Xiang Jin didn't say anything.
"Say what you want, but don't attack her personally. So what if she didn't graduate from university? Her joining Yixin was a decision made by the company. Stop bringing up her education." Yun Xin happened to be passing by and spoke up for Xiang Jin.
Kelly was momentarily speechless and was about to retort when she saw that the person in question was Yun Xin, and her arrogance immediately subsided.
She walked over with a smile and affectionately took Yunxin's hand: "Darling, I'm not bringing up her academic qualifications, it's just that her abilities don't quite meet the requirements."
“Yesterday I asked her to deliver a document, and she messed up such a simple task. How can I still dare to use her? Why don’t you talk to Allen and tell him not to let her come to work tomorrow?”
Yun Xin looked at Xiang Jin.
"On her first day of work, she doesn't know anything, and you send her to deliver documents? Isn't that your problem?"
“As the team leader, you’re so careless in handling things, Kelly. If Director Chen finds out about this, do you think he’ll be angry?” Yun Xin raised an eyebrow.
Kelly was speechless again.
Her face looked rather pale, and she forced a smile, saying, "This, this..."
"Alright, let's just leave it at that. Director Chen is away on a business trip abroad, and I don't dare bother him. I hope you can be kind to Xiang Jin and give her more time to grow. Maybe she'll be a dark horse. Didn't you go through the same thing back then?"
Kelly forced a smile: "Yes, yes."
Kelly's face fell only after Yunxin had walked away.
She glared at Xiang Jin several times, unwilling to give up, before sullenly returning to her office.
At lunchtime, Xiang Jin specially bought Yun Xin a cup of Americano and placed it on her table.
As Kelly was leaving get off work, she passed by Xiang Jin's workstation.
She intentionally or unintentionally lifted her clothes, swept them across Xiang Jin's workstation, and knocked over her water glass.
The cup was made of porcelain and had no lid. It gurgled and the hot water immediately spilled all over the workstation, flowing onto Xiang Jin's legs. Xiang Jin jumped up from the workstation.
"Oh dear, your water glass spilled?"
"It has nothing to do with me. I didn't touch your cup. Don't try to frame me." Kelly smiled nonchalantly and left the office briskly.
Xiang Jin lowered her head to wipe the water, her legs feeling hot and stinging, indicating that she had been scalded.
"Serves her right, who told her to offend Kelly? Kelly is notoriously vengeful," other colleagues said sarcastically.
"Exactly, someone with only a high school diploma thinks they can just coast along? Isn't that a slap in our face?"
"I don't know whose back door they used."
"Who knows whose bed she'll end up in..."
"Are you alright?" Yunxin asked as her colleagues walked away.
"It's alright, it's alright, I can handle it myself," Xiang Jin quickly said.
“Kelly went a bit too far. I clearly saw that she was the one who bumped into her. Don’t take it personally. She’s capable and someone Mr. Xu trusts. Sometimes it’s okay to just go along with her.”
"Mr. Xu, who is that?"
“You don’t even know this? Xu Jianshen is Yixin’s largest shareholder,” Yun Xin said.
"Could it be the movie star Xu Jianshen?" Although Xiang Jin knew about Yixin, she had never looked into its shareholding structure, so she was unaware of this matter.
Yes, it's him.
Xiang Jin gasped.
He is a very popular figure in the entertainment industry.
He had just won Best Actor last year and was at the height of his fame when it turned out that Yixin was actually his business.
Back at the Lakeside Villa, Murong Xiao had not yet returned.
Xiang Jin planned to apply medicine to the injury on her leg first, and then go downstairs to eat.
"Zhou Zhou, where did my sketchbook go? The one with the corner burned off?" After a while, Xiang Jin rushed downstairs to ask.
"What picture book? I don't know."
It's over.
Xiang Jin ran back to her room with a thud.
She searched the entire master bedroom but couldn't find it; she had clearly left it on the table the night of the fire.
It would be fine if someone else took it, but if Murong Xiao found out, her secret would be exposed, and who knows how much he would ridicule her then...
Xiang Jin became increasingly anxious as he thought about it.
She searched the master bedroom again, but it wasn't there. She then searched the guest room where she was currently staying, but it still wasn't there.
"What are you looking for?" Murong Xiao suddenly appeared at the door.
Xiang Jin was so frightened that she shook her head like a rattle drum: "No, I wasn't looking for anything."
Murong Xiao frowned slightly.
"What happened to the injury on your leg?" His gaze lingered on the burn; her fair leg was swollen and red, and even with medication, it was still quite a shocking sight.
"It's nothing, I accidentally burned myself at work." Xiang Jin pulled her skirt down, trying to cover it up.
"If you can't take care of yourself, then don't go to work."
After saying those words, Murong Xiao left.
Xiang Jin rushed downstairs in one stride.
Aunt Yang and Butler Feng gave the same answer. They had never seen any picture book and had absolutely no recollection of it.
“Is it something very important, Madam? Why don’t you ask the young master? Maybe he knows,” Aunt Yang said.
"No, no, it's nothing important, I'll just let it go."
As long as it doesn't fall into Murong Xiao's hands...
May God bless you...

Xiang Jin arrived at the company twenty minutes early in the morning.
No one from Group Two was there.
There was no notification of a meeting in the group chat; perhaps something had come up that delayed them. Xiang Jin didn't think too much about it and quietly started organizing the materials in her hands.
Half an hour later, the people from Group Two came out of the meeting room.
"Xiang Jin, what do you mean? You're skipping the regular meeting, are you planning to go on strike?" Kelly walked towards Xiang Jin as soon as she left the meeting room.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know there was a meeting today, and there was no notification in the group chat."
"Who would inform you of these work details? Don't you know to ask your colleagues?"
Xiang Jin remained silent.
So far, no one in Group Two has been willing to talk to her, so why would they tell her when the regular meeting is? Kelly is clearly trying to make things difficult for her.
"As far as I know, my onboarding mentor told me all this, but she didn't say it herself. So I'm not taking the blame for this," Xiang Jin replied calmly.
Kelly immediately perked up.
She was Xiang Jin's onboarding mentor.
"What do you mean? Are you saying I deliberately didn't tell you and took the opportunity to make things difficult for you?"
"Whether it is or not, you know best."
Kelly choked.
She sneered, "Fine, not only are you slacking off at work, but your attitude is also improper. Our second group can no longer tolerate such a big shot like you!"
“I’ll go tell Allen right now.” Kelly put down the documents in her hand, put on her eight-centimeter high heels, and headed towards the HR director’s office.
"I heard your voice from far away. What do you want?" Allen came in just as he entered.
“Darling~” Kelly rushed over.
She took Allen's arm affectionately, and the two began to talk at the door.
