Chapter 107 Azure-Footed Dragon and Serpent

Almost instantly, Li Aili was pulled behind the Duke.

The white war bear landed on all fours.

With a muffled thud, the ground shook.

A person was being carried on the bear's back.

Backlit, Li Aili couldn't see his face clearly. Until the man swept his long legs up and slid off the bear's back.

This was a tall, muscular man with short, spiky silver hair, a silver hoop earring on his left ear, and a piercing scar over his right eye.

He's actually taller and more imposing than Arthur, who's 1.95 meters tall?!

Standing in front of Li Aili is like being a small magic tower.

“Come on, let’s go inside and talk.” The man nodded familiarly to Li Aili, then said to Arthur.

Clearly, he is the Duke of the North, Wolf Winterwolf.

Duke Winter Wolf exudes a bandit-like aura born from long-term immersion in killing.

To put it more vividly, he's like a honey badger on the grasslands.

If you look at him even once, you feel like he's about to rush at you and start a fight.

Duke Winter Wolf placed one hand on the heavy, three-and-a-half-meter-tall gate of the white castle, his arm bulging with veins as he exerted force, accompanied by a silent rumbling sound.

He pushed open the white door, which weighed at least a ton, with one hand.

Li Aili: "..." (#Д)!

Is it really this difficult to go home in your northern lands?!

The layout inside the Ice Castle is simple and crude.

The pelts of various magical beasts were skinned, processed, and then laid on the ground, nailed to the wall, or hung on high-backed chairs...

In short, you can find the skin of any man-eating monster in Ice and Snow Castle.

There were no servants in the castle, only busy, wounded old soldiers.

These veterans, some with missing legs or arms, were surprisingly quick at starting fires and cooking, soon preparing a table full of delicious hot food.

A tin fireplace sat in the reception room, its flickering flames driving away the bone-chilling cold of the North.

Li Aili sat in front of the stove for the first time, holding a bowl of thick soup.

The staple food consists of wheat cakes baked around the stove and roasted monster meat.

Wolf Winter Wolf devoured the small pancakes one after another, looking nothing like a duke of high status.

Li Aili took a sip of the soup and her eyes immediately lit up. The sweet and sour soup, paired with the crispy baked wheat cakes, had a unique flavor.

"Oh, madam, this pancake tastes even better when dipped in the soup."

The veteran who was helping to bake the pancakes picked one up for her as he spoke.

Li Aili quickly thanked them.

The veteran had marks on his face from the claws of a monster, and had lost an arm.

"Thank you, thank you!" Li Aili quickly expressed her gratitude.

The veteran paused for a moment, then chuckled sheepishly and continued baking pancakes in silence.

【Oh dear, the Duke of West County certainly didn't choose the wrong person. This is the first time I've ever seen a noble lady stand up and accept the cakes we offer with both hands.】

Wolf slurped down a bowl of warm, thick soup before slowing down his eating.

"When do we make our move?" he suddenly asked.

Upon hearing their duke utter these words abruptly, the busy veterans put down what they were doing and left the restaurant.

Arthur, holding the bowl in one hand, frowned as he picked out the beet leaves from the bowl. "Can't stand it anymore?"

Wolf crunched on a piece of cured meat with bone in it. "The day before yesterday, 'Nail' caused trouble during the beast tide and killed a few of my brothers."

Li Aili used her fork to put the vegetable leaves back into the Duke's bowl, staring at him.

Arthur silently watched the vegetable leaves bobbing up and down in the soup bowl.

Finally, he picked up the soup bowl and downed it in one gulp, giving Wolf an answer: "Spring."

Wolf narrowed his eyes slightly. "Which one should we attack first?"

Arthur said, "No, let them make the first move."

Wolf frowned, his thick brows furrowing. "What do we do?"

Arthur: "All we need to do is form an alliance."

Wolf thought for a moment and said knowingly, "Good idea! I'll have someone prepare it right now."

Both of their heads were clean, with no bubbles visible.

The bowls in the North were enormous; Li Aili felt they were bigger than her face. After drinking a third of the thick soup, she was too full to drink any more.

Arthur took the bowl from her, tilted his head back, and gulped it down.

Wolf shouted, and the veteran guarding the door came in. "Get ready. I'm going to form an alliance with the Duke of the West in the square."

The veteran nodded and immediately limped out of the room.

The Northerners were incredibly efficient; in no time, the disabled veteran returned to report, "Everything is ready."

Wolf stood up from the fireplace. "Let's go."

On the way, the Duke of the North kept glancing at Li Ai Li, and then he couldn't help but glance at her again.

Arthur stopped and stared at Wolfe expressionlessly, asking, "Are you full?"

Wolf looked at him, puzzled, and replied honestly, "No, I'm a little hungry."

Arthur: "..."

Wolf was so eager to try it that he turned to Li Aili and said, "The potion you brought back last time is very effective at killing magical beasts."

Do you have any more?

Li Aili was stunned, completely baffled by what the Duke of the North was saying out of the blue.

Arthur said, "It's a fire potion and a cold potion."

Li Aili was a little confused. When did she give the Duke of the North an alchemical potion?

"Yes, there are," Li Aili said.

Wolf said, "Alright, I'll trade you for magical beast materials."

"Let's get down to business first," the Duke interrupted coldly.

Outside the Ice Fortress, the people of the North, having heard about the alliance, all rushed to the square to watch the spectacle.
