[Bounty Mission: Find the Missing Fire Giant]
[Mission Location: Giant Spirit Plains]
[Mission Description: Recently, several fire giants have gone missing on the Giant Spirit Plains. The fire giants hope that a brave warrior will find their missing kin and bring the perpetrators to justice.]
[Quest giver: A Wind Giant noble who wishes to remain anonymous.]
[Mission Reward: Two wishes.]
Leslie put down the parchment. "If the mission content is only like this, it's not even close to SSS level."
Li Aili asked, "Could it be that the Adventurers' Association made a mistake in labeling it?"
“No, because the Adventurers’ Guild has a fully grown Sphinx,” Leslie said.
Li Aili: "??"
Li Aili was completely stunned.
Is it the Sphinx she knows?
"No wonder this bounty has been up there for so long. Experienced veterans probably noticed something was wrong and were hesitant to take the risk," Assange said, stroking his chin.
Unsure, Li Aili asked, "Can this mission be cancelled?"
Wendy Shane stared intently at the parchment on the table. "Theoretically, it's possible, but the cost is too high; we might not be able to afford it."
Leslie added, "The guild will lower our squad's rating by three levels as punishment."
"In that case, we won't be able to accept high-bounty missions until our mission points are restored to legendary level."
"Furthermore, the legendary adventure missions we are currently undertaking will be handed over to other adventure teams."
White Rose pursed her lips, bubbles constantly rising from her head, filled with words of self-reproach.
Wendy Shane said, "We absolutely cannot back down!"
How many gold coins would that be?!
The speech bubble above Leslie's head reads: [Current mission resale = no final payment = lost villa again = mission absolutely cannot be cancelled!]
Li Aili: "..."
Li Aili then turned to look at the Duke, who sat at the head of the table at the other end of the long table.
Arthur looked at her and sighed, "If I told you not to go, would you have listened?"
Li Aili said quietly, "If we can't collect the magical plants from the Giant Spirit Plains, then all the suffering I endured on the previous two trips will have been for nothing."
Li Aili thought of the 'illegal occupants' in her shadow, "Besides, don't I have enough 'bodyguards' in my shadow?"
Now, when Li Aili looks at her shadow, she always feels that it has endured too much that it shouldn't have, to the point that it has been stretched several sizes larger.
The Duke put down his wine glass and stood up. "I'll write to send a helper over; you must take her with you on this trip."
Li Aili readily agreed, "No problem!"
Leslie said, "If possible, it would be best to find out why this mission was rated '3S'."
Assange rolled his eyes at his pastor teammate, who had ripped him off a large sum of hard-earned money, and said, "Who should I ask? The Sphinx?"
Can you answer his riddle?
Li Aili was extremely curious. "Was that riddle of the Sphinx really that difficult?"
Assange said with a look of awe, "That's a question that even an omniscient and omnipotent God cannot answer!"
Li Aili: "Really?" (⊙o⊙)...
The conversation at the dinner table started to veer off course.
Seeing Li Aili's curiosity, Assange immediately offered her a detailed explanation: "The Sphinx said that whoever solves his riddle will be his master."
"Back then, even the Holy Light Court had designs on this powerful magical beast."
"The funny thing is, I heard that the Pope personally asked 'that god' for advice, and he got struck by lightning, haha~" Assange said casually, completely unaware that the Duke, sitting in the main seat, was staring at him expressionlessly.
Li Aili immediately became even more interested in the Sphinx. "So, the leader of the Adventurers' Guild guessed the riddle of the Sphinx?"
Wendy Shane said, "No... the Adventurers' Guild has to pay you."
Li Aili: "..."
She asked with great interest, "What happens if you can't answer the riddle?"
The dragon-slaying team fell into a brief silence.
Then Leslie said, “If you can tell me something the Sphinx doesn’t know, then you can leave safely.”
"Otherwise, you will turn into a stone statue and remain in the Adventurers' Guild forever."
Li Aili: "..."
Assange remarked, "When I was young and naive, I even sneaked off to the edge of the Sphinx's territory."
"At that time, I even marveled that this monster was an art connoisseur, collecting so many 'stone statues'."
"Later, when I joined the adventure team, I realized that they were all unlucky guys who couldn't answer the riddles."
Li Aili: "..."
After hearing the story, Li Aili marveled at the terrifying nature of the mythical creature, saying, "That Sphinx is truly amazing, with so many riddles that no one can answer."
Wendy Shane said, "...one."
Wendy Shane: "The riddle of the Sphinx has always been the same."
"What walks on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?" the Duke said calmly. "That is the riddle of the Sphinx."
Li Aili: "…………………"
Everyone watched as the lady slowly, very slowly, revealed a radiant smile.
Where is the headquarters of the Adventurers' Guild?
Everyone: "???"
...
The next morning, Li Aili used her knowledge of alchemy to convince her boyfriend.
After breakfast, she had just gotten into the carriage that Conrad had prepared.
Leslie called out to Ellie, who was about to leave, "Miss Employer, would you mind if we traveled together?"
