight."
Lin Chuan took a detour and went to Yuquan Village first.
The donkey cart stopped in front of Lin Qingyou's house, and he jumped off the cart.
Neighbor Pan Guixi came out of the yard. "Dachuan's back? Is he back for the holiday?"
Lin Chuan walked into the courtyard. "No, I still have things to do. I just came back to deliver some things."
Pan Guixi saw Lin Chuan carrying a chicken, half a spare rib, two pieces of pork belly, and what looked like a lot of mooncakes wrapped in oil paper.
Is this what you call sending a "little" thing?
