Conrad left the restaurant.
A 'shadow' emerged from the shadow beneath his feet, and Conrad solemnly addressed the 'shadow':
"Tell the master that the dessert operation has failed."
Back in her room, Li Aili went into the alchemy room, collected her daily dose of magical plants, and then washed up and went to sleep.
Li Aili thought the arcanist would give a reply quickly.
As a result, they waited for three days.
Incidentally, for three days, Li Aili received news every day about which territory someone had conquered.
As Conrad read the war victory report, Li Aili smiled and wreaked havoc on the budding roses in the back garden.
Forget about the Rose King this year. If anyone comes back and sees even a single flower, she'll consider herself outdone.
Finally, when Li Aili was having breakfast that day, the Elf King's brother rushed over in a flurry.
"He said he'd be free until 10 a.m. today, but he wouldn't have time later."
Li Aili glanced at the time. Great, it was only 8:30.
She picked up her teacup, drank the warm sweet milk tea, wiped her mouth, tossed aside her napkin, took out a teleportation scroll, and slammed it on the table. "Let's go."
Wang Di quickly filled in the spatial coordinates.
'Glug, glug,' Li Aili drank a bottle of holy light potion, tore off the space teleportation scroll, and stepped into the space gate with her brother.
The moment the portal closed, the sound of horses' hooves came from outside the window.
Conrad, who was directing the valet to clear the table, sighed.
Conrad walked out of the castle to greet the returning Duke.
The duke, sensing that his wife was not there, was giving instructions to the knights surrounding him.
Seeing Conrad standing quietly to one side, the Duke unusually raised his hand to stop Commander Balk from reporting.
"Wait, Balk."
The Duke walked up to Conrad. "How serious is it?"
Conrad: "If you saw the roses in your backyard, you might have a more intuitive understanding..."
Before he could finish speaking, the Duke had already vanished.
Just as Conrad closed his mouth, the Duke returned with a solemn expression.
Duke: "How do we appease them?"
Conrad said uncertainly, "Perhaps we could ask the married knights?"
The Duke turned around and his eyes met those of Knight Balk.
...
Li Aili stepped out of the portal and found herself on a picturesque floating island.
Above us was a blue sky, and beyond the island stretched a sea of clouds, while beneath our feet lay solid ground.
A huge white palace was built on the high ground in the center of the sky island.
Li Aili and Wang Di stood on the outermost edge of the floating island.
"That's the research institute of the great arcane masters," Wang Di said, pointing to the tallest white hall and introducing it to Li Aili.
Wang Di added, "O'Neill said that we can write to him when we arrive, and he will send an apprentice to pick us up."
Li Aili blew her whistle and summoned the 'Blue Bird'.
No wonder arcane mages are so rich; this kind of arcane life form is really convenient. No matter where you are, it will 'get the job done' within 3 seconds.
Wang Di wrote a note to his friend, and the little bird happily carried the note away and flew away in an instant.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, the space distorted, and a young man wearing a blue spellcaster's robe, thick-rimmed glasses, and messy hair walked out of the distorted space.
A strange, shiny stone hung above the young man's head. He raised his hand and poked the frame of his glasses with his index finger.
“It’s Mr. Leongor, who made a last-minute appointment to see Master O’Neill, and…” He turned his head to look at Li Aili, his gaze briefly touching her face before looking away.
Only the small, bright red tip of his ear peeking out from his messy black hair revealed the true thoughts in this arcane apprentice's heart.
She's so beautiful!!
Who is this?
"Li Aili," Li Aili introduced herself.
The apprentice quickly replied, "Jay, Jay Sunnix."
[Beautiful lady, what do you think of this surname for your child?]
Li Aili: "..."
The apprentice coughed lightly, took out his pocket watch and glanced at it. "I'll take you there now. Once you're inside, you'll only have 10 minutes for the meeting."
“Master O’Neal’s time is very valuable, please don’t waste his time.”
After the apprentice finished speaking, he snapped his fingers, and the red stone hovering above his head lit up. Immediately afterward, a tunnel opened up in the space.
Li Aili noticed that arcane mages do not use incantations when using arcane magic.
She seemed to understand why there was an irreconcilable conflict between arcane mages and sorcerers...
While the mage was still chanting, the arcane mage had already slammed a fireball into the mage's face.
Emerging from the spatial tunnel opened by the arcane apprentice who was leading the way, the group stood directly in the hallway inside the house.
Before me was a walnut wood door, and several old portraits of individuals hung in the corridor.
The arcane apprentice knocked on the door. "Master, the guest has arrived."
An old voice came from inside the door, "Come in."
The apprentice pushed open the door and gestured for Li Aili and Wang Di to go inside.
As an old friend of the homeowner, Wang Di was the first to go in, followed by Li Aili.
This is a room that... to put it nicely, has a very academic atmosphere. The room is filled with books, and there are draft papers for calculations scattered all over the floor. Some important ones are pinned to the wall.
The owner of the room, Wang Di's friend, was an elderly man with white hair and beard. He stood at his desk, not even looking up, and said:
"There's no room for you to sit in my room, so please stand there."
Wang Di smiled and nodded. "You're still the same as ever, as straightforward as ever, O'Neal."
Li Aili: "..." I've finally learned a new way to use 'frank' today.
