Chapter 7 There's meat to eat every day

Lin Chuan had already calculated it in his mind.

Two hundred and sixty-eight bowls of noodles cost one yuan each, and one hundred and fifty-two bowls cost eight mao each. Vegetarian noodles sold the most, totaling four hundred and eighty-eight bowls. So Feng Liang didn't say a single penny was wrong.

Lin Chuan took the thick wad of change, then counted out ten yuan and put it on the table.

"Brother Liang, it's a promise, the noodles my family ate were bought by me, one thing at a time." Lin Chuan didn't even count the remaining money, he just put it into his inner pocket. "Brother Liang, I've been out for too long, I'm going back now."

Looking at the ten yuan on the table, Feng Liang felt from the bottom of his heart that Lin Chuan was a really good person, with good skills and good character.

"Da Chuan, are you coming again tomorrow?" Feng Liang asked hurriedly.

Lin Chuan touched the money in his pocket. He was really tired from working so hard, but he felt happy and at ease to have earned so much money at this time.

"Brother Liang, I don't know about tomorrow yet. I need to go back and check on my wife first."

Feng Liang thought for a moment, still unsure whether his wife would come tomorrow.

If his wife knew how much commission he gave Lin Chuan, she would definitely want to fight him.

His wife is the kind of person who doesn't care how much she earns but always feels like she's losing out, yet she never feels like she's losing out on the money she gives to her family.

Thinking about this, Feng Liang felt mentally exhausted.

"Okay, Da Chuan, if you can come tomorrow, let me know as soon as possible."

After Lin Chuan left, Feng Liang carefully put all the money away.

In all my years in business, I've never sold this many noodles in a single day.

It felt like the whole county had come to eat noodles all day today.

People from the hospital came over at noon, and factory workers came over to eat. Then, one person told another, and a lot of people came.

Lin Chuan was able to stay out for so long because Xu Chunmai's parents were at the hospital, and they were sure they could take good care of her and the children.

He rushed back, only to find Xu Chunmai and Lin Shuning already asleep in the same bed.

His mother-in-law, Qian Jinhua, is changing the baby's diaper.

Lin Chuan walked softly to the bedside, "Mother, I'm back."

Qian Jinhua looked up and said, "Dachuan, you're finally back. Xiaolong, who delivered the noodles, said you've been helping out at the noodle shop in the back. You must be exhausted from all this time."

As she spoke, she quickly finished changing the diaper and went to pour hot water for Lin Chuan.

"Thank you, Mother." Lin Chuan took the teacup and asked, "Mother, where's my father?"

Qian Jinhua said, "After dinner, we checked and everything seemed fine. Your father went home first. We told him to go back and tidy up the west room. The kang (heated brick bed) hasn't been heated these past few days, so we need to check if it's smoking or anything. Oh, by the way, the nurse came and said we're all fine and can be discharged tomorrow."

Lin Chuan drank some hot water and felt warm all over. "Okay, I'll go get discharged first thing tomorrow morning. The cart is here too, let's go back to Changling Village."

"Oh!" Qian Jinhua was overjoyed. "Let's go home, let's go home."

Many families avoid having their daughters return to their parents' home to recuperate after childbirth.

Families with sons, in particular, believe that if a daughter returns to her parents' home for postpartum confinement, it will bring bad luck to her family.

Some people say that a mother shouldn't see her daughter's blood after giving birth, otherwise it will bring bad luck.

Qian Jinhua only had one daughter, so of course she didn't care about these things.

Now that Lin Chuan has made up his mind not to go back to that home, Qian Jinhua is more than happy for them to stay at her parents' home from now on.

Of course, this was only a temporary measure for Lin Chuan.

He wants to earn more money in the future, give Xu Chunmai a better life, and take her out to see the world!

Lin Chuan poured water, went out to wash his face, and then lay down on another empty bed.

That night, the three babies in the house cried in turn.

When Lin Chuan's youngest daughter cried, Qian Jinhua and Xu Chunmai got up and busied themselves.

Lin Chuan also couldn't sleep well, and in addition, his wife and mother-in-law were really tired, so he wanted to help.

But he didn't help Lin Shuning when she was a child, so he's completely at a loss now.

Xu Chunmai felt sorry for him, "Go and get some sleep. You didn't sleep much last night. Even the strongest body can't withstand this. You have me and Mom here."

Lin Chuan couldn't get the diaper under the baby's bottom no matter how hard he tried; the baby's little legs were kicking non-stop, and he couldn't hold them down.

Xu Chunmai simply lifted the child's two legs up and placed the diaper steadily under the child's bottom.

Lin Chuan scratched his head. "I'll study more in the future."

The next morning, Lin Chuan got up early and went out to buy breakfast for everyone.

He walked to the front of Da Liang Noodle Shop, which was already open.

Lin Chuan went inside, intending to tell Feng Liang that he couldn't come today, but he happened to see three red marks next to Feng Liang's eye.

It's so obvious, it must have been a fight between the couple that resulted in the scratch.

Feng Liang was also very embarrassed, but Lin Chuan knew that it was not a good idea to ask about this.

"Brother Liang, I can't come today. My wife is being discharged from the hospital today, and we're going home in a bit."

Feng Liang really couldn't get Lin Chuan to come again today; he and his wife still had a fight.

"Okay, Da Chuan, you go ahead and do your thing. Come find me when you have time," Feng Liang said. "By the way, Da Chuan, wait for me."

As he spoke, Feng Liang went to the kitchen and cut off a large piece of meat, and also carried a chicken. "Da Chuan, take this back to nourish your sister-in-law. You promised to pay for yesterday's meal, and I'm also going to pay for today's meat. You can't refuse."

This time, Lin Chuan accepted, saying, "Thank you, Brother Liang."

Lin Chuan walked out, but after a few steps he came back.

In my past life, I witnessed too much of the coldness and indifference of human relationships.

For both men and women, there are both good and bad aspects.

Often, good men don't meet good women, and good women can't find good men.
