Chapter 77 Making Do

The Rolls-Royce drove all the way back to the Lakeside Villa.

Upon returning home, Murong Xiao locked himself in his study.

"Sigh, it's always the same. As long as he sees the master and madam, the young master's mood is never good." Butler Feng stood next to Xiang Jin, holding a pile of medicine in his hands.

"What is this?" Xiang Jin asked.

"It's for treating cold feet. Recently, for some reason, the young master's cold feet problem has flared up again, and he can't sleep all night. I asked the doctor to prescribe some medicine."

"How could it relapse? Wasn't it already cured?" She had diligently applied the ointment for half a year, so how could it have relapsed?

"It's probably because of my recent mood, so..."

Does mood affect it?

Is he in a bad mood?

Why?

"Madam, why don't you take the medicine up with you?" Butler Feng handed the medicine to her.

Xiang Jin shook her head. Provoking him at this time would be like walking into the line of fire. After concentrating for a moment, she turned and walked towards the kitchen.

“Alright, then I’ll just have to take it up. I’ve been with the young master for so many years, surely he’ll give me this much face.” Butler Feng straightened his clothes, full of confidence.

A few minutes later, he was kicked out.

Xiang Jin spent most of the day in the kitchen making a bowl of spicy beef noodles and brought it to the study.

After knocking for a while without getting a response, she had no choice but to open the door and go in herself.

"Get out." He stood by the window smoking.

Xiang Jin did not respond.

He paused for a moment, as if he had noticed something, and turned around.

Xiang Jin placed the noodles on the table, looking somewhat awkward. She gestured, "Um... Aunt Yang made these. She said you hadn't eaten dinner, and I happened to be going that way, so..."

Murong Xiao raised an eyebrow: "If you can't lie, then don't speak."

Aunt Yang knew he had a bad stomach and never made spicy beef noodles. Besides, this bowl of noodles was nothing like Aunt Yang's style. Her lie was so poorly told.

Xiang Jin was a little embarrassed: "Okay, I made it. If you're not going to eat it, I'll take it away."

Murong Xiao held her hand, picked up his chopsticks from the plate, picked up the noodles in the bowl, and slowly began to eat.

He ate with great care and attention, as if he were handling a work of art. His movements were pleasing to the eye, and Xiang Jin felt a sense of satisfaction.

"Is it delicious?" she wrote.

"It'll have to do."

Xiang Jin smiled slightly, knowing that he was picky, and that receiving just two words was already a great compliment.

"Thank you for arranging for a doctor to see me." Whatever the reason, she was sincerely grateful to him.

He still defended her in front of Madam Murong. Although the phrase "the woman I, Murong Xiao, love" wasn't referring to her, she didn't dare ask for too much. She was content with what she had.

Murong Xiao paused slightly.

So, she made this bowl of noodles because he called a doctor for her?

Instead of thinking, worry about him.

It's still the spicy beef noodles, just to Gu Feiyang's liking.

He slowly put down his chopsticks, his expression gradually turning cold.

"Why aren't you eating?" Xiang Jin asked.

Murong Xiao didn't see the note. His phone rang, and Xiang Jin glanced at it and unfortunately saw the caller's name: Fang Xinman.

He answered the call and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window with his phone in hand.

The other end seemed to be talking non-stop. After a long while, Murong Xiao replied, "I know, good boy."

After hanging up the phone, I turned around and saw Xiang Jin clearing away the dishes.

"What are you doing? I haven't finished eating yet." Murong Xiao looked at her.

Xiang Jin's expression was somewhat aloof.

"This noodle doesn't taste good, Mr. Xiao, you should have Miss Fang cook it for you." She hastily wrote this sentence and left the study with half a bowl of noodles.

After a while, Murong Xiao put on his coat and went out.

He didn't return home all night.

While eating breakfast, Xiangjin kept yawning, and the canna next to him also yawned several times. Life is too hard for a dog.

"Didn't you sleep well, Madam? You look so tired. Did you get too tired from taking care of the young master last night?" Zhou Zhou poured a cup of refreshing tea and said with a mischievous smile.

Xiang Jin smiled and wrote: "It should be Miss Fang who is tired."

Zhou Zhou was puzzled.

Aunt Yang kept winking at Zhouzhou, and Zhouzhou suddenly realized what was happening and quickly shut her mouth.

"Madam, we're going to the hospital after breakfast. Our luggage is all packed. Please check it again later to see if we've forgotten anything," Butler Feng quickly changed the subject.

Xiang Jin was puzzled. Should they go to the hospital?

"Yes, the young master instructed last night that you should start treatment today and not be discharged until your voice recovers. Didn't the young master tell you?"

No.

He didn't have time to tell her.

Last night you were in such a hurry, it seems Miss Fang needs special care.

Xiang Jin put down her spoon, rubbed her aching chest, and turned to go upstairs.

After packing my things, I headed towards the hospital.

Perhaps because her identity was sensitive and she was afraid that exposure would bring shame to the Murong family, the hospital arranged for her to live in a detached house with everything she needed, including a small garden, and with her own security guards and caregivers. Her conditions were better than ever before.

After a series of examinations, the doctor told Xiang Jin to wait for the results, saying that the timing of the surgery would be determined based on her condition.

Xiang Jin stood under the dappled shadows of the window, idly playing with his phone.

At this moment, Bai Ning sent a message.

"Ah Jin, I'm almost at Fengjia Village. Get ready for my big surprise!" The message was followed by a few mischievous emojis.

Xiang Jin was stunned, and quickly replied, "Shuangshuang, I don't live in Fengjia Village anymore."

"Oh, so where do you live?"

Xiang Jin thought for a moment and sent the hospital's location: "I'm here."

There was a silence of about ten seconds on the other end: "Holy crap, Jin, you're in the hospital? What's wrong with you? Why didn't you tell me sooner!"

Xiang Jin: "...I just arrived, I'm just checking my throat."

There was another moment of silence on the other end: "Okay, then you wait for me, I'm on my way with a surprise..."

Half an hour later, Bai Ningshuang arrived at the hospital, and the surprise she was looking forward to was her old friend Sun Yanqing, whom she hadn't seen for five years.

He greeted her with a smile and put his arm around Bai Ningshuang's shoulder: "Ajin, I'm back. Have you missed me all these years?"

"Go to hell!" Xiang Jin laughed and cursed, but his eyes inexplicably reddened.

In high school, the three of them had a very close relationship and were known as the "iron triangle." Later, due to family reasons, Sun Yanqing had to study abroad. He didn't tell anyone when he left, and they never contacted each other again.

Unexpectedly, it suddenly came back.

"I know you're angry, so I've already scolded him for you. You can vent your anger slowly after your voice has recovered."

"But Ah Jin, your hospital room is quite nice. With your husband's financial situation, I'm afraid it might be a bit too much for him to afford."

Xiang Jin smiled.

She lowered her head to write, changing the subject: "Yan Qing, are you leaving again this time you're back?"

"I came back with my teacher to participate in an important consultation. I will stay for a while. After the consultation, I will have to go abroad. I should be able to come back in a few years."
