"Cupid Falls! Lich and Lich Dragon Save the World!?" — World Gossip Entertainment Weekly.
"Cupid Wants to Destroy Clark with His Temple." — Arcane Research Report
"Strongly condemn Clark's god-slaying act! This is a sign of the end times!" — The Magician's Daily.
Li Aili, who had returned to Emerald Valley to take charge of the overall situation, received a stack of newspapers from the housekeeper early the next morning.
"Madam, I have already categorized them for you in advance according to your attitude towards this matter."
Conrad divided the newspapers into three stacks and placed them in front of Ellie.
"These are in praise of what His Highness Albert has done."
"These are the ones that remain neutral on this matter, only reporting on the temple's fall."
"The last few..."
The last stack of newspapers had the most.
Li Aili glanced at the headlines; they were all criticizing Clark's god-slaying acts.
She counted the first stack of newspapers, which contained about 20 copies, indicating a shift in public opinion.
Before Albert used the power of the Time Dragon to erase the temple, all the newspapers were condemning Clark's threat to kill the gods.
“Public opinion is changing, Conrad,” Ellie said, leaning back in her chair. “Because they see that God wants to kill, but the immortals are saving the world.”
Conrad stood quietly beside the desk.
His extensive experience taught him that sometimes, all a leader needs is a quiet listener.
"Perhaps, this situation will happen again in the future."
"Conrad, we need to have our own mouthpiece."
The old butler rested his chin on one hand and said, “There are quite a few newspaper tycoons in Hell. They’re doing very well down there because of their old ways. If you need any manpower in that area, Madam, perhaps I can bring a few up for you.”
Li Aili: "..."
She couldn't help but ask, "So, why are they in hell?"
Conrad maintained his usual butler's composure and smiled, saying, "They are newspaper tycoons."
Just as Li Aili was about to criticize Conrad's "dark humor," there was a gentle knock on the study door.
Knock knock knock.
"Please come in," Li Aili said.
Joanna pushed open the door, her expression brimming with excitement, and exclaimed, "Your Highness, the Knights have arrived! Edward has taken them to the military camp!"
"They are now awaiting Your Highness's audience at the military camp!"
At first, Li Aili thought it was some familiar faces from the Blue Agate Knights coming over.
It wasn't until she walked out of the inner city's city hall and arrived at the planned western military camp that she realized something was amiss.
As Li Aili stepped off the carriage, she saw two fully-equipped knight orders standing in front of her.
The moment they saw her, the 688 knights pounded their breastplates in perfect unison, shouting, "Your Highness, the Blue Agate Knights are here, pledging their allegiance to you!"
The men shouted in unison, declaring their loyalty; their voices were powerful and resounding, echoing in the empty military camp.
Li Aili stared in disbelief at the scene before her.
Previously, Arthur said he would send people over, and Li Aili thought he would at most send a knightly order.
To my utter surprise, Arthur would send his two most capable knightly orders.
After regaining her senses, Li Aili realized the problem behind the incident and her expression became serious.
But outwardly, she greeted the knights with a smile and said, "Tonight, we will hold a banquet to celebrate your arrival."
After saying that, she pointed to the two commanders of the knightly orders, "Balk, George, come with me for a moment."
At the same time, she said to Edward, "I'm leaving this place to you, Edward. Help everyone get familiar with the area."
Edward pounded his breastplate with his hammer. "Yes, Your Highness!"
The two knights mounted their black Nightmare horses and followed Li Aili's carriage back to the city hall.
As soon as she entered the office and closed the door, Li Aili couldn't help but ask:
"If you all come here, what about Arthur?"
The two knights exchanged a glance and both gave a wry smile.
"Your Highness (Arthur), please don't worry about him."
"Yes, madam."
Li Aili rested her hands on the desk, her bright green eyes scanning back and forth between the two of them.
"I want to hear the truth."
Balk's mouth creased into a straight line.
George hesitated for a moment, then said, "It's true, Madam. His Highness may not really need us."
Balk looked at George in shock, as if to say, "Are you tired of living?"
Li Aili's heart sank, knowing that something had probably happened in the capital that she was unaware of.
Arthur always reported good news and never bad news.
Conrad's loyalty to him was ingrained in his very being.
It's not that the knights were disloyal.
However, Conrad's loyalty lay in perfectly executing every single one of Arthur's orders.
But the knights would have their own considerations.
For example, George right in front of us.
"What happened in the royal city?" Li Aili asked.
George hesitated for a moment, then said, "His Highness Albert has assembled an army of the undead."
"In order to counter this, His Highness established... the Demon Legion."
On one side are endless undead, and on the other are greedy demons crawling out of the abyss.
The elite human knights are caught in the middle, which is indeed a difficult situation.
After figuring out the situation, Li Aili's brows furrowed even more deeply.
"Any further news?"
George looked at Balk.
Balk gritted his teeth and said resolutely, "That lich is vying for power with His Highness!!"
George looked at Ellie, as if observing whether she intended to interfere in the matter.
"Madam, please forgive my bluntness."
"I'm afraid only you can persuade His Highness on this matter," George said solemnly.
